Maybe so mate, but he's got something that a lot of our squad don't have, a player that's got the skill to go past players, or is at least more willing to do so.

Oh mate, 100%... I don't not rate him and I'm being a tad harsh as he needs to learn about the physicality of this league... He is a player, he steps past people and breaks the lines and we desperately need someone to do that as Lucas ain't always going to be able to be that guy...

He's just a bit light weight at the minute and needs to stand up in the tackle a bit more and be a bit more aggressive...

I don't need another Romero or Bentancur but some bollox are essential.

That 15 min cameo for Johnson was simply a waste. Did nothing.
He is useless outside the opposition's 6 yard box.
In it, he's a useful fire hydrant that our players can ricochet the ball off. Maybe harsh but he frustrates me.

Again he's a kid and he has ripped out goal scorers charts... But I'm with you his overall contributions are limited at best.

Like a lot of you I watch a good bit of football in the other leagues. I know it’s a cliche but you can’t overstate how physical the PL is compared to say, the Bundesliga. Some players adapt quicker than others. I think Simons is a brilliant player but it’s going to take time.

We gave up 2 terrible goals, but loved the fightback. The football is a work in progress, but i do beleive the team's mentality is stronger this year. Kudus was ridick today. We should have had 4, but a draw at Brighton certainly isn't a disaster.

Errrr, their second was an absolute banger...

Yes he should never have had the ball and yes Vic was flailing round like a teenager shooting his volt for the first time... But that was a hit and a half...

Our OG and Richie banging it at the keeper from 3 yards were far less likely to compete for GOTM.

I think so too. Plenty of small players in the league. They just learn to create that extra half-yard of space for themselves through movement and quick decisions. I saw a documentary about Modric the other day where he was talking about exactly that. Not saying Simons will be anything close to THAT good but I think he’ll be a great signing.

You could see the difference in him between the Villareal & Brighton matches.
Brighton is an athletic & disciplined side yet Simons found that extra step to get beyond them through his ability which includes his field sense. Players such as these are like magicians: they can create their own space & time.
