We were good in patches. Too many heavy touches, missed place passes, and our attackers not at it. City are so good at retaining and recycling the ball. They so rarely give the ball away. Best team won.

It was a good game and it's rare we do go head to head with them as well as that so that's why it's still a bit gutting we lost but I'll get over it.

That’s the point I take from it, we weren’t at our best but we gave them a proper game. Thought they were close to their best, they barely misplaced a pass all night, so thought we stuck at it really well.
Although we didn’t really create a whole lot in terms of chances, we did however waste a host of good positions. Make a proper run now at that top 4.

Just got home & saw the result. Can't say I'm not disappointed but cannot comment on the game. From Ange's comments & those here, we just weren't at it today. Bit of a shame as I thought we could beat them. Their fans feared playing us more than anyone else. Says a lot.

Fear, no daring to do, and yes Hjobjerg was bad as fuck. 1 attempt to their 18, most of our passing was backwards, fucking about trying to play out didn't work, it will never work against a team like City. It was the fucking FA Cup fer fuck's fucking sake, having all 10 outfield players defending means you have to play your way out with those poxy little passes that were nearly always attacked by City resulting in a turnover. A bit of 'Audere est facere' was needed, but Audrey was not at the stadium last night. Have a fucking go or fucking surrender, we surrendered. Yes they only got one goal, so we defended well, Micky was great, all the back four did well (apart from the fucking around playing out bollocks - yeah, I know, it can be a good tactic, and something about strategy, but not in a FA Cup game against city).
They started playing nice football, then when it didn't go their way they played ugly. Moaning, cheating, tantrums, De Bruyne is a petulant, entitled cunt and Foden he's a cunt as well. Guardiola is also a cunt who should have got more than a yellow.

For much of the game, we couldn’t get on the ball and so were forced back deeper than we like to play with nobody in Son’s absence to stretch the play. Very disappointing that we couldn’t trouble them more at home. Personally I kept hoping we’d get more stuck into them physically, but that never happened. We need to master the art of tactical fouling like they have. Under Poch we were the masters of it.
