Yeah, we need two CBs as cover, really 3 if we're three in the back. If anyone is loaned it ought to be CCV.
toby, jan, dier, wimmer, davies maybe wanyama at a pinch if CCV wasnt around?

Probably could do with an extra right footed CB, since Toby is so good in the middle of a 3.

Only leaves Dier to play RCB.

This is the issue with having good players... ones that are also very good cop a wobble when they don't get a game and fuck off.

Wimmer is decent, we've all seen that. It'd be a shame to loose him but for his own career I understand a move.

If we pay cray cray dough they won't bitch as much for a while, but sooner or later they'll want more than cash and that's a crack at silerware if they are as good as they and we think they are.

Gotta trust in the Poch init.

Good deal for everyone involved. The lads clearly talented so now he gets the opportunity for regular football and develop further, something I don't think he would have got at us. Chuffed for him.

Got to be said, cracking bit of business for us fee wise. Signed in 2015 for £4.3m, just 15 premier league appearances later sold for £18m. He will prove to be a very good player and worth every penny of that to Stoke imo. Hope we've got a cheeky buy back clause in there ;)

All the best and good luck Big Kev!

Good business all round to be honest. Mad ea tidy profit which in reality has already been spent on Sanchez but ultimately I don't think he was best suited to the back three as much as Sanchez and he's never getting a regular spot in a back 4 as Jan and Toby are the dogs danglies. He'll do well at Stoke and people will say we're silly to have sold but they haven't seen how poor he was ina back 3 compared to how good he was in a back four a season earlier when Jan was out. Good servant to the club in his short time here especially with the lack of games he had, never complained, no fuss, worked hard in training and was thee when we needed him. Good luck Kev.

We'll regret that I reckon.
I don't think we will as he was shit in aback 3 which Poch seems to wannna play plus Sanchez is stronger faster and generally a better player. Wimmer is good but he's not regular title contender good, which is what we want.

Oh Sanchez is better... before he has kicked a ball.

Understood.

We haven't signed a player who's never kicked a ball, have we?!?!? He's faster, stronger and a better ballplayer than Wimmer is, also bags a few goals for defender too.

The relevance of Gilberto is?

Surely you must know that this guy has actually kicked a ball before and don't hoenstly think Poch would get rid of Wimmer and buy Sanchez if he was worse? In fact forget Poch would Levy honestly break our transfer record on a centre back (who's one of the best young CB's in the world) if he wasn't better than a sluggish centre back who's OK with his feet but a beast in the air....

Again WTF Gilberto got to do with the discussion?

Wimmer served us well, came in to the team in 15/16 and did a brilliant job when called upon. But Wimmer is no Alderweireld or Vertonghan.

Should we have kept him, yep...but if you were a 24 year old footballer who given a chance proved yourself but knew your chances moving on would be limited, would you want to sit on the sub's bench or play every week for a PL Team?

Probably a move made by the players choice rather then the clubs.

I wish him well and believe he will be an awesome CB over the next few years.

Gilberto who the same as Sanchez came to Spurs with a huge reputation and had never kicked a ball in the Prem........ dunno if you remember but he was utter shite. That's the relevance.

We don't know shit until he lines up and out performs what Wimmer DID, which was in fact slot perfectly into deputise for one of the best CB pairings the Prem has seen for the last 2 seasons at least. Wimmer HAS done it for us, he MAY go onto do it for Stoke while Sanchez has currently done fuck all for us.

Sanchez MAY be the next big thing he MAY be better than Wimmer, fuck he MAY be better than Toby... and then you'd be spot on. I genuinely hope you are right, but I think all it takes is for him to continue to be as much of a liability in London as he was in Ajax (previous performance is the best indicator of future performance) and for one of our CB pairing to pick up a knock (again likely as above) for us to regret selling big Kev, hence my comment.

I trust the manager 100% but this has all the hallmarks of a Levy'esq deal (I don't know this it's just my speculation). The kid has been a trouble maker but also a very decent prospect form what I have read. He is a perfect Levy buy as you have articulated in your post. Some issues that some clubs wernt prepared to deal with so all Levy has to do is iron out the kinks, get him some Prem experience and he is on an earner.

That is what relevance Gilberto has as Sanchez currently has done precisely the same as him... fuck all (although it could be argued by actually playing for Spurs he helped move us backwards and Sanchez hasn't done that..... yet ).

I remember Gilberto being turd, I remember what Wimmer did perfectly well too and he sucked in a back 3 and was good next to Toby for a couple of months a couple seasons ago, that's it. Wimmer was OK and could get a bit better with a bit more time but he'll still be slow and pretty poor on the ball at times. Like I say I don't need to see him play ion this league to see he's bigger and stronger than Wimmer, he's faster than Wimmer and has more potential than Wimmer. Wimmer was a decent servant for the club but nothing special and wouldn't get near any other top 6 teams defence ever. Dunno why people think Wimmer was so great, he was OK that's it. he did well for a couple of months when Jan was out two season ago and pony in the back 3 last season so we went back to playing Dier there when we played it because Wimmer was too slow to play the position and seemed like playing hoof ball when Poch likes to play from the back. Sanchez will be the nuts, you'll see.

I haven't seen enough of Sanchez (just a handful of EL games) to make an educated statement about him, but it does show a tremendous amount of confidence in him (or a total lack of confidence in Wimmer) to get rid at this point.

On another note, God Gilberto was horrible.

Off topic but at that very moment in time Sandro was utterly perfect for us. He was kinda the start if the modern day midfield holding destroyer type player. The blueprint for the Wanyama, Kante etc. Gatuso was the original but he turned out to be a top level cunt.
