You can’t just throw a team together under a new manager and expect them to play like Barcelona after 2 games.

It’s frustrating, absolutely, but cooler heads need fo prevail I think. Obviously as Tottenham fans that is a completely alien concept of course ..

How are we better than last season? May have better players, but still clueless from Mafioso De Zerbi down. Wonder what momma italias boy will say about this crap.
What's the problem Danboy ? Did you get a pizza that gave you the shits or what ? We're 2 games in. We had 5 brand new players starting today and 2 more on the bench.
It'll come.
We can all debate on whether we actually needed all of those players or whether certain areas of the pitch should've been strengthened more or less but you have to give RDZ at least 5/6 games to get them bedded in properly. If we're still not scoring goals and getting points at that stage then serious questions need to be answered...
We have to trust this manager and his methods....what choice do we have ?? Getting on his back is not going to do anybody any good. The players will get nervy and the place will get toxic quickly and then we're in real trouble. So let's hope it starts to gel and we get a win against Forest. An ugly win if necessary, but a win...and then we go from there.

A fanatic is a person who shows extreme, unreasonable, or obsessive enthusiasm for a cause, belief, hobby, or activity
That's the definition of Fans.... we all do it... for fuck sake , I think Danso is World Class...😁😄
I think Danboy misses Levy ....,

He was a easy Target and Valid one!!!
I get his gripes .. we fucking suck (right now hopefully)
And I'm more in your camp Dave, I tend to Think De Zerbi Deserves a chance and I believe he will right the ship.... I'm an idiotic optimistic fanatic... I got the obsessive enthusiasm unfortunately....

I'm glad Danboy is mad... we all should be this has been a shit show for awhile... We all need something to hate .. that's the beauty of Sports... can't have hate without love... and it's hate with a small h... not a big H...
I hope DeZerbi proves Danboy wrong.. and I think he would be happy with that... begrudgingly

Too many "fans'" expectations are high & results are expected far too soon. It's the toxicity that this attitude & atmosphere generates that concerns me. Honestly, it would be awful playing a so called home game with them in the stands. There's seemingly a lot of entitlement as well.

Completely agree with those calling for patience. It’s going to take time. I think the mafioso (which I’m now repurposing as a cool nickname) is a good manager and I like the way his teams play. Just hard to rebuild on the fly in a league as unforgiving as the PL these days.

@J.spurs do they not understand that it is the most competitive & demanding league in the world?! Yet these people are expecting RBZ to just snap his fingers & we're top of the table. I don't get their thinking.

My expectations are. He trains and advised them what style and type of waybhe wants them to play. There is none of that present. Look unfit, look lost, and no coordination, passion or anything. Porro is not a right winger. Why not play to his strengths,as Spain did in the World Cup. He was terrific..World beater. Looks an egg beater after Saturdays clueless display? Why.

I'm going to avoid the negative rhetoric. There has been a seismic change to the complexion of the team. We are starting to see glimpses of what can be done over the last two matches. We are controlling more of the match but as RDZ says, we need more bite up front. These players are going to gel in time & there already is more cohesion in our play even in the past week.

Far too many fans have the knives out already.
Sorry i dont agree. I dont have any knives out for De Zerbi, but there is no method or plan seeking through. Plays Richarlison up front ,on owh against Brentford. Totally inept. Could not trap a bag of cement.

Brings nothing to the team..We have such a great crop of very talented youngsters, none of them are getting any chance to play and grab a place, Donley crying out for a start, no send him off to Luton on Loan Why?.,

Been there done that! No go and sign some other well known? From Everton 60 mill +.
Williams Barnett. Get him on the bench every week and get him playing time. I agree with clearout of Some, but replacement players are no where ,near fit or working as a team.

Stop splashing cash everywhere, and give the kids a chance. Cant be any worse than it is. I hope. danboy61.

First of all, how much time has RDZ had at the club? How many games has he had with this new crop of players to try to implement his system(s)? Players need time to understand each other's tendencies & strengths & weaknesses. Then factor in what they are asked to do with one another.

In another post, you complain about the youngsters lack of opportunities. He gave many of the youngsters plenty of play time during pre-season games. Some seemed to excel in my eyes but maybe not enough in his.

Richarlison was played up front to give him a chance to prove himself as his striker in his system or was it only as a chance to put him in the shop window? Maybe both. At the time, he was our only fit striker. At this level, there's usually a method to what he does. But if RDZ didn't play him there & placed someone else there other than Tel who was needed on the outside, maybe you would complain that he doesn't play players in their natural position ie like Porro above. All I see from you is complaints about him.

With some, sometimes you can't win b/c they simply made up their minds that they don't like you.

Mikey Moore was so ass gw1. If he is the best we have then we don't have anything in the academy.
Agreed, they're not prem level and this is where Troy I think fell down... He's very good and finding his level

Your overall point about the academy is correct IMO, but it was only one game, and players develop at different rates--the handful of very young players who really make an impact these days skew our perception and expectations.

Plus based on that performance alone, you could argue that we don't have a single player that's PL quality.

Ok, look, we've all got opinions and their all respected on here.
I understand your frustration. I've been a fan since the 70's like yourself so as fans we've seen it all in that time. This is an experience I've never seen. Serious money being spent and 100% backing of a manager. Isn't this what we've craved all those years ? Yes you can argue that we're spending money on players we may not need and not enough on positions that are weak..(like centre forward and goalkeeper imo)....and yes, the way we're playing needs to be 5 times quicker...it's too slow and it needs to get better...but @danboy. we've had TWO league games...TWO...
If we've played 6/7 games and there's no sign of improvement, we're still leaking goals and getting beaten, then yes, absolutely, RDZ should be hauled in and maybe a decision will have to be made that will cost the club a fortune to make.
But until then, I think just getting behind the team and the manager is what we all need to do for now and see where we're at in a month or so...

Sort of. That whole starting XI was like a scene from the island of misfit toys. RDZ's hands were tied by injury and the like and it showed with the team selection, performance and result. I am hoping we get some sort of result, even a draw (with us scoring) this weekend

After the first two weeks of the season, we are tied & listed at the bottom of the table with Villa. 0 goals for, 5 against, but at least we've had a shot on goal.🥳
