They do throw out some awfully queer stats though !!

According to The CIES Football Observatory, United have the best performing midfielder in Europe. No prizes for guessing who it is!

James Milner is the 2nd best performing full-back in the big-5 leagues, according to the CIES Football Observatory research team -

I really think they are taking the piss. Some of their ratings are way too clever for my poor little brain, my favourite is:

RG Rigour - Ability too minimise goal opportunities for opponents through robust duelling

Oh fuck off will ya?

I suppose that everyone has heard the old joke about Spurs being so good that one day when they were due to play the Scum, Hugo told the players that they could all have the day off and only Harry and Dele would play. They would be enough to win against the Scums best XI....

So at half time while the rest of the lads were in the pub, Hugo rings Harry up and asks the score....'0-0' Harry says, but we're all over them, Dele has hit the post and I've hit the bar twice.

At full time Hugo rings again, so what was the final score Harry? 'we lost 1-0....' Harry says, 'Oh NOOOOO..' says Hugo disbelieving, 'What happened?'

'We both got sent off' says Harry....

We're the most valuable English team apparently and the third most valued in Europe, lol. These CIES people know a thing or two don't they??!! Like in the example further above they value Hazard at £101.5m as a striker but then only £87m as an attacking midfielder...??

They're probably not too far off with our general position top 3 I'd say, not sure about the value though. How happy do you think Levy is right now on a scale of 1-10.....11??

Don't give him ideas.

What is our net spend over the last 5 years, something like £5m?

Net Spend last 5 Years and before anyone tells you it's all the Bale money it isn't, we spent all that and more on the 'magnificent 7'..the 'magnificent 1' as it turned out, Christian Eriksen.

All pretty remarkable really, our relative success is something to be proud of in this modern era of moneyball, high finance football. The CFO and chief scout at West Ham and Sunderland might want to look away now....As for City and United, just a ridiculous amount of wasted money....Leicester City fucked you right over along with Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea as well.

Sir Alex Ferguson must wonder what the hell happened.

1 Manchester City £402,550,000

2 Manchester United £368,650,000

3 Arsenal £205,890,000

4 Chelsea £192,309,000

5 West Ham £125,300,000

6 Liverpool £121,520,000

7 Leicester £88,400,000

8 Sunderland £73,430,000

9 Stoke City £62,300,000

19 Tottenham £5,500,000

20 Swansea -£1,937,000

Of course, including the Tom Carroll sale to Swansea, they leapfrog us on the big spending league.

I'll bet that tight old fucker Levy sold him for £5,500,001, so he can see a quid profit!
