Absolutely buzzing lads!

At best, i thought we might grind out a lucky draw like at their gaffe earlier in the season, so to win is just sweeeet! Something felt different today, i know we rode our luck and plenty of misplaced passes but there seemed to be a freshness about the line up, i suddenly felt excited at the players we had on the pitch and on the bench. The transition has started, feels so good to have some of the deadwood out the club. Watch out you Chavvy cunts we're coming for ya!!

Easy win. Mourinho outfoxed Pep here. Brilliantly lulled City into thinking that we couldn't press, pass, retain the ball, keep our shape or composure. And the jedi mind trick on Zinchenko was another masterstroke. Mourinho is a genius!

On a serious note, City's front line was a nightmare. They should have had four goals and scored none. I think they're smart to focus on Champions League, but they aren't gonna win crap if they don't start scoring. But who cares? Three points in the bag and four from the two-time champs on the season. Now if we can only beat the Sheffields of the world we might grab top 4.

Great win and 3 well needed points and good to be back in the hunt.. Mourinho isnt happy with the lack of strikers and said as much in his post match interview. Looks as if Daniel "Ducks arse" Levy has given yet another manager the usual pre appointment promises and stuck two fingers up once the contract is signed.
Let's be honest, we were very fortunate today. On any other day, City would have have the points sewn up by the hour but the luck was with us today and we'll take it.
Dele is a player that needs to spend time on the bench imo...the games are passing him by. His sharpness is non existent. With Ndombele back now Bergwijn here, LoCelso getting more impressive every game, and Moura a threat always, I cant see how you can justify starting him when he's just not performing.
Anyway, brilliant result and hopefully we can kick on and put a run together. Let's deal with Southampton in the cup now and keep the momentum going!!

Dean and VAR did everything they possibly could to keep XI city players on the pitch. Embarrassing.

What a pleasant afternoon of footy. Us chaps and chapesses in the Park Lane had a great view of the game that had everything, VAR, penalty saves, hitting the woodwork, red card and two wonderful goals. So noisy today as well, the recent lows make these highs even higher.
Sure City were the better team, but it’s about putting the ball in the net. Everyone in white today was on it, putting in a shift, it made you proud for the full 95mins. Even Mike Dean have us a fair crack of the whip, and correctly sent off Zinchenko.

This felt like a huge win, we were singing and buzzing throughout even after the game outside. A turning point? Maybe it feels like it, Eriksen has gone so has Rose and we have some new talent, energy, and a bit of luck. Let’s play with this commitment every game. Aurier is getting a bit better every game, welcome Steven, who doesn’t like Lo Celso and NDombele played for 10 minutes and still looks a real player. Good times ahead?

Big game on Wednesday....same result again please. I’m knackered, can’t wipe the grin off my face though!! COYS

Great result in the end. We had a hard time in the first half but a sending off is always going to swing the game in your favour.

Lo Celso is looking sharp and doesn't mind sticking a boot in. Great to see.

Tanganga looked comfortable. Aurier was good to, apart from the pen. In this case I think it was right to make the challenge, but he is liable for alot of goals which needs to stop.

I hope this is the start of Ndombele. You can tell he's an absolute baller. Him and Lo Celso in the middle of the park would be very effective for breaking up play and getting the ball forward.

Son needs to play upfront instead of Moura. Moura needs to use his pace to drive forward. Son is trickier in close contact situations.

Great 3 points. On to the next.

Agree with all that but slightly disagree with Aurier needing to make the challenge, Aguero was going away from goal, so just needed to shepherd him away, you make a challenge like that in the box and you're asking for trouble.

Good result and well taken goals by the lads. More than made up for our horrible transitions in the first half and the first period of the second half. There were so many good chances to counter that were fucked up by bad passes.

Ok we are all biased as fuck,so in the spirit of even handedness, you can see by Stirlings right leg buckling that Lloris wiped him out and should have been a 2nd penalty.
Nah he fucking dived, you cant explain this pic away

LoCelso and Ndombele are clearly incredibly skilled players and did a great job today, but I want to give a shout out to Winks. Yes, he hit a couple of horrible passes, but he ran his nads off defensively, and it was his burst from the back that turned the tide in the game. I love a trier.

Clearly you cant play against most PL sides and carry not 100% committed passengers, even with any best intentions,if you know you are off it is hard to be focused, and put your body on the line.Especially in midfield,we would have lost with eriksen yesterday I have no doubt, only by giving it all did we scrape the most spawny of wins, you make your own luck,or rather earn your own luck.Spurs fans have been quick to pile into winks this year, how hard must it have been playing one man short in midfield week in?
Hard not to praise any player from that game, even son, dele and moura who looked ineffective but worked so hard, and aurier, asking him to not dive in is like waving a sausage in front of a doberman,he is going to do it,but besides the penalty solid again. And have we finally found a new Ledley?tanganga is magnificent,lo celso, bergwijn`s goal, toby&sanchez solid, hugo proper captain`s performance, this should help them kick on now.Doesnt matter if it was like when we lost to united last year, battered them and somehow lost, clean sheet against city is something to build on now

And another week nearer Kane`s return, whispers of rumours of a 4 to 5 weeks until he`s back???.,

Naturally it was tempting to chalk this up as a classic José Mourinho spoiler victory: one in the eye for his old foe Pep Guardiola, a salty two fingers to the doctrine of possession football, a gigantic up-yours to Unicef. This is the game of expectations, and some managers are better at it than others. Sam Allardyce used to linger on his wins in near-pornographic detail, leaning lasciviously into the microphone and explaining at great length how the previous 90 minutes had simply been fate’s messenger. “We played the three in midfield and the two up top with the quick switches of play and they couldn’t handle it,” he would gush, and you would sit there nodding sagely, because after all he had just won a Premier League game, and you hadn’t. Then you would leave the room and realise, with a jolt: hang on, didn’t your team just get battered?
And yet, for all City’s shot supremacy and dominance of the ball, this didn’t feel like a classic anti-football treatise. Mourinho teams have always been prepared to soak up pressure and take the game deep, but it’s a strange sort of masterplan that owes its success to a missed penalty, at least two knife-edge VAR calls, a shot hitting the post via two minuscule deflections and a freakish red card against the run of play. What may end up going down as the signature win of Mourinho’s first season at Tottenham was the result of no real discernible strategy, no cogent internal logic: just the crude and comical nihilism of football.

To Mourinho’s credit, even he didn’t try to dress this one up. Tottenham were, he admitted, “a bit lucky in a couple of situations”. The penalty drama was, he said, “God’s will”.
And in a way, this has always been a central plank of his thinking: you can propound your fanciful ideologies and your pretensions to control, and yet there will always be a part of the game that you can never touch. It’s a manifesto of chaos, a template of nothing at all, and yet here, as this game wound to its illogical conclusion, it seemed like the only truth left in the world.

I mean it could just be covering over the cracks,a flukey win, enough people have blamed the champions league final for papering over the cracks FFS.Thats a bit like city doing the treble last year hid the coming decline.......Hopefully it must help the team come together, certainly VAR brought the fans and team back together, because it felt like a whole different atmosphere after Hugo`s save.

That was my take on it, we were singing from the off, but were under the cosh and the City fans were as per pretty quiet, almost just waiting for Mahrez to cross to Aguero or Sterling to score (Tanganga did really well all night until Mahrez was substituted) after the save it racheted up a cog and certainly from when Zinchenko got sent off and we scored, the place went bananas. Last 20 minutes was one of the noisiest I can remember. the Jose song was attempted by block 250 and few around me, but still doesn't have any real traction. about 80% stayed to the very end as well.

It felt like a turning point, new team, new energy and definitely much more hard work and desire on show. We got a bit lucky, but you need that in all games. Wednesday night will be another marker, to see if we can back it up with some of the squad playing (I would expect). Many were dead on their feet by the end.
ps We're still missing Kane and Sissoko, Good times ahead hopefully and this past 9 month hiatus will soon be forgotten, the only real casulty being Pochettino - which I still find galling, because if the money is there now it was there last Summer as well (to refresh and rebuild)

There's a good 'Matchday pass' on the official club site from Sunday's game. I'll try and post it with my limited IT skills. Nope not happening.
