FFS. Romero can’t get a break tonight. Of course it’s handball, but what was he supposed to do with his arm?

Probably can’t blame Romero too much for that but he’s had an awful game nonetheless.

5 - 3 & we take off the energy of Gray & Bergval to put on Paulinha to pair with Bents again. Two defensive mids. sigh.

What a team. 5 - 3 up & then you have the luxury of bringing on Dembele & Ramos as subs to close out the game. lol

We have conceded 9 goals in 2 games. The difference in class is massive, but at least we tried.

Take away the obvious mistakes from both sides & it makes for a tighter scoreline of 3 - 2. But the ability to generate & capitalize on mistakes is a big part of these sports. The better sides do this well.

A win was always going to be a big ask but it would’ve been nice to leave there with a point after going ahead twice. I liked how we started the game, and thought Frank got the tactics right by outnumbering them in midfield. Also liked how we didn’t give up, and that RKM was able to get going.

And I can’t say it too often—Archie Gray is going to be a star if he develops properly. Thought he was very good in this one, and frankly needs to be playing regularly now that he’s back from injury.

Saying all that, it’s very disappointing to concede on a corner, and Romero will expect better from himself than to play that pass to Sarr. So probably still more questions than answers, but I don’t think there’s any doubt we saw a response from the manager after Sunday’s clusterfuck. Much riding on the Fulham game.

I agree with much of the above.
I don't think any of us can complain about today's response after Sunday's "clusterfuck".
Saw some sign of life from this group.

Archie did well with Bergval. Lots of energy & creativity that we have been missing. I was surprised to see them pulled in favour of the benign Paulinha - Bentancour pairing when we were looking for goals late on.

As for Romero's pass to Sarr, I saw Romero gesturing Vicario to pass to Porro & he himself wasn't expecting to receive the ball. Nevertheless, he still should have done better.

When you look at how well Bergvall, Gray and Sarr performed it does make it even more baffling as to why they've struggled for minutes.

Hopefully that game will be a turning point for Frank and he'll start to be more forward thinking with more attacking lineups.

There must be something we don't know about when it comes to Gray. Even under Ange, he performed brilliantly under severe pressure at times and as soon as other players got fit he was sat on the bench again. Personally I don't understand how he doesn't start more often. He's proven he can handle it. .

Along with being young, I think he’s one of those whose versatility has kept him from really nailing down a position. Reminds me a bit of Dier in that way, though Gray has a different set of skills.
