At least with this one out of the way, we have played most of our top 4 rivals twice. So that's a positive?

Other than that, defend with 9 and hope Kane and Son do their thing.....I can't see Jose doing it any other way.

Just hope we cut out the individual mistakes, take our chances and show the same character we have shown during the positive parts of the season

Oh, and give Winks the weekend off

Nailed it. At the moment Lamela has to play, split ends and a broken nail not withstanding, probably at the expense of Bergwijn. Might need Sissoko to lumber around at the back with Hojbjerg.

Probably 6-2-1-1

Hugo
Sissoko, Aurier, Toby, Dier, Davies, Lamela
TND, Hojbjerg
Son
Kane

Poor Erik. Broken nails ? Ah jesus. And him only getting his bacterial vaginosis sorted.
Agree though. He has to play. And cant see anything other than a 9 man defence. Personally, I think we should try and out muscle them and attempt to pin THEM back. But maybe that's me being just a tad optimistic. But why not ? Everybody let's them have the ball, they WILL score against you if you gift it to them. So why not surprise them & have a fucking go ?

To get anything out of the game we have to go at them...

And let's face it going down swinging is better than going down whimpering in your own 18 yard box.

I don't mind us being "sensible" in these types of games but I also feel we have what it takes to hurt them.

I'd understand that if we had something to loose...however were (quite rightly) expected to loose so a result against them is phenomenal and would give us points that those around us also wouldn't expect to pick up.

And it's way more entertaining...!

I propose a compromise. We come out full attack and if (as expected) we get torn a new one and are 3-0 down at HT, we come out and play Jose ball 2nd half to limit the damage!

Well we could do that and it would surprise not only Pep, Manchester City and their fans, but the rest of the world as well....who knows it might even work for 5 minutes but after 95 minutes we'd probably lose 7-3. The Everton game showed that our defence is 'fragile' eh? And City are the best, probably in Europe at retaining possession and hurting you.

Mourinho will point to the fact that we have already beaten them once this season and stopped them from scoring. Ok it was early in the season and we had a fully fit fresh squad, plus Aurier had his one good game for a season in that match. It goes against my general Spurs philosophy but the winning tactic against Sovereign Wealth City, is 6-3-1 and hit them with Sonny on the counter. He loves a game against City that lad - there now you've forced me to put the mockers on it.........

City 1-2 Spurs

Bang on.

Lamela must play. His shithousery and general willingness to get amongst it is going to be critical.

If we sit back, we will lose. It’s that simple. Forget recent smash and grab successes against this lot. Those results were outliers.

May as we have a go. We might lose 7-2 going for it but that’s fine. It’s preferable to sitting back and inviting them in.

FWIW I think we’ll lose 5-0 and Jose will be sacked afterwards.

I think what he has done in his last 2 performances has set a tone... set an ethic... set a tempo for us to play at.

He's as one footed as an argentine pirate but he runs like fuck, doesn't mind sticking one on the opposition or taking one either and keeps Gareth "walking football" Bale out of the squad all day fucking long.

He needs to start every match until he succumbs to another injury. Fast becoming my favourite non-star.

´twould be nice to have a proper 10 instead, but we have to split those duties between our striker, our DM and our shithousery specialist.

I seem to recall a Jose quote from years back to the effect of "If I haven't got a hunting dog, I will hunt with a cat." He's got a whole feral pack of them, let's throw some sand in that finely-tuned machine.

Apologies for the mixed metaphor and all, but I live in hope, and still get excited once in a while.

Lamela will either score or get sent off. Either way, he's certain to get injured.

What a frustrating career he's had with us. IMO he's the most naturally talented player we have, but it's countered by his lopsidedness, brittleness and having a screw loose.

So many questions:

Win 1-2 or lose 6-0?
Son to Kane or Kane to Son for our first goal?
Aurier or Dier to give away the penalty?
Rodri or Fernandinho to kick TND into submission?

It's ridiculous and makes me wonder if I'm about to have a catastrophic health event, but something tells me we're going to win.

I would NOT play Dier in this one. Toby and Rodon for me. Shame we won't have Reguilon for this one. Have a hunch we will win this one. No idea why. delusional and all.

I'd be surprised if Jose doesn't go 3-5-2 mainly due to his awful, shite, cynical, negative, cuntish, anti Spursy football bollocks kind of philosophy!!!..........just sayin...

Breaking News Re Lamela:

Without a doubt, Erik Lamela has been one of Spurs most ferociously feminal players. But given EL's history of so many gender specific issues which have plagued him for years & were a source of frustration, physically & emotionally, to fans, the club, & the person, something had to be undertaken.

Hence, EL has committed to a change.
This is a long continuum that involves various stages.
To hasten EL's evolution, he has opted to forego the Non-Binary (enby) which acts as a brief period of emotional stabilization prior to transitioning to a more somatic alteration. This phase will act as EL's cocoon period where a massive horse-like genitalia will develop, incubate, & eventually protrude from & thus replace EL's vagina.

This should theoretically alleviate any further feminine issues (but, according to numerous long suffering married women, opens up a whole other can of worms). This formal emergence as a "Man's Manly Man" should be extremely pleasing to fans & club alike. No more niggling vaginal redness, itching, discharge, odour, or other far more more complex issues that have greatly inhibited EL's time & performance on the pitch.

Imagine.
Lamela more manly.
But my one initial reservation was, "what he may be like with the elimination of his PMS aggressiveness"? We males know its wrath.

On further thought, never mind. His thoroughbred balls will more than compensate. All I can say is "Look Out".

*this post in not intended to offend any male or female or any being in between.

My God, I just wasted 6 minutes & 37 seconds of my life on this ridiculous post. FML. Lamela, just succeed in whatever incarnation you choose.

Like the attacking line up though. Reckon we’ll need to score 3 at least to win this.
