For anyone else that's still on a high this morning...albeit were only just into October, and in the vein of the heading in the right direction thread, it's worth mentioning a couple of things:
We won without 3 of our best players last season - Kane, Dier and Dembele
I wasn't convinced that Sissoko and Wanyama would add much to the squad, more than just being good 'cover' and a possible notch up on Bentaleb and Mason, who I had plenty of time for, now I don't even know what our best first XI is....!!
The current euphoria after yesterday and last season is such a huge contrast to the recent embarrassments of being trounced by City and Liverpool under AVB
Poch is transforming this club's belief and playing style which is why so many players are committing to him and his ethos, it really feels like a long term vision and their own free will.
The form of so many players seems to have risen beyond belief. I thought a season or two back that Walker for example, had reached his peak...clearly he hadn't and is now probably the best right back in the league, same on the other side with Rose, but equally Vertonghen, Son, Dembele have all responded to the challenges laid down presumably by Poch.
This current squad can really go places, we have big tests to come, but having already played Everton away, Liverpool and City, second in the league, having beaten Pep's leaders is not false in anyway. I almost wish we could play Chelsea, Arsenal and United in quick succession and smash that lot as well, it feels like we could beat anyone at the moment.

Great times again so far this season. Long may it continue because I'd love to see the core of this team doing it in the new Stadium, what an exciting future for those of us that have been around for a few years.

But we only drew with liverpool&everton so we are shit eh??

Its absolutly tremendous, despite what everyone says we are the 6th highest spenders on wages and 2nd to last (swansea) on net transfer spend over 5 years and we are smashing what would be par for the course. This lot may even exceed the 80-84 era,but some brasso will have to be required for trophies!but its not far away is it??

We go into every game now as at least equals. Whereas in previous years we would've been underdogs against Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and in certain years other clubs I don't think we are underdogs home or away against anyone in this league. An amazing rise over the last 10 years. The club is stable, thriving and on the up.

There's some great pics and tweets on Twitter today, I like the players comments about the noise from the fans yesterday.

He's gradually perfecting about 10 different answers to use.... regardless of the question.
Yeah his interviews are a bit like his contract extension photo ops with the players. I get the feeling his team talks are a little more interesting though...

Great performance and result. Tough to believe that we've only conceded 3 goals in 7 games so far. Best defensive in the league by quite a bit up to now. Very very early days, but if managed to maintain that until the end of the season it would he incredible. I never thought in my lifetime I'd hear the words Spurs and best defensive together once, 2 seasons consecutively would be mind blowing. Still unbeaten as well.
This game was made even more impressive by the fact City had been flying up until now. The reviews are talking about we had Kane out, but not many mention we also had Dembele out who is key for us and also Dier, although I feel Wanyama is proving to be a sound alternative for him
COYS, we should be full of confidence now.
The best defence thing is utterly mind bogling. Years of scoring goals for fun but being so shit at the back it counted for fuck all.

I'd splash serious cash on a guaranteed goal machine (Augero) if I had fiscal control.

Fuck it.

Still can't get over how brilliant Wanyama was. He was absolutely everywhere and outside of the one tackle on Aguero didn't really put a single foot wrong. To think that he was initially signed for depth.....he's become so much more than that. Absolute masterclass performance.

We've got one of those....but he's injured at the moment so someone else has taken his place...it's all good here, especially as neither of them cost £200,000 a week!

I noticed this as well. I'm always analysing his interviews and the language he uses, other foreign managers as well but especially Poch of course. You can tell he often doesn't get the exact question, but he caches the drift of it and he knows what to say so that it sounds like he answered it. Definitely lots of pre rehearsed sentences.
No fault on the man, his English is actually pretty decent, but I guess I'm one of the very few who would have preferred it if he'd continued with his only Spanish interviews, as I'd have got everything he said and he'd be a lot more capable of expressing exactly what he'd want to.

Currently he could answer in Chinese if he wanted to and he'd still be the messiah for most of us...but I get your point, and the responses would be more enlightening. There was a definite contrast between Poch and Guardiola in their responses. I think one of the reasons is that managers and players alike are coached to give bland answers in the UK so that they are not picked on and quoted out of context in the media, who are forever looking to fill the back pages with rumour and gossip - the penalty squabble for example, or where is Wimmer? 8 times out of 10 managers and players give the same old 'they're a great team....tough to beat....important to get the three points.....never an easy game in the Premier league....' type answers. It's boring. Poch uses 'our philosophy....work hard' type stuff a lot. I thought it was refreshing that Guardiola didn't blame anyone of his players, the referee, or anyone else, simply choosing to compliment Poch, Tottenham and our tactics last weekend. Martinez used to do this too, but I can't remember many others.

Yep, Pep like Poch, is a classy dude. And it's refreshing to see. Pep's English is just significantly better.
