Royal my man of the match.
Nah, Hoijberg was class... Royal probably had his best game but Pirre showed Bentancur up today IMO... he looked very leggy when Citeh turned over the ball and didn't get stuck in to get goal side... not what I would expect from him and I think he upped it 2nd half or slightly changed his position so he was goal side more...

Fucking Lloris' kicking at the end... what's this cunt sproblem...?

H... why is it just us who sees this once in a generation striker as the worlide he is... why doesn't Levy back the team on the field to supply him and Sonny the bullets they need to win us some trophies... thats all it'd need... a real Ericsson replacement... and we're golden.

Just out of interest, does anyone else think that Kulu’s looked a little leggy over the last month or so, feels like he’s still not 100%. Something just seems a little off with him.

I love seeing us play well... it makes me so happy... effort, grit, passion, skill...

It doesn't take a lot to make me happy.

Again. We are playing the same way, but applying it better. Like we did the last half of last season.

It has nothing to do with Conte not being there, it’s the players finally getting their finger out and doing it properly.

Ever since the meeting prIor to Fulham, has shown Conte has got the players to back themselves am
I agree, and we also usually well against city, because there’s space to counter in.

There’s nothing mystical about being a bogey team for them over the last few years, Pep himself said after the game we’re a terrible opponent for them.

As someone who has never been to the new stadium yet I have to say I’ve been underwhelmed by the noise and atmosphere on the TV. Not today, it sounded deafening throughout.

Tough one mate, him or Pierre.

Back to back games now for Emmerson, where he actually looks like an accomplished defender. Still feel he lacks that attacking threat, that Porro will give us.

I thought some of his attacking play was quite good. There were a couple of little flicks and slide passes that kept us moving and the fact that he pushed on meant that Grealish had to do a lot of defending. Royal was outstanding today.

Romero absolutely destroyed that cyborg too. Cyborg had zero shots and zero touches in the Spurs penalty area.

All in all, every single player committed themselves today. It was as good as we have played all season.

Apparently (not surprisingly) it was the first time he's been held without a shot this season. He was totally anonymous after Romero kicked him up in the air.

Missed the match but pleased with the result &, gauging from the comments here, with the manner in which it was achieved.

It was a fantastic match, we deserved that win, we went at them from the off and worked really hard for the whole game. City created very little - Mahrez had that 1 great chance but second half we had two or three excellent chances and 2-0 would not have been unjust.

The atmosphere just grew and grew throughout the game as we continued to fight, tackle, run and get in their face. It was reminiscent of the Arsenal game at the end of last season. The whole stadium was rocking by the end, brilliant.

So frustrating that we don't put that work rate in every week, we would win so many more games if we did. For me that kind of effort should be a given every week. Once a week, maybe twice for athletes in their 20's is not too much to ask surely? COYS

LEVY OUT

Can Conte have something else removed and stay away a bit longer?

Playing better under Stellini than I’ve seen us play under Conte for some time.
I do find it noteworthy that those who have performed poorly recently (Emerson, Dier, Son in particular) seemed to fare far better without the incessant micromanagement from the touchline.

Don’t disagree with this mate. Just feel Porro will be that little bit more dynamic going forward.

I thought this to. All the pundits saying we played a perfect game of 'Conte ball', but the fella wasn't even there. Were the players able to naturally play his game when he isn't jumping around the touchline barking crap at them?!

I'll be honest... I didn't think we had that performance in us... I didn't think the players could do that...

Very very happy hut they've just shown what they're capable of... they've set a new bar and I will be pissed if we fail to meet that standard going forwards...

Speaking of micro-management.
These guys are seasoned professionals who have played & been coached at the highest levels growing up & through their pro years. You'd think they'd have a very good grasp of field awareness by now. They'd know what they are going to do at least one or two moves ahead. Yet they have Conte in their ear PLUS his exaggerated gesticulations probably sending them contradictory messages.

I'd certainly find it more of a hinderance than help. Just let me play my game.

Here's a question: If they didn't listen to Conte sideline wishes, would he get offended? Maybe that's where the players get conflicted & caught between two minds. "I was going to do this, but he wants me to do that. Now what? Will I be benched like Spence?". That slight hesitation in decision making probably costs them an opportunity.

Totally agree with this. It is one thing to scream out overall tactics, but constant micromanaging just creates really indecisive play. It needs to stop.

Oh, no doubt at all mate. 100%

I just think Emerson gets an awful lot of unfair criticism (not directed at you at all). He is after all a RB who Conte is trying to convert into a RWB. He's never been really trained to push forward and provide an end product but the defensive side of his game is very sound. I can see the improvement and I love that he is committed to what Conte is trying to achieve with him. I can understand why from an operational viewpoint he was kept in preference to Doherty (although I will never understand how we failed to get a transfer fee) as I think he has plenty of upside.

Yes, he is nowhere near the finished product but I do think there is a player there. His attitude is excellent, as is his worth ethic. His end product needs work but it is also improving.

As the understudy to Porro he is a good option in my opinion given it seems Djed Spence has done something to piss Conte off.
