That's no where near good enough second half... No one came out and Ange has to take that on the chin if he couldn't see that coming, couldn't get them up to just not spunk a 2 goal lead and to change the system to keep us in the game at 2-1...

First half we looked utterly dominant while they looked like letting in 4 or 5... Then switch sides and we look like massive turnips...
The frustrating thing is he doesnt even have to do much. Just little tweaks to to settle things down. He's clearly a talented manager, which makes it all the more frustrating.

Ange is a personality, wise cracks, the journos love him. He is too old, too set in lower league ways. Too stubborn, too rigid in philosophy.
We need a top 4 manager, not a comedian.

Ange was too slow to react today. At 1-2 it was easy to see we needed to get the extra midfielder on but he waited til we were 3-2 down.

Our bench was bollocks today as well nothing on there that's going to change a game in attack.

Bringing Moore on so late was ridiculous

Take off a defender, go with 3 at the back and go for it

If we then lose 4-2 then so be it

I hate his interviews too where he has trouble looking the interviewer in the eye and staring at his feet

I bet he was a limp clammy handshake too

I’m pissed off believe it or not

Well that 2nd half was a tough watch, surrounded by Brighton fans who only started singing (briefly) when they got their 3rd goal.

Way too late with the substitutions but in fairness, not a lot of options.

Yes their crowd was silent most of the game

Agreed. Maybe Biss should’ve come on sooner, and you could argue Moore as well. Personally I’d have stuck Gray on. But none are players you’d see as options to stop the slide after they got on the front foot.

Ange will rightly cop a lot of the blame for this, but we lost duel after duel in the second half, especially on the left. Something looks off with Udogie right now.

The obvious thing missing in this side is a Hojberg. A strong tackling anchorman. We don't have one. Bentancur is very meh imo, he's decent at everything but not brilliant at anything. Sarr and Biss are not strong enough either and it's in that area of the pitch where the real weakness is.
But I was listening to a Celtic fan talking after they were thumped by Dortmund and he said Celtic didn't have a defensive midfielder on the books.
But they were so much better than everybody else in the league that it didn't matter. I just think Ange really has to go into the market in Jan and get a tough nut to sit and throw himself about and never cross halfway.
The difference would be huge but does HE see it ? Hope to fuck he does and so does Levy.

Yeah this 'new' formation we are playing with Kulu and Madders central cries out for more of a Hojberg than a Bentancur. Was pissed when we sold him.

Kulu is far better central

He hasn’t got the pace to play wide especially right but he ended up there before being switched after we went behind

Still fucking pissed off about yesterday but understand individual mistakes do happen, Udogie just had a shocker, it happens, do they always get punished, no, so in that respect, I guess he was a little unlucky.

What is maddening, is that it was obvious Brighton were gonna come out with more purpose and energy in the 2nd half, especially the first 10-15 mins, so why we’re not sitting back and protecting the back 4, to see that period through is just naivety. We’re just as dangerous on the counter than we are forcing the issue.

I love this high line and attacking football but you have to be able to take the sting out of games when necessary, and until Ange learns when to do that, we’ll continue to throw away points, especially away from home. Out 1st priority in terms of transfers, is a decent 6. Fucking International breaks! 🤮

Fuck this club. Seriously.

Good teams don’t lose that game from 2-0 up at HT.

Which includes the manager who stood and did nothing about what was clearly taking place for 20!mins before making subs.

Too late as Brighton had retreated into a form of low block and looked comfortable as they saw the game out.

Second half a poor performance all round

Yeah, Ange has to take his share of the blame for that.

How many times over the last few decades have we put in a shit performance after a Thursday night in Eastern Europe? Obviously the squad was heavily rotated, but we looked jaded in the second half.
