Son was monumental. He ran his tail off. Hope Maddison is OK because because VDV is definitely out at least 4 weeks.

Worse part of tonight is the loss of Mickey, hamstring injury to a player with his pace is devastating if bad. I am concerned he may lose his pace after this.

It’ll be more about recovery time than losing pace mate. It will depend on whether it’s a high hamstring, potential tendon issue or a run of the mill torn hamstring.

Unreal effort after 2 fucking idiotic episodes. Those lads should be very proud of the effort they put in.

Fair play to Dier too. He's been left hanging for a while now but came in and gave it everything!

Anyone know the number of a good therapist after watching that insane shit.
Dunno, but Romero needs to fucking see the cunt too... honestly what the fuck goes through or doesn't go through his head... why is he trying to murder the lad as well as lash it out... fucking imbecile...!!!

He’s our vice captain. Has to be better in situations like that. I love that he plays on the edge, but in past days he’s have been sent off for kicking out at Thiago Silva even before the challenge.

Just reiterating much of what you guys have said during the game.
Has a 4-1 loss ever brought so much pride to a club?!

I love Ange's never say die attitude.
Down one man & he played 4-3-2 for the win whereas others would have played for damage control.
Down 2 men & we were still pressing & playing a high-line.
So effing proud of this team.
Against overwhelming odds with an unyielding spirit.
They displayed an unwavering commitment to their cause.

Those players chose to rewrite the narrative on the WHL pitch.

They played for the honour & pride of the whole fanbase.
They exhibited a level of bravery & determination that the Prem hasn't seen before.
IMHO, they've stomped all over the memory of JM & AC.

The transformation is incredible.
If there is anyone who has embraced the Spurs ethos, it's Ange.
And he's wholeheartedly done it in such a short period of time.
In my eyes, he's a legend already.

Any neutral watching that must think so differently of Spurs now. And "why can't my club play that way?"

It's how the game should be played.

So, so, SO proud to be a Spurs supporter.

Ange’s post match quotes on VAR. As with so much this guy says, I agree with every word:

There will be a forensic study of every decision out there, I think that is the way the game is going and I don't like it.

If you look at all that standing around we did today, maybe people enjoy that sort of thing but I'd rather see us playing football.

You have to accept the referee's decision, that is how I grew up. This constant erosion of the referee's authority is where the game is going - they are not going to have any authority.”

OK, let's all take a 'Calm the fuck down' pill eh? Anyone who thinks we were going to win the league this season also needs to take the red pill, that's the one that stops the hallucinations. Our season is not 'gone', we are in 2nd position after 11 games, hands up anyone who expected that at the start of the season or anyone who is frothing at the mouth because we are not top of the table - you need the green pill and you can sleep through the rest of the season.

Romero's red card was a consequence of how he plays. Telling him to not play like that would mean he ain't Romero anymore, and then you would be moaning that he is not good enough or he needs to be more physical. In my opinion that was never a red card, he played for the ball, got the ball and sadly the player as well, it happens with a strong physical player like him, you can't have it both ways. Same thing applies to Destiny with the added issue of him being only 20 years old, playing in a very heated, emotional fixture like the cursed games against the chavs. Some voodoo cunt has obviously hexed this fixture.

The Magnificent Nine did a great job. The effort was outstanding and they held on for longer than I thought they would. I was really impressed with the work put in by the subs, I have always thought Dier can be effective further up the field and his 'goal' was a fucking cracker. Hojberg was great and Skippy (who my thinking brain bonce department tells me is not good enough for us) looked really good. Porro and Vicario stood out as giants last night, exactly the sort of players need to play the game that Ange wants - which is the sort of game I want to see.

It's going to be a tough few weeks now. Van de Ven will probably be out until the spring, hopefully Madison's injury isn't too bad, Romero will have little break and Udogie a shorter one, but as proved last night, the 2nd choice players can step up and if they keep putting in that sort of effort we might avoid relegation - yeah, fuck off with the 'season is gone' bollocks eh? Bentancur is back, Richarlison might recover his magic, Gil needs to be given some time - he might surprise some people, and I still rate Lo Celso. Johnson will be the very bollocks of the dog, we will see much more of him I think. We of course have the mighty Emerson Royal who will mesmerise the opposition with his humungous shorts and his Brazilian magic (or pubes style)!

Imagine being a Chelsea fan this morning and all the talk is about how well Spurs played and how they fought until the end. Possibly the most hollow victory they've ever had i think, especially since we're still 11 points ahead of them.

I suppose one small saving grace is that there's another international break after Saturday's game against Wolves so if we're lucky and Micky's injury isn't as bad as it looked, he'll have a couple of weeks to fully recover.

The defence is going to look different on Saturday as well. I expect Dier will start, and he fully deserves to, so I wonder who will be alongside him. Wonder if Ange will give Ashely Phillips a chance to shine ?

Just gotta love Ange, ‘go down to 5 men, and we’ll still have a crack’.

God, I FUCKING hate losing to Chelsea.
This is the thing Celtic fans warned us about to be fair, and also why many predicted us to have a rocky start.

Our new signings papered over the cracks. Vicario, VDV and Maddi-Son saved us many times. Shit just got real.

Ange ain't changing his tactics for no one. Not me. Not Romero. Not Udogie. He is more stubborn than Pep I'll bet.

What I witnessed yesterday was akin to the ill-discipline under Conte, the lacking pace of Mourinho, the exhausting emotion of Pochettino, and the results of AVB.

It is what I expected 11 games ago.

You expected it did you? Clever boy. I'm enormously glad Ange isn't changing his tactics for you or anybody, I like those tactics. Fuck what the Celtic fans warned us about, it was ONE fucking game, have you seen a Spurs v Chavs game before? They get a bit tasty. What about the other 10 games under Ange? Are they irrelevant now we have had one disaster?

Err, I don't give a fuck what Celtic fans think either, some of them predicted that we would win the treble after a rocky start like he had with them.

Worst case scenario I expected 2 points from 8 games under Ange considering we sold our best striker. He was 10x better than what I expected.

Absolutely. 'End Of!' as the Internet tosspots say. Red cards and the occasional thumping are a totally acceptable price to pay, I had got so close to the end of my tether last season. I've been a Spurs supporter since 1964 and I was so fucking close to giving it up, if Conte hadn't been slung out I think I would have given up, I couldn't take one more game, it was bad for my already iffy mental health. It's trendy having mental health issues and talking about them these days innit? The voices tell me I shouldn't reveal what they tell me though - and they know best.

It seems to me that there’s a fine line between “papering over cracks” and “filling gaps we desperately needed to fill.” Or, if you like, “buying players that suit the new manager’s system and approach to the game.”

Anyway, I didn’t really think the game was akin to anything I’ve seen—the battle of Stamford Bridge, maybe? To the extent you can hold a manager responsible for moments of madness, fair enough.

Beyond that, when players put the team in the hole we were in, it’s the manager’s job to do what he can to try to dig out a result. That’s what Ange did, and nearly pulled it off.

If we finish 9th, but show this togetherness and passion, I'll be alot happier than the fucking shite we were served up by the so called "serial winners".
Wolves game is now huge. We need to react. Get the 3 points and go again. Big performance needed. I've no doubt Ange will have them ready...

I have a question.

Given Ange's proclivity to attack, attack, attack whether with 9 men or even 5, would he do so in a match, a similar scenario to yesterday, where we're down 2 men, it's tied, 30 mins left, & we only need a point to win the title?

It would be brilliant if he went for it & did it.

But would the fanbase accept it blowing up in our faces being so close to a title after 60+ years?

Would his tactics change in a monumental game such as that?

FWIW, I love the bravery & determination to win on your terms but should some pragmatism come into play?

I don’t know, but I’d think he’d make adjustments. The thing is, when we think pragmatism, we think parking the bus. But pragmatism is playing the way you think will get a result. He plays the way he does because he believes it’s the best and most effective way to play, not because he’s some crazy idealist.

I totally agree.
I believe Ange would find an alternative route to parking the bus. A sort of hybrid approach which would be pragmatic.

Thankfully we won’t ever be in that situation mate, coz Ange’s gonna win us 10 consecutive titles, and on each occasion, with at least 5 games to spare! 😉

Think between you @J.spurs you’ve pretty much nailed it really.

There may have been a bit of "I dont loose home games, so fuck it, I'm going after this cunt"...

And I applaud him for it to be honest...

It's now a different era, we're gonna have to play different football in a diferent way...

Bottom line mate, is that he’s put a smile on the faces of the fans and the players.

Even last night, after the initial sendings off when I was properly pissed off, I was watching the 2nd half with a smile on my face, it was just fun, and utterly mental. It was only when the third went in, when I was like ‘bollocks!’

Some good quotes from Kulu saying how they know they got carried away, got too hyped up but will learn from it. Also, how incredible the fans were all night. That just gives Ange and the players more of a licence to go out and enjoy themselves.

It’s incredible what he’s done in such a short amount of time. He’s barely had a transfer window to do what he wants. Given he comes across as a guy that knows exactly the type of player he likes, in terms of character and ability, means we’re gonna be in for a fun ride, with a manager and a good group of players that will be very easy to get behind.

I hope anyway, football’s fucked up, so you never quite know how anything’s gonna turn out but I’m totally sold, there’ll be games where we’re a bit shit but more often than not it’ll be entertaining, the elephant in the room is trophies though. God, I’d love to win some silverware playing like this. 🙏

Great post with plenty of good points.

I know this was a bit more of a significant match @Chavhater01 given the opponent but, despite the scoreline, glad you were smiling while watching it.

And like you said, that's the bit that Ange & the players can take away from the game. The vast majority of fans loved it. They were singing loud & proud long after full time.

That's affirmation that they have everyone onboard for that kind of performance.

That just says so much about Ange & the determination of those 9 players.
The mindset is so different to letting the opposition have the ball.

I genuinely felt there was a greater chance of us scoring than the Chavs despite us being slower at the back without VDV & Romero.
