The Times report Spurs have opened talks with a Qatar company over naming rights for the new stadium.

Qatar Investment Company currently fund Barcelona, however talks are said to have now intensified with Spurs

This might have been wrongly reported or confused with the Aspeter deal....who are also Qatari. Someone else will be able to tell us how much of Londons significant real estate the Qatari's currently own....I think it's a lot relatively speaking.

L’Equipe seem to love the atmosphere around English football. Whether that be FA Cup games, or stories from ordinary fans going to matches, there’s something about the Premier League which makes it more than just the veneer of money.

At the moment the French newspaper are doing features on stadiums and on Wednesday it’s the turn of Tottenham Hotspur and White Hart Lane. With another old English ground being replaced by a new stadium, Tottenham have insisted to L’Equipe that their new ground will have an advantage over Arsenal and the Emirates.

Tottenham’s Donna-Maria Cullen was asked for comment, and told L’Equipe: “The atmosphere of an enclosure depends very much on its architecture. We work to optimise that in the new stadium, working especially with the team that manages the acoustics of U2 concerts.

“That is why, for example, the corners of the stadium will be closed, unlike the Emirates. In addition, we insisted to the that architects that the stands be close, as at White Hart Lane. In our stadium, the pitch will be five metres closer to the fans than it is at the Emirates.”

The repeated references to Arsenal are no accident, explain L’Equipe, because Tottenham have seen how the Emirates has lost out on atmosphere. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will surely have preferred that the old Highbury atmosphere had been transferred, and that’s what Tottenham are trying to do for Mauricio Pochettino.

Outside of the stadium, Tottenham have been working on stability, with some of the recent contract extensions including Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris. It’s going to be a turbulent time as Tottenham go through the move whilst trying to retain their past, having Pochettino’s stars all tied up on long deals is a very smart way of managing what can be controlled.

Arsenal’s move to the Emirates hasn’t been a disaster by any means, but Tottenham are keen to learn from the mistakes of their rivals and provide Pochettino with a more fiery atmosphere than what Wenger has at the Emirates.

Embarassing? Nah. I welcome any oportunity to gloat about how shite the scum are. Their stadium IS shite, ours WILL be better and this froggy paper knows it. Fuck waiting, the second we are one point in front of them I'm going to shout 'mind the fucking gap'. I will celebrate any little victory over them, waiting for the perfect time could lead to misery. As works continue to advance on the site of our new stadium, we have today launched a revamped website and upgraded Stadium Live section dedicated to the project that aims to provide our fans with an interactive portal and views for all the latest news, images and stadium offerings as they become available.

At the heart of the new look site, our Interact section will bring viewers new and better-positioned live stream cameras from across the construction site as well as five new high definition timelapse cameras.

An amazing new timelapse camera feature will give supporters access to the latest photos as they appear at regular intervals across the cameras as well as having the ability to scroll back through time to see how the scheme has advanced since those cameras became active.

This interactive archive now allows supporters to post and comment on the latest photos onto our new stadium wall as well as screenshot to their own social media channels.

New fly-through videos across the website will provide our supporters with greater insight into how our completed world-class stadium will look both externally on the High Road and also inside the stadium bowl for Premier League football, NFL and concerts.

The new stadium website will also provide an opportunity for local businesses and local people to engage and to find out more about the opportunities that will be created by the new stadium, including finding out about upcoming employment events.

As the site develops, construction processes present challenges for the camera positions and live feeds. We shall, however, continue to look to reposition where necessary due to changing build heights and impacts on signal transmissions in order to bring you live footage with minimal service interruptions.

The new stadium website will continue to develop so keep an eye out across our channels as we launch other new features and regularly updated information.

I reckon we should tell Wembley to fuck of and use the London Stadium, West Ham won't be able to fill it in when they're in the Championship next season, they can park their caravans up on a common somewhere and play there. The rent for the London Stadium is well cheap, the pikeys pay about 10 bob week, so Levy could trouser a few quid and we know he's keen on that.

I was thinking about, for example, the "treasure" hidden inside the Cockerel which was re-discovered during renovations in the 80s. It turned out that the "treasure" was simply an old club book, but for 80 years or so people had talked about what the treasure might be and that sort of thing gives a ground of bricks and mortar a bit of character.

With that in mind I though it would be great if the club, before construction was finished, got fans to donate mementos, stories and photos and such of White Hart Lane and their love of Spurs and put them in a "Time Capsule", perhaps along with a few relics from when the old ground finally gets demolished, and then bury it or hide it in some feature on the new ground.

Overnight people will start talking about where it might be and what it might contain and, in 100 years from now, a future generation may discover it and find out why this club is so special to us all.

That would help give our new ground a bit of mystique and character which no other stadium in the Premier League would have.

Tottenham splashed out just over £6m on seven giant steel cranes last year, after a nationwide shortage meant there were none for hire.
