Maybe we're all wrong...?

Maybe football is just work for H...?

Maybe he doesn't give a fuck about trophies and values his ability to have a nice work life balance. Maybe he isn't a narcissistic money hungry bastard and simply chooses to focus on the much bigger picture of being in a secure job where he is respected and treated very well...?

Maybe he somehow has perspective over his amazing life and can see all the benefits laid infront of him and doesnt want to jeopardise them and moving away where it could all go wrong...?

Maybe that's the conversation he needed to have with the chairman...? Maybe he wanted to swap hair styling tips...? Maybe H is going to be our next manager...?

I'm being silly now, but maybe H doesn't crave titles and trophies. Maybe he just wants to be treated with respect and given the tools to do his job properly...?

Mourinho said in his column for The Sun: ‘Gareth Southgate has said Harry Kane will start tonight and of course he will start, because he is the best.

‘Only in England would you have a little bit of this noise of the best player, the captain, the top goalscorer, to be on the bench because he didn’t score a goal in two or three matches.

‘I don’t think you have the same noise if Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t score for Portugal or Kylian Mbappe for France or Romelu Lukaku for Belgium.

‘With Harry, I would ask, ‘How many chances has he missed?’ Zero. ‘How many crosses have been delivered to him?’ Zero. ‘How many vertical passes into his feet, in between the lines?’ Zero. How many times has he had triangles with the two wingers coming inside and making that combination with him?’ Zero.

‘In Portugal, everyone is blaming Nelson Semedo for Portugal losing to Germany because the goals arrived down his side, but the situation would have been the same whoever was right-back.

‘It was not Semedo but the situation Semedo was put in.

‘For Gareth to take off Harry with 15 minutes to go against Scotland was absolutely normal, to bring a fresh player to try to create a new problem.

‘He went with Marcus Rashford, or he could have done it with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, because he is better in the air, but the game was more tight so he tried with Rashford.

‘That’s normal if you have good players on the bench. The rules allow for five changes. You have 12 players and a bench full of talent.

‘You look to the left and to the right and you could even feel confused — Rashford or Calvert-Lewin? Grealish or Jadon Sancho?

‘It’s normal with 15 minutes to go, I don’t think there’s any problem with that.

‘But you leave Kane out of the starting line-up and play who? Calvert-Lewin? Good player. Rashford? Good player.

‘But Harry Kane is the best.’

Gareth Southgate cannot manage for shit.

This England team is half-decent in spite of him. Not because of. Again Kane was playing deep...why? With us it makes sense because we need him to both create and score. For England he has an abundance of guys who can create. He needs to be getting touches in the box, not on the halfway line.

Dumb fucking management of the world's best player. Stupid.

Mourinho is a clown but he's right in this case. 100% on the money.

Kane stinking up the place again against Germany.

You'd almost wonder if he's deliberately having a shit tournament to lower his transfer value and get a move away.

The Spurs side is built around him and his strengths...

The England team is seemingly chucked together without anything that resembles a plan and definitely not one that revolves around potentially the best striker in the world...

It's difficult to knock team selections but we do not have the players on the field to give Lane the ammunition to fire the gun...

For me I'd have Declan Rice on the fucking plane home and play either Grealish or Saka through the middle supporting the forwards and Philips or Henderson holding...

I'd the have Foden and Stirling doing their thing out wide and where necessary have Trios and Walker as wingback...

Maguire is a fucking knacker who should be accompanying Rice where as Stones has imo been fucking quality...

Southgate again playing to Kane's weaknesses.

The great man scored in spite of him.

Italy or Belgium will rip this England team apart given the chance, unless Southgate gets off the fence with his team selection. Grealish must start. That game changed the moment he came on.

This, nailed it and Foden as first sub for creativity.

Harry Kane has made no secret of his desire to win trophies and that is fair enough given his ability.

Would captaining the winning Euro team satisfy him enough that he wants to stay for the next year or two to see what happens? Winning the Euros as captain of England would guarantee his iconic status forever.

I don't think so. Imagine him and Garth El Bale sitting in the dressing room "Oh haven't you got a Champions League winners medal boyo, I've got four, do you want to borrow one?". I think he wants, needs and deserves Premier League and Champions league medals.

To which he replies “I’m a Euro winning captain wif a fucking knighthood and the all time Premier League goals record. Now carry my clubs to the next green you stupid cunt.”

Or words to that effect.

I'm sure if he wins the Euros Betty will be bashing him on the shoulder with a sword. I'd like it if he told the head of the Windsor crime family to fuck off, but of course he would never do that.

I think his future is going to be interesting because of the current financial climate.

Guardiola has been quoted as saying City will not be "held to ransom" over a new striker. And he said this ..

“At the prices [quoted] we are not going to buy any strikers. It is impossible, we cannot afford it.

“All clubs are struggling financially; we are not an exception.”

So does Kane find himself in a rather unique/bizarre situation of being too good to be sold ?. At his current level, I think he's certainly worth in excess of £100m for sure, but that limits his options to probably no more than 3 clubs - City, Barcelona and possibly Chelsea in the current world we're in.

He absolutely deserves to win titles and trophies, which he's likely not going to do with us, so how does he get a move away?.

Handing in a proper trader request. Quitting full stop until sold to city.

Dear Leader isn't duty bound to accept a transfer request though.

And I think Kane would have more professionalism in him to just down tools because he's got 3 years left on his contract. I suppose his only real bargaining chip would be if the rumours of a 'gentleman's agreement' for one more season are true, although even saying that, dear leader would likely just look at him and say "So what?".

Interesting few days in the gossip columns. The feeling seems to be that we've told United that we'll accept £100m plus two players for Kane - one being Jesse Lingard.

It would be a strange move if it came off because I don't honestly see United unseating City any time soon for the Premier League or Champions League.

It does. He's apparently got 3 weeks off and is due to report back to us around the 2nd of August if nothing happens, but then the transfer window doesn't close until the end of august i think.

Every transfer window there's rumours and quotes from sources about swap deals and players plus cash, have there ever actually been any of these deals actually done?
