Great to see him back on the training pitch. It's just vital he doesn't return until he's 100% ready. Luckily with the added depth we've got this season we aren't forced to rush him back. Have no doubt he'll hit the ground running when he does return.
Yeah and that without Vincent scoring a goal. To return to the point @Basskadet made when Harry was injured in the first place, he looked knackered in the games leading up to the injury, and this may well be a net positive in the long run. Depth creates selection and man management headaches for the manager but it also relieves him of the responsibility of making difficult calls about players who may be less than 100%. I hope we'll see him sooner than later, but Poch will not feel any pressure to get him back.

The great thing is that we have been doing so well despite Kane's injury, so Harry should feel no pressure coming back. Imagine if, instead, we had struggled the moment Kane got injured, we'd all be watching and waiting for Kane's comeback to save us and pull us back into contention.

However, that is not the case and we've stayed unbeaten in all competitions since Kane got injured, so he can come straight in and just enjoy the ride. When you combine that with the fact he'll have had a rest, it might prove to be the perfect storm for us!

Also, whilst Janssen has done well on the ball, he's not scored a single goal - the goals had come from elsewhere (Sonny and Dele mainly). That means that whilst we won't feel reliant on Harry's return, neither can him coming back into our team cause us to be any less efficient in front of goal than we are right now with Janssen. Basically, with Kane coming back in we'll either do as well as we are already, or better. Given the lack of pressure on him, and him FINALLY having a bit of a break, hopefully we'll do better, and that is a mouth-watering thought!

http://www.thefa.com/news/2016/nov/13/harry-kane-squad-update-england-spain-131116
Harry Kane has been released from the England squad ahead of Tuesday's game against Spain.

Interim manager Gareth Southgate confirmed that the decision had been made based on the fact that Kane only recently returned from a long-term ankle injury.
"Harry reported for us last week but obviously he hadn't played a full game for some seven weeks," Southgate told FATV at the squad's base in Hertfordshire.

"Tottenham were more than happy for him to come with us. It was never really my intention to start him in a game and I think it's important that he gets a different training program to what we're going to follow over the next couple of days.

"I'm really grateful to Tottenham for letting us have him for the qualifier. Once we'd assessed our injury status and the fact we were fine and covered for what we'd do for this game, the sessions that we're going to do aren't what Harry needs at this time, having had such a long lay-off."

I'd post a link to the newspaper articles regarding the apparent stalling of contract talks but that's beyond my meagre capabilities, and I'm sure you're all aware of it so I'll just press on with my point regardless.

Putting to one side the fact that the reports have surfaced in the worst rag on the planet, other journos have backed the stories up and I think there's more in this than we'd like to believe.

It's got to the stage where it's not just the usual suspects that we are lagging behind in the wages department. I have no doubt his agent is banging on at him about how much Sturridge and Vardy are getting, along with a few others, nevermind the really really top earners at the super rich clubs.

If we are to believe he is currently earning somewhere in the £60-70k region, then compared to the reported £120k for Vardy and £140k for Sturridge it's laughable. He's the current golden boot winner and it's not just one season. Fucks sake even Palace are paying Benteke £100k.

The only argument people seem to be able to offer currently is the old "he's one of our own" bollocks. Kane isn't stupid. Neither is his agent. He's a brilliant player and he's an England starter. He's a vice captain at a champions league club. And he's a striker, the most marketable position on the pitch. He'd command upwards of £150k with no trouble whatsoever and there are plenty of clubs he could get that at and who would take him right now.

I guess the ball is firmly in the chairmans court. I hope he makes the right choice. COYS

I think the majority of these rumours, including Lloris is bored sports journalists. Harry and Hugo have plenty of time left on their existing contracts.

Also, he they do wait until the end of the season, the club may be in the ECL again, which gives them better leverage in requesting a higher amount per week.

I am sure, especially with Kane, that it will never be about the money. With Hugo, other than a return to France (With PSG) I cannot see him moving to a club who need a keeper that are better than Spurs

According to the rags the 'bone of contention' is that Sissoko is on £95k a week (which I doubt very much). There's no story here, it's a quiet couple of weeks that's all. I'm sure Harry and Hugo and whoever else is up for contract talks will get there in good time.

I read somewhere that our average wage bill is now £56k a week, I'm not sure that's true either, especially if Harry was on a reported £60k.

Academy graduate Kane is being linked with a move to Manchester United

'A lot of people are going to speculate about contracts but I am happy. I'm flattered by the link with Manchester United. I think it shows that I am doing well. I'm happy at the club.

'There are not many better feelings than being at White Hart Lane and scoring in a London derby. I am happy at the club and want to be here for a long, long time.

'We are in talks and I'm sure we will get something sorted. I'm not panicking.

'We're having a conversation and I have no doubts that we will get it sorted. As I say, I want to be here for a long time and I am sure I will. I am happy here.

'Hopefully we will have no issues with the contract. Get that down and get that wrapped up. I'm fully concentrated on playing for Tottenham and winning for Tottenham.'

We are delighted to announce that Harry Kane has signed a new contract with the Club, which will run until 2022.

The home-grown striker, 23, is the current Premier League Golden Boot holder after scoring 25 goals in the top flight last season - a Club record haul for one player in an individual Premier League campaign - and was one of four Spurs players named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year for 2015-16.

After rising through our academy, Harry made his first team debut against Hearts in the Europa League in August, 2011 and he has since gone on to score 70 goals in 137 appearances in our colours.

Born locally in Walthamstow, Harry has also established himself as a senior England international over the last two years, memorably scoring just 79 seconds into his Three Lions debut against Lithuania at Wembley in March, 2015. Harry represented England at Euro 2016 and currently has 17 caps and five goals to his name.

I doubt very much that it's over £100k a week and wouldn't be surprised if it were a little less....at this rate in a few years he will have signed another 4 contracts and be earning £200k a week.

Good news day.....Line Hugo up!

I expect it'll be there or there about's with a very decent goal scoring bonus. All of this he very much deserves. I couldn't believe how many Spurs fans believed he wasn't going to sign a contract, even my best mate who happens to be a gooner said after the wet spam the other week "you've landed right on your feet with HK, he's spurs through and through and will likely go on to beat Shearers record if he stays at Spurs". I mean if even a gooner can see this how can other spurs fans not see it?!?!?!?!"? Anyway it doesn't matter now he's signed!!!!

He's one of our own, or did we forget. Well, most people with working grey matter didn't forget, but you have to forgive those that did :p

Quite funny how 2 season wonder Kane has scored more goals in last 2 games than vardy has in 19! Oh and Vardy is on Bbc personality of year shortlist!

I really believe he will be here for a long time! He just says and does the right thing, he seems like such a likeable guy. We should make the most of it get him some support, keep building the team and future is good

Last year really was everything clicking at once for Leicester. As well as losing Kante, many of their players have reverted to their mean performance level, they've had to deal with more fixtures and teams have actually not given Vardy half a field to run into.
