Happy with that,I would describe it as efficient. We just bulldozed them methodically, stayed patient and ground it out.Bonus with scousers and scum dropping, what a difference a week makes.

Good result especially with the rest of the games played. Shame Bournemouth couldn't get anything out of United.

Wouldn't have fancied watching as a neutral lol but we were in control. 1-0 scares me even against a team like that though. One silly mistake and you draw but Son was always gonna score in that game. He was everywhere.

Lamela looked fit during his stint. He needs to relax again though. He was chasing after the ball and getting to close to receive worthwhile passes. He got stuck in though and some of his first touch forward passes were great.

Think we played it exactly right overall. Son has less match time overall so a good stint for him midweek was no drama. Other than that let Sissoko and Lamela who probably won't play at the weekend do the main running, along with the replaceable wingbacks.Keep Vertonghen out of yellow card territory and let Eriksen, winks and Kane slow down a bit to keep something in the tank for the weekend.

Bit of a ground out result overall but well deserved while not burning out our heavy hitters for the weekend.

On to the next!!

I think Poch will be brave at City. He and the team thrive on these big challenges, he mentions it several times in his book.

We may not win, but we won't be short of research, effort, desire and talent. Son is on fire and I think will start, not sure if it will be Lamela or Dele...I also expect Winks and Moussa, rest of the team picks itself.

I agree mate. Roll the dice and have a crack at these oil bastards. If we get opened up and lose 4 zip then so be it but playing scared will get us nowhere.

Fuck 'em I say, Pep and his club are a scourge on all that is good and virtuous. And that guy is a fraud. A massive, massive imposter who is not half the manager that Pochettino is. Hell, give any of us a gazillion pounds and we could buy our way to trophies.

Spurs to win 5-3 in a shootout for the ages.

Lamela may have been getting too close only because he wants it so badly. He's hungry for it & I am very pleased that he has not lost that mentality. I'd rather have him back in that manner as opposed to being tentative or uncertain because he's been out so long.

Alternatively & unfortunately, Sissoko plays as if the ball was a live grenade. Man I wish that guy would just settle down & play like the beast he can be.

Yeah think Lamela was just keen to touch the football.. Poor lad lol!

Unfortunately Sissoko has only been a beast for about 5 games in his career. And that was at the Euros!! He just isn't quick enough in the mind for our game style. Decent enough squad player to have though and to be fair to him he is very athletic and gets about the pitch.
