Cor blimey guvnor this 10 days without a game lark is not what I'm used to having over the crimbo period but at last we are close to kick off. With all the other teams around us winning we need a win just to keep apace with them. I'm hoping the long break has done us good. I'm sure we'll have trained well but I'm hoping the momentum of two wins hasn't been negated by the quite long time in between games....

I'm thinking a 1-3 win Kane, Alli, Eriksen for us, Boufal for them.

Hopefully Toby is back for Watford and then Chelsea too!

Not often I type whilst the game is on or be as negative as this but we've started really poorly, playing like a bunch of cunts at the moment. Early days but we gotta up the ante!

Still got faith though!!!

COYS!!!!

Gonna quote myself here!!!

We needed that goal from Dele. We've looked much better since that goal too and have generally bossed the game from then on. Could do with seeing a bit more from Harry Kane as he doesn't look sharp at all right now.

Take 4-1 against a team who only lost once at home before today

Happy days, Southampton will complain, but bottom line is that we were far more proactive, and were well worth the win in the second half. Not that fussed about the yellows to Jan and Walker, as I wouldn't be shocked if Walker in particular was benched for Watford anyway. Overall, very very good, three points there is fantastic.

I might start slagging the team off more often. After saying we're playing like cunts we turn it around and after saying Harry hasn't looked sharp he scores. Still don't think Kane looks very sharp to be fair but we won so I'm happy anyway. Sissoko is looking miles better this month, and Eriksen too.

Apart from a couple of brainfarts from Hugo that was mighty impressive. Real mental strength required to play last out of the top teams and get the win you need just to stay in touch.
All of a sudden our goals for is looking great also. We're going well, lovely jubbly.
Big shout out to Sissoko also. He looks to be turning things around, another good performance.

never conceded 4 at home in the PL too !!
TBH after the shaky first 20mins we dominated them, could have got 7 or 8 if we had been a bit more clinical with possesion around their area.

Agree with this mate. Let's start the year of win a bang and do Watford and Chelsea now!

Rebounded well from a shaky start.

Props to Sissoko. He's really stepped it up after a poor first couple of performances. His pace and power are real assets. Just needs to find some more consistency with his final ball.

Great team win. COYS!

Not that it matters but anyone else think that was a soft penalty? On that note our very own Howard Webb had a blinder. lol

Thought the more obvious tug was outside the area. Still a red tho because Dele was clean through.

Chelsea is huge mate. Still need to take care of Watford I suppose, one game at a time and all that. Looking good

The rule book says;
Where a player commits an offence against an opponent within their own penalty area which denies an opponent an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick, the offending player is cautioned unless:

  • The offence is holding, pulling or pushing or
  • The offending player does not attempt to play the ball or there is no possibility for the player making the challenge to play the ball
I think despite protests it was a red card,in fact if anyone deserved a straight red it was Fonte for that shocking off the ground lunge at Rose, they shouldnt have to actually hurt someone to get the card, think the ref missed one there.

That tackle was horrendous, was not in control and was lucky he didnt hurt anyone!

I think it was a soft penalty but it was a foul and he denied a goal scoring opportunity
