Janssen needs one of the backside into the net at this rate. Everything else is quality from this guy, just needs a bit of luck with his next chance

Really think we have been excellent. Can't believe we won't score tonight tbh. Unlucky to be behind at their house with the wee extension.

Agreed, I thought we have shown we have the better squad depth. They are fortunate to have Sturridge and Origi up top, no one else offers anything.

Well, the second half has been all sorts of disappointing.

Penalty is a huge lifeline for us, well taken by the big man

Right, let's hammer them for the last 10 minutes.

Leave it all on the pitch

I think Quinn has a magic 8 ball filled with commentary quotes

Before he speaks, he shakes the damn thing and reads it out.

One day, he will say 'not at this time' and my theory will be proved

fair play, they probably deserved the win tonight. have to admit though, everything good that came from them, was from a mistake from us.

harrison then >.< talk aboot setting the game alite! still, he will have many more chances.

onomah dropped off after i said he looked hungry, janssen looks like he is going to explode and carter-vickers will be a cracking player.

on to the next...

Valiant effort on the most part. Another couple of years and he would have brought that down of the chest and rifled it into the top corner.

Winks looked excellent. Already appears to have overtaken Carrol in ability. Good things expected in the future.

At least the result will keep the media away from us and continue on the Klopp hype train.

They are no better than under Rodgers IMO, just run a bit more

Cant really fault the youngsters tonight. More than matched them for the majority of the game. Only criticism? Id like to have seen us have a few shots from distance, Ive never rated minger

2 things before I hit the sack.
Big shout out to Vorm thought he was excellent.
And Klopp is one arrogant tosser.
Oh and a 3rd thing.
Jamie Redknapp! For the love of god man, stop talking shite and go home to the missus. She's banging that dancer bloke on strictly. You just know she is.

Good effort overall, Origi and Sturbridge obviously the difference. Unfortunately the network lost the satellite feed over here so I didn't see the first half, but it looks here like we played well in the first, better than in the second?

Haven't seen the game yet....away working in Italy, seems like a fair result judging by comments on here, how did the younger players do, Winks is getting all the praise?

Winks looked decent although got booked for an iffy tackle on Ings late on but will be a good player in time to come I'm sure. Thought Onomah wasn't at his best today, wasn't bad but have seen better from him, just seemed to take a second too long to make decisions. Both Onomah and N'Koudou could have tried to beat the full backs a bit more as we lacked crosses into the box and Jansen with Carroll in behind him wasn't creative enough through the middle.

Overall it was a so-so kind of performance, a few kids looked good but probably not quite ready for the big step up yet. CCV was good at the back too. But I'd have to say the better team in the day won. Although he never gets much credit for Liverpool I thought Lucas showed great experience and lead the younger Liverpool players well. The difference was the experience they had in the middle and the two players they had up top had a bit of pace.

Got to feel for N'Koudou, slipped over, no fault of his own.

A good effort but they shaded it.

Priceless coments too by @conor1!

Do what, do what, do what? I thought it was a great performance, these blokes for the most part are kids just starting out or 2nd choicers not used to playing in big games like this. Yeah of course it hurts getting beaten by the dippers but to be beaten by just one goal at their hovel with players like Sturridge on form - or not maybe, he could have got 4 or 5, that is not even remotely 'crap' in my opinion.

10 changes from the 1st 11 is always going to be a death or glory thing innit? The kids will have learned a lot from this game and the 'rusty'players like Wimmer have got some needed game time. In real life the Poch is not going to be making 10 changes and the players he selected last night showed that they can be relied on to step up when needed. Expecting our 2nd team to be as good as our first team is stretching our brain things to breaking point.

It was a proper cup game, mental pace, exciting and showed that we have some fucking good players waiting for their first team opportunities. If the team on the pitch last night was our usual 1st team then maybe, just maybe I would not object to criticism, but they weren't them blokes and they had a good old go at winning.

Vorm was not crap. Trippier was not crap. Winks was not crap. Onomah was not crap - unless you believe what the total wankers in the other place say. CCV was not crap. None of them were crap.I already know how good Davies and Wimmer are, Carol was probably the least effective of our players but that was due to the type of game, I still think he can be useful in more 'beautiful football' types of games.

I never take any notice of cup defeats, they are not the same games as PL games, they are often decided by luck, like last night, not a big deal. How about our travelling fans lsst night? Fucking good job chaps, outsinging the dippers to the end, top job!

I aggree with the Poch, great effort, shame about the result - we couldn't reallistically compete in 4 competitions anyway so we can focus on winning the CL now.

I say it how I see it. We can't all agree. I'm not going full meltdown like the other place probably is.

And I'm not knocking the effort put in.

Or the travelling support

Or the performances of 4 or 5 of the players.

We're out of a cup we could've won.

It's crap.

Of course mate, so do I. There have never been enough days left in my life to get upset about cup exits, they're like a little tiny lottery win for me, a really nice bonus when we win them, but I don't ever worry about the pesky, unpredictable things. I remember the day I won £10 on the lotto, oh how I celebrated! We still have the FA Cup and Champions League to win (and the PL title of course),so happy days.

Me too mate, I thought 'this is too easy, I'll give up my job and just but a handful of lotto tickets every week - sorted!' It's like when I was a kid I had 6 old pence each way on Red Alligator in the National, I think I won 17/6 which was a fortune to a 12 year old! I remember wondering why my dad had to go to work (as if he fucking did!) when all you had to do to get money was send yer ma down to the bookies with a shilling!

There first win against us in the EDLeagueMilkyCarlingWorthingtonCup thingy since 82, when they fouled and conned there way at Wembley (was a nice curling goal by Whelan (I think) to there credit).

Poch gameplan went wrong, sadly, he obviously knew Sturidge would be playing and quite rightly assumed he would break a toenail at some point and would never last the 90 minutes.

But 25/10/16 was the day when Sturidges toenails stayed intact and the rest is history.

We move on, gutted though.

I ain't seen the game bruv, I just literally hate the dippers more than.....

Well anything.

Some reserve that for the scum, some for the pikeys, some for the Chavs...

I save every bitter moment, every angry word and vile thought for these pricks.

I saw the team we fielded so I assumed it was a b side/kids game and they'd stuck in a little more experience.

Shame were out but looking at the positives we can focus on the bigger fish we have to fry. like qualifying for the CL, keeping players fresh and consolidating our league form
