dont give a fuck what he wants. he wanted a loan last week to hang with big bro. this is a 17 year old we are dealing with. tell him he is off on loan to mid table epl club and he gets a new contract to boot or he can train with us and get PT as it comes on the same contract he is on now and until its up in 5 years
A 2 year loan to Brighton wouldn't be a bad thing.

If he is a £45m player now why would we sell him before he has kicked a ball for us...

Brighton don't sign cunts... They'd sell him in 2 seasons for £80/90m after he looks like a world beater for a season or two...

From a FFP perspective this lad is absolute gold if he's worth that type of money now let alone his potential upside if he comes good... Which he probably will if Brighton are looking to sign him...

Wed get another VDV level player for fuck all in a season or so if VDV does decide to fuck off...

Do not sell this kid, it'll come back to bite us on the arse big time...

I agree fucking completely..... but it's in our DNA .(I'm hoping De Zerbi changes this). Fucking unfortunately.. Bale .. Modric.. Walker... Kane... even Sonny... and that's just a few recent ones. And they never work, the money you get for world class players, invested into the team , I don't recall us spending and gaining anything even close to what we lost... Good teams don't sell all their World class players.. yes you lose some but if it ain't broke... don't fix it!!

I expect this is exactly what's going to happen.

We've signed Senesi and van Hecke, both CB's, and have Romero, VDV, Dragusin and Danso on the books.

That's six centre backs who would all be legitimate contenders to start without even considering Vuskovic and even Ashley Phillips who, by all accounts, had a very good loan last season.

Me, I'd be selling Dragusin and Danso just to make room for Vuskovic but we don't do things like that and they'll all just shrug their shoulders when Brighton sell him for £100m in five years time.

Bergvall appears to be next up in wanting out. I can see Archie Gray following as well.

If we got a good bid I'd be alright with Bergvall going. Plenty of potential and did ok but if I'm honest, I think he's been overhyped but he's only young so you never know how he'll progress.
Gray's a player i think can become world class. His consistency and composure at centre half when he had to fill in was telling. He's versatile and calm. Very rare for a lad of his age and something that Bergvall doesn't have. I'd tie Gray down long term and put in a massive buy out clause cos that fella will be a big player imo at PL level or abroad at CL level with another club if we don't look after him here.
He's well able to play in our midfield in a holding role or further up the pitch and we know he's comfortable at the back.
Top talent imo...

I did read something earlier that I thought was fairly accurate. It suggested that a lot of people's perceptions of him would have been altered somewhat by Frank's treatement of him and they would likely forget how good he was in his first season under Ange.

But then I also read something that said we've spent years buying potential and not really doing anything with it so is now the time under RDZ to actually try and buy the 'finished article' ?

I think with Gray we already have the finished article. I don't see how there's a better young player in a modern PL squad that does as good a job in 3,4 different positions on the pitch. Some asset....
I think one of the obvious things that was missing last season was a leader. We haven't had one in years. Robertson is a good signing for that very reason. He's a winner.
Van Hecke and Senesi are very good solid signings. So far so good in the window but fuck me, we need to address that massive fat fuckin elephant in the room that is that prolific centre forward. Cos Solanke and Richy are just......not.......good enough.
