It seems bizarre to suggest we are playing more of this 'laboured' football when we are two nil up but, you can't help but recognise the lack of pace in the pressing and the build up play compared to last season.

Maybe this is a new model that Pochettino is going for? Who knows, it certainly looks that way eh? I'm hoping to see more 'zip' in the second half.

Excellent first half Neil tbh. Took us a while to get going maybe but it really is as one sided as the stats suggest. Typical set-up from a bottom half team against us at the lane....fleet of buses, great wall of china and the iron curtain behind the ball but we've been patient and its starting to pay off. Dembele imo has been majestic but to be fair the penalty was a bit harsh.

He looked really strong in the one-on-one situations up against their left back but, as you say, he lacks a lot of self confidence. I only saw one bad pass from him though during the time he was on the pitch. Here's hoping he uses this to build his confidence because without Lamela, he should really be the go-to-man.
