What do you do for a living?

AI really fascinates me

The trouble with it in its current consumer guise, is is its doing all the time consuming, administrative, and monotonous jobs we all had to work through to build our craft... This limits the experience new starters are able to get and makes them completely unprepared for stepping into senior roles as they simply don't have the in-depth knowledge and inter mechanical understanding of how things work and then how to unpack the problems or even see the problems Infront of them...

I think it's a phenomenal tool where it is right now and I don't think 99.9% of people need what is available now let alone the advanced models some of these tech giants are building... That is weapons grade shit that arguably could end up in the wrong hands and end it all...

There has to be a course correction on this soon before it gets out of hand if we're not already at that point...

America, where all this shit is happening, and that orange turd just seen the dollar signs and don't care if the world burns because they think they're above it all... As per fucking usual...

We will all suffer the consequences of yet more American capitalism, ignorance and arrogance unfortunately...

The noise around this is that it's a real pandoras box moment, one were not ready for and one we have now idea how to wind back...

Humanity may unfortunately be about to learn one of it's biggest lessons yet... Maybe the last one...?

What do you do for a living?

AI really fascinates me

I work with eClinical technology , so it helps me create presentations, draft emails, develop new process etc. A presentation for a meeting could take a day or two, now it’s done in 15 minutes. It can create accurate meeting notes from meetings. I use it everyday, sometimes I will give it a task and go for a walk while it does it.

You do have to proof read it though, as it can make mistakes or incorrect assumptions.

Again, talking primarily here about LLMs, not all AI: Aside from the environmental impacts, and the fact that it is not “intelligence” in any meaningful sense, my problem with it is that it is a technology based almost entirely on theft.

I have also never seen (and like most of us I’m old enough to remember the dot.com boom days) a technology so relentlessly crammed down people’s throats as GenAI/LLMs.
