We all knew it was going to take several windows to rebuild from the shambles of the last few years, so the fact we're heading into the season with holes in the squad isn't all that surprising. We're also going to get some transfers wrong. But I'm confused by Gakpo, and it's telling that no other clubs seem all that interested in Savinho, who at the end of the day has had one good season in his career (in Spain.)

It's also inevitable that if they're going to bring in these expensive players, they'll sell young club-developed players to do it, because it's almost all profit. In modern football finance terms, it's the only way to keep the shell game going. As I said yesterday, Moore could be a star, but the way we're going, I bet they'll sell him on. Same with Bergvall.

Now that's better

Well, thats up too you! .And thats why u are so ,well brushed up on whats, happening at Spurs, and like many more, have total blind faith in De-Zerbi, and his Mafia.

Brushed up on what's happening at Spurs? Been going since the late 70s, think I'm quite well versed to be honest.

Enough punctuation for you or do you need to sit down and mark it with your schoolmaster pen?. ! Read it and comment on the content ,not the bloody punctuation, commas, paragraphs, and then soeak about the contents, agree or disagree; thats what this is all about!. danboy61

If you're going to write a lot of words, then use paragraphs, happy to help ๐Ÿ‘

Danboy decelerating from 10,456 words to zero in a matter of 2 posts.
Very impressive.

Wish I could do the same with these last 8 lbs I want to lose.

If we get a decent performance against Brentford... That could wet us us for grabbing a few points before Christmas, deffo in the first month...

Equally, if we don't it will feel like groundhog day all over again...

I still don't know where the goals are going to come from...

โฑ๏ธ GOAL-KICKS & THROW-INS
โ€ข Referees can start a visible 5-second countdown if a player deliberately delays a restart.
โ€ข Taking too long over a throw-in = possession is given to the opposition.
โ€ข Goalkeepers taking too long over a goal-kick can now concede a CORNER.

๐Ÿงป TOWELS
โ€ข Players are no longer allowed to use towels to dry the ball before taking a throw-in.

๐Ÿ”„ SUBSTITUTIONS
โ€ข Substituted players have 10 seconds to leave the pitch at the nearest point.
โ€ข If they take too long, their replacement cannot enter for at least one minute and the team temporarily plays with 10 men.

๐Ÿš‘ INJURIES
โ€ข Players who cause the referee to stop the match because of an injury must leave the pitch for ONE MINUTE.
โ€ข There are exceptions, including certain situations where the opponent receives a yellow or red card.

๐Ÿงค GOALKEEPER 'TACTICAL TIMEOUTS'
โ€ข If a goalkeeper asks for treatment without one of the exemptions applying, their team must temporarily remove an outfield player for one minute.
โ€ข This is designed to stop teams using goalkeeper injuries to hold tactical team talks.

โœ‹ HANDBALL AFTER GOAL-KICKS
โ€ข Once a goalkeeper or defender kicks the ball from a goal-kick, it is officially considered taken.
โ€ข If a defender then handles the ball, a penalty can be awarded.

๐Ÿ“บ VAR
โ€ข VAR can now review the SECOND yellow card when it results in a player being sent off.
โ€ข VAR can also intervene in certain attacking fouls committed before a set-piece is taken if the incident directly leads to a goal, penalty or disciplinary sanction.

So, trying to speed up the game but no mention about stopping VAR from taking 10 minutes to make their decisions...

I hate timewasting, diving, simulation, etc as much as the next guy but I swear I think I hate VAR worse. And I thought the goal kick timewasting rule was already in place, just never enforced

Just get rid of VAR, the game improves 10 fold straight away

I'm fine with these changes. They will help speed up the game.

As for the goal kick timewasting, you may be referring to the goalkeeper handling the ball after a save. Keeper has 8 secs to release it. If that's what you may be alluding to, that's enforced.

Keeper placing the ball at one end of the 6 yard box for a goal kick then picking it up & going to the other side, that will be rectified by this new rule. As will players slowly creeping up the sideline, then retreating, before finally throwing in the ball.

I think the rule is taken advantage of and I've never seen 8s enforced.

About 6 Norwich fans were on Talksport this morning about the goal West Brom scored with a hand ball.
I think 5 from 6 said they'd still prefer it without VAR....
Says it all...

You know Arteta is going to complain about these rules like Gen Z does about severe economic hardship, high housing costs, a tough job market, and the weight of a mental health crisis driven by constant digital connectivity. As well as the rest of those ARSEnal players..

bunch o moaning cunts

Iโ€™m fine with the anti-time wasting measures but at some point they need to draw the line on VAR, which is pretty much becoming a case study in technology creep

Canada vs England, women's world cup...final? Semi?

I'm sure that's the well-researched precedent you were looking for, no?

I donโ€™t recall watching the womenโ€™s World Cup at all.

Iโ€™ll be on the stopwatch MW1 for our game and weโ€™ll see how it goes.
