I hope the NL get their request for 3 clubs to go up soon. It's ridiculous its only 2. Apparently they need the majority of L2 clubs to consent.

It's like asking Turkey's to vote for Christmas.

Bad news for Morecambe

Morecambe have been suspended from the National League with immediate effect and will not play in the division during the first weeks of the new season.

The Lancashire club were given a deadline of midday on Monday by the league surrounding their compliance with its rules and were warned they would face "possible further sanctions".

The league's compliance and licensing committee met again to discuss the club's response and has now suspended Morecambe until it meets again on 20 August.

"It was decided further sanctions must be imposed, with the club's membership to be suspended with immediate effect," a National League statement said.

It added: "The club will also remain under embargo ahead of the new season."

"Morecambe Football Club will also be removed from the National League Cup for the forthcoming season.

"The committee will meet again on Wednesday, August 20 to determine if outstanding items have been satisfied, and to decide the club's ability to retain membership in the competition."
Hate how they phrase it like this:

"The Lancashire club were given a deadline of midday on Monday by the league surrounding their compliance with its rules and were warned they would face 'possible further sanctions'."

The club and the owner aren't the same thing.

Morecambe hired a manager and put together a team in basically four days before this game. And they got the winner in the 98th minute. Incredible stuff.

EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING CALLED

Wealdstone Football Club can confirm that the Board of Directors has called an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) to be held at 11:00am on Saturday 4th October 2025 in the Main Hall at Grosvenor Vale, Ruislip.

All shareholders of Wealdstone Football Club (2000) Ltd have today been sent formal notification of the meeting via post backed up by email, along with the supporting documents. Any shareholder who has not received an email or doesn't receive their documents in the post, please email secretary@wealdstonefc.com.

Important: This meeting is strictly for shareholders only. Shareholders attending must bring valid photo ID, or can appoint a proxy in line with the instructions included in the official notice.

The EGM has been convened so shareholders can vote on changes to the Club’s Articles of Association. These changes are needed to enable a proposed new investment into the Club by Lakefront Football Partners LLC, led by experienced investor and football supporter Nick Semaca. As we have now entered into a period of exclusivity with Lakefront Football Partners LLC, the purchase of new shares is paused.

Nick has a strong track record in football, having previously invested in clubs in both England and Germany and has already spent time with the Board, the Supporters Club and major shareholders to shape his proposal.

If approved, the investment would help deliver:
  • Long-term financial stability and a sustainable future for the Club.
  • Growth at Grosvenor Vale and beyond, including improving the matchday experience and supporting progress towards a new stadium.
  • Strengthening on the pitch, with continued focus on the first team, Academy and player development
Importantly, the proposed new Articles of Association also include protections for Wealdstone’s identity and heritage, such as the Club’s name, crest, colours and stadium, with the Supporters Club playing a formal role in safeguarding these values

After more than 18 months of discussions with potential investors, the Board is unanimous in recommending this proposal as the best route forward for Wealdstone FC. It has the backing of the Supporters Club and majority shareholder Peter Marsden

The future direction of the Club will be decided by shareholders at the EGM. All shareholders are encouraged to attend in person or vote by proxy.

Results of the meeting will be shared with supporters as soon as possible afterwards.

Really wish there was a world in which we were THFC shareholders. The community involvement implied above sounds refreshing, dire circumstances notwithstanding.

Horrible. Apparently he just left arsenal’s U21 setup last summer and was trying to build a career from the bottom up.
