It would be impressive if he manages the club until he’s 112. On the other hand it felt like Mourinho and Conte’s tenures lasted 55 years…I can't say Ange was high on my list. But he's here (or coming very soon),apparently plays attacking football, and it's all quite exciting, isn't it? From what I read (admittedly mainly posted by Celtic fans or @The Cryptkeeper 's extended family) he's the best man for the job. Or any job, apparently. So let's see what he can do - I hope he turns out to be Bill Nick mk ii and stays for 55 years.
Proper hard man as a player. Not quite Joe Jordan levels of intimidation in the dugout, but pretty close.
I think this is why we're targeting athletic CBs who are tidy in possession. This does not, of course, explain why we're signing Lenglet.I still cant begin to fathom how Angeball will work. When the full backs push up and inside, how do the two CBs cope?
Seems to be asking so much of the four defenders. In Emerson I think we have a RB that can cope with the pace defending and recovery needed
But not at all sure about LB, can Udogie do what's required in a Prem debut season?
I just can't imagine how it will all work. For sure I think we need a CB and LB to give it a fighting chance
I thought I saw Longboat was being jogged on...!!!???I think this is why we're targeting athletic CBs who are tidy in possession. This does not, of course, explain why we're signing Lenglet.
It's going to take time to get the squad sorted out, and as you're kind of pointing to, the biggest issue is really the fact that we have been bringing in wing backs (Udogie, Spence, Sessegnon, Perisic, Pedro Porro) and now we've hired a manager who doesn't use them, at least to my knowledge. I'd imagine the approach would be to keep the likes of Davies and Emerson around, train the others to fit the system, and get rid of the ones who don't impress.
Of course, none of this is going to get completely done this summer, it's going to take multiple windows and a lot of patience.

There have been conflicting reports over the last week, with the most recent ones suggesting the club are in talks to make it a permanent deal.I thought I saw Longboat was being jogged on...!!!???

Good points, so much work needs to be done. I think we could finish anywhere from 4th to 14th ATMI think this is why we're targeting athletic CBs who are tidy in possession. This does not, of course, explain why we're signing Lenglet.

Well that's good news.
This vibe has been missing for so long.
He really comes across as an 'old soul' with wisdom beyond his years & people naturally gravitate to him.Again, no bullshit. Ange on the early positive reception he's gotten:
"It means a lot but I’m not comfortable with it. You love what it means because for the most part it’s blind faith. I haven’t yet delivered anything. Hopefully when the day comes that we deliver as a team it will mean something different then."
