Wot - no Boxing Day footy? When I was a nipper we always had cold turkey and football on Boxing day, I blame Farage (for everything).

Let's hope our boys have a nice rest and don't eat too many mince pies.

Like yourself @Dorset I feel a little strange not having us play on boxing day, but the bonus is it's on sky sports so no shitty stream for me. Fuck me the extra wait is gonna be killer and the suspense even more so if the teams around us drop any points.

As for the game itself, very tough one. Good side but they haven't been banging too many goals in this season and I have the feeling this is they type of away game that could play into our hands. They will surely want to get the win at home so will play a pretty attacking style giving us a bit of space to play, if we can keep them quiet then we'll have a good result from this. Could do with Kane and Alli coming back to form to help out a bit now though as Eriksen (you know that guy people elsewhere were slagging off the other week) has been saving our bacon as of late. Be good to see Toby back in the team, and does anyone have any news on Lamela?

Lloris
KW TA JV DR
Dier Dembele
Sissoko Alli Eriksen
Kane

Having Son and Wink on the bench if we need them too!

Looks like all our top 4 rivals have 'easy' games on Boxing Day, but we all know there are no easy games in the PL so let's ask Santa for banana skins for them lot!

Yeah, I remember going to West Ham on Boxing Day, one of my dad's mates used to get spammer tickets, probably forged or nicked, but it used to be a bit of a tradition going to that nasty place at xmas, and getting really wasted - not me I was only little but the so-called grownups used to be very thirsty, I don't remember seeing Spurs there, it would have been between 1962 and 1966 probably so there's no fucking way I can remember that long ago very clearly, it might all be bollox and we never went there, it's just a nightmare, but I do have vague recollections of going there.

.....it's coming back now we used to get the bus to Woolwich, walk through the tunnel under the Thames then either get a bus or walk fucking miles to Upton park! It was a really long walk when my dad didn't want to waste beer money on bus fares. It was fun though, a real adventure across the water, it was as close to going on holiday as I usually got! Nah that's not true, my nan used to live in Westgate on the south coast, I used to spend the whole summer there, my mum would put me on the train at Bromley South then it was 6 weeks of sun, beer and roll-ups, my nan was old school and didn't see why kids couldn't smoke and drink, pucker!

Bromley south just 4 stops up the line from my old gaff.I worked in woolwich for a period, went one afternoon across on the ferry, watch spurs at the boelyn and got back to finish off work.I went a few times there, that south bank was rank you literally could only see the edge of the area from it,and had to see players reactions as to if we had scored.Whereas now you`d need binoculars.

Only went to West Ham once, it was a cup game I think when Graham was the manager so it wasn't the happiest of times all round really. Had to sit amongst the great unwashed as well, but it turned out OK, Rebrov scored the winner I think in a 3-1 victory.....

Never had any desire to return to their old shit pit or the new running track with a football pitch in the middle.

Went to Upton Park once with my Dad, in the terrible 90s it was. The game was nearly called off because of gale force winds. I remember having a great time singing 'Who's got a big fat wife' and David Howells scored one of the finest goals I've ever seen. Then the pikeys went and ruined it with that thug Hartson and won 4-3 gutted! Then we had to queue in the rain for ages with the pikeys for a tube back home.

Oh happy days!

I remember that game! Having Sunday dinner round mum and dads and we all settled down for the game. Rebrov scored a volley direct from the corner and my Dad nearly hit the ceiling he was so pumped!

Tough game as Saints have quietly been getting on with their job and in decent form. Depends which version of Spurs comes out. The ones who have enjoyed a couple sherry's and few mince pies too many, or the Spurs team who turn up with their game faces on.

On my little monthly add up thing I do, I had December down for 11 points (I have hoped for a draw from Man U),we've got 9 so far, so a win and we go past my estimate or a draw and we finish 1 point off it....lets not even talk about a loss.

Erik is still out with a 'sore hip' Ummmmm! me thinks there is more going on than being said. I would guess the club are trying to protect the lad with this long term sore hip.
did you see the pics of him back home with his brother?his brother is in a bad way in hospital, think its more lack of training and state of mind maybe?

I don't know what's going on, but one way or another it needs to be sorted quick.

Looking forward to this one. Always seems to be a pretty open game. Need a win obviously to stay in touch

Yup, absolutely, we don't even get to overtake anyone above us with a win, just stayin' in touch.

Yeh, maybe the draws earlier in the season are putting that wee bit of pressure on us now. As you say Rev, we'll not overtake anyone but there's pressure to win just to keep everyone above us within sight. We could do with a week or 2 of upset and honestly, I think they'll come. We need to be ready to take advantage.
Soton don't score much but don't concede much either so everything would probably point to a low scoring affair. Personally, I'd take a last minute winner deflected in off Sons left bollock from a shot by Rose that was meant to be a cross.

I know this was the FA Cup but a game like this would be great

That was fantastic....I remember the old Dell, Gerry Francis was manager and it was Ronnie Rosenthals best game ever for anyone....I wouldn't mind winning 1-0 tonight. Liverpool drew 0-0 there recently....our record is good.

Mike Dean is referee....happy days??

That's his second best one after Arsenal away I think when we went 2-0 up....I won't remind everyone of the final score....

I'm going for a snooze now ready for 7.45pm it's been a bit of a red wine and food fest day....
