Strangest of games last night. Was crazy what half time did for us.
Dragging Dier off was harsh but I'm so glad Mourinho did it, and it's nothing really to do with Dier. He could have pulled any of them off they were all playing shit. The point is he showed the team that the Pochettino guaranteed 65 mins is over. You can be dragged off 25 mins in. Will give everyone a kick up the hole.

Dier and winks isn't a great combo though it seems. They both have a similar kind of range of pass and it's the 5-8 yarders. It doesn't work when you have a front 4 as those passes don't make it that far.

Dug deep though in the end and got a well needed win. Would of hated to go to Bayern and needed something to qualify.

Special mention to Aurier who I swore at 20 times in the first half for standing still. Was excellent second half.
Eriksen as well.
And Alli
And Sissoko. If he could shoot he would win that right wing spot in no time. To be honest I think that was why Aurier was so good second half. Sissoko helped him loads.
Interesting to see how things progress now Ndombele is back as well.
Lo Celso must be thinking aaaahhhh shit!

Spurs fans love a scapegoat.Seems to be Dier,& sanchez this game.Its just personal I think,same with serge,all these football managers think they know best,cant praise decent performances and favoured players escape criticism Last night Son wasnt good,winks wasnt great,rose was awful for the 2 goals (watch the corner,he made no movement at all,was he thinking about if he left the iron on at home?),I am not defending him but Dier gave the ball away once before being subbed,midway in their half and he got the good riddance youre shit posts,dele gave the ball away that led to their corner from which they scored,rose gave the ball away 3 secs before they scored.Is it people think ndombele should play instead of dier that they pan him,or toby&jan should be our preferred pairing?I thought sanchez did well mostly,.It aint often all 11 players have a blinder the same game,seems it doesnt matter if the other team doesnt score or we walk a game how they perform.

Been same forever,Bale got pelters,so did modric for 1st year,walker&rose for many years,same as it ever was.Serge has had 2 good games in a row,most important thing is he makes it 5 in a row,then 10,not that @chirpycunt1882 is proved right on social media.

Mate, I am one of those who has panned Dier recently but I also have pointed out when he has played well. My position remains that he is not up to the standard required to play for Spurs. He was yanked in the 1st half yesterday, not because he gave the ball away once but because he was being too easily bypassed in midfield and we were allowing the Greeks to overrun us there. Eriksen came on, and whilst he is not quick he does cover territory which is what we needed (even though I was annoyed at the time that it was Eriksen instead of Lo Celso who came on).

Look at the very best holding midfielders, they can all cover territory. Kante is obviously the benchmark but all of the really good ones can run. Dier does some things well, he is a physical presence and he is decent in the air but he doesn't cover turf and that is what stops him from being a real top class player.
