It must be kicking off big time in Kiddy Korner because even I was a bit miffed about that first half! It was not very good at all. We are really lucky not to be behind and Poch needs to kick some backsides and change things in the 2nd half. There is still time, but that first half just wan't good enough I reckon.

Makes it even more embarassing. WTF was that all about? I don't like it when the numpties slag our team off for no sensible reason. Some of the recent comnents have been laughable as we could have won most of our recent drawn league games and the performance and comittment have been top notch, but tonight I will give the numpties a free pass. I can't put a positive spin on that game, Dier's free kick effort was good, not much else was. Is it Wembley? Maybe it's all too much for them. Really dissapointing.

Thought Davies was the only real plus tonight. Big fan of Walker but Trippier must be running him close for a start at the weekend. Just realised also, the seats at Wembley are red. Ah ffs

Only positive I can think of is that Kane will apparently be back against the scummers this weekend. Even as wretched as we were tonight, we still gave up only the one goal, and if we can hit a purple patch of goals, we're going to be hard to beat. But its got to be miles better than what we saw tonight.

Shame if it is because we will be spending a bit more time there next season... maybe not in the CL, but significantly more time than it appears we will be there this term.
The one night I convince my lad to sit down and watch a game of football with me without fighting and jumping around for the wrong reasons.

The good things about this game:
My wife already broke our TV so I couldn't watch it on TV and thus break my TV
I didn't see as much of the game as I would normally want to because I had to make breakfast, lunch and dinner for my kids and then read to my son because he was cracking the shits.
It was only 95 minutes of dross.
What made this game frustrating was that Leverkusen were pretty dross themselves and the goal they scored was just a shit goal all round.

Yeah, and I thought the same was true of the game in Leverkusen, neither team played very well. Makes you wonder if it's not just a matter of two teams with similar styles that just sort of combined to make two ugly games. Like I said at the half, as crap as we were, and as many sloppy mistakes as we made, they didn't exactly put us to the sword.

Their general style is to frequently bypass the midfield, so it is a bit different to ours. They rarely play the ball out from the back, almost anytime there is any pressure they will kick it out or launch it upfield. You would swear their defenders can't actually play football some times. They can play combination plays but these tend to be from either a chaotic situation after losing the ball and winning it again or from a loose second ball.
Without the ball they are usually quite good in regaining structure if they miss their counterpress opportunity in the opponents defensive third. Having said that we still found a lot of space and created chances even with our passing missing the player even when they weren't putting pressure on us.

Yeah I was talking more about how they play without the ball than with it, their press makes things pretty ugly and as you say chaotic.

Gotta say it, but I wasn't paticularly impressed with what I saw last night at all. I think Jan made a few good tackles, but other than that I can't think of a good performance from us at all. The speed with which we passed the ball around is just very slow most of the game and when we did make any quick passes it was often put wide to Sissoko and he did fuck all with it. @Don Diaz sorry I didn't see much of you and the others, my dad and cousin were freezing outside so went inside for few beers but my phone was dead as fuck so couldn't contact anyone. I'll be about for the Moscow game though. Let's just hope there's more than just a ropey league spot to play for.

Well that was all a bit pants wasn't it. Sorry I didn't see your post re the meet up @Don Diaz although I didn't get to my seat til 20 minutes in anyway, not that I was bothered. I have no idea why our players make any comments on the lure of the Champions League and then show no interest when they get there. Baffling.
I don't blame the stadium, although I'm sure we would all prefer to be at the lane. These players want to play on the biggest stages then they need to step up when it matters, not bottle it. Although lets be honest, they have a history of bottling it already. Lets hope the return of key players is what's needed. COYS
