AFAIR, he did impress against us while at Ajax.In Davison's defense, he was a terrific footballer before he came to us.
Good on Hugo for slamming the fans who booed him while on the field & when being subbed.I feel very sorry for Davinson - that must be excruciatingly painful for him. But that is the nature of operating at the pinnacle of your chosen profession. It had to be done. At least he can keep drawing an obscene salary to help him get over it until he moves to another team for a fresh start.
But blaming Sanchez doesn’t alter the fact that Porto is an awful, brainless player. Neither does it excuse Romero for his arrogance and laziness. You know things are bad when Eric Dier is our best defender in a game.
As for the fans, booing your own player while he is still on the pitch is just childishly stupid.
This is exactly right. We look directionless, with no idea what to do. And with the run of fixtures we have ahead of us we could be in for a complete collapse. Of course taking over at this point wouldn’t be a very attractive proposition for exactly that reason, even if it was Poch. Really it’s the same situation that Chelsea face—sadly we can’t even have a laugh at them.We need an actual manager installed immediately to save our season.
I remember a time under Poch where him starting meant we'd win with a clean sheet. Tanganga would likely have been a better choice to bring on but then he's hardly played as well so who's to say he wouldn't have had a similar nightmare? In Davison's defense, he was a terrific footballer before he came to us.
As much as Poch did for us in providing exciting attacking football, what sometimes gets overlooked was how sound defensively we were. Being a defender, Poch knew how to organize them & make them better players.I remember a time under Poch where him starting meant we'd win with a clean sheet. Tanganga would likely have been a better choice to bring on but then he's hardly played as well so who's to say he wouldn't have had a similar nightmare?
I go back to what I said about Villa though, but Brighton as well. Both have made good managerial appointments that are right for the squad and they're seeing the benefits.
We're on, what, our fourth manager in 4/5 years ?
Was just looking at this and it's looking like 8th is a very real possibility, which would be out of all European places. At least we don't have to worry about CL. How low do we have to go to miss Europe? That should be our goal now. Get out of Europe, free Kane and Son, Then we can enjoy our shit football in peace. Won't even fantasize about Levy going.
