Daniel Levy reveals second Wembley year option & moment fans would realise stadium delay
Spurs are set to move in to the national stadium next season

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has admitted that should the club's new stadium fall behind schedule there is an option for a second year at Wembley.

Spurs are set to move to the national stadium for next season after taking up an option with the Wembley management and having got permission from Brent Council to play 27 matches with the ground at full capacity.
The plan is for Tottenham to move back into their new ground, being built alongside White Hart Lane, for the 2018/19 season.

However, in his meeting with the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust last week, the Spurs chairman was asked what would indicate the move was still on schedule.

'Forget Spurs' sides of the 1980s, this team's the best I've ever seen' - Gary Neville raves about Pochettino's men
"Daniel Levy said that the roof going on at the end of January/ early February 2018 would be a big indicator," read the minutes from the meeting.

The Spurs supremo was also asked about contingency plans should the new stadium fall behind schedule.

"Daniel Levy responded that contingency has been considered and there was the option to stay at Wembley for a second season, although it was hoped that wouldn’t be needed," read the minutes.

"Premier League rules do not permit a change in home venue during a season but the Premier League could be approached when fixtures are being arranged for the 2018-2019 season to request the first two games be played away from home.

"The 2018-19 season will also start slightly later owing to the World Cup, and there will be the international break in early September, as usual, building in more time."

It went on: "There is also the possibility of contra deals, as Liverpool did this season, although that would depend on the other team agreeing to flip home venues, of course.

"UEFA also insist on one home venue for the group stages of any European competition, meaning wherever the first home tie is played will be the home ground for the remainder of the group stage."

It seems that Spurs will be desperate for those works to be completed in time for a move in the summer of 2018.

Tottenham Hotspur fans will need to get their farewells in quickly during Sunday's game against Manchester United as the demolition of their iconic White Hart Lane stadium is set to start very quickly.

Chairman Daniel Levy met with the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust this month and revealed that the builders will not be hanging around as they look to keep to schedule and have Spurs' new stadium open for the start of the 2018/19 season.

"Daniel Levy explained that the keys to the Lane will be handed over the following morning, 15 May, to Mace. The demolition of the Lane will commence that day," read the minutes of the Trust meeting.

"Local residents and businesses have been informed of Park Lane and Worcester Road closures. It is expected that demolition will be finished within three months."
The club have invited more than 80 former Spurs players and staff to be paraded on the pitch at the end of the match and the details of that were revealed at the meeting. The ceremony itself is anticipated to last between 30 and 35 minutes and pending rights clearances the club hope that the farewell ceremony will be broadcast live.

I don't know if I am alone in this, but I for one cannot wait to get into the new stadium, I have been to WHL about 1000 times more or less, and in my mind, I have already said goodbye to the place. I hold no feelings now either way, and the difficulty of getting tickets at a reasonable price at the old place has made my mind up that we are better off now out of the place. I am an old romantic, and saw many amazing games there but cannot wait to get Wembley out of the way too. Having walked through our new as yet unfinished and unfurnished home, the future is very exciting indeed.

Onwards......:):):):):)

Imagine if Levy got it wrong & now realized we still have one more home game.
How many think that he'd make us play here just to save money?
