Nothing good to say except that we’re not out of the tie. Just a dismal performance.

We've a bunch of absolute snowflakes at our club. Precious snowflakes. Fair play to AZ. They were well organised and every one of them knew their job and gave it everything. Basically, the opposite of what we were.

Yes, AZ were very good. Other than Vicario, I thought only Bergvall (ironically given the OG) and Spence looked interested in being positive and actually taking the game to them. The list of players who were poor is too long to mention. We just looked completely unprepared for this game.

Right, wrong, or whatever, it's hard not to think that the manager's job is hanging on the result of the home leg.

Missed the game due to the slight inconvenience of flying to Amsterdam :)

Sounds like an absolute shitshow though, especially after having 8 days since the last game and, apparently, Ange giving the players two days off as well.

It’s recoverable in the home leg but they have to be ten times more up for it than it sounds like they were for this.

Insipid.

We are lucky to still be in the tie.

Son is cooked. Johnson provides nothing. I thought Danso was poor. Odobert did nothing with his 45 minutes.

I thought Bergy was good, Vic was excellent and Tel tried hard feeding off scraps but held the ball up ok. Spence was ok, but just ok. Gray was solid.

The rest. Yuck.

And one more thing, James Maddison has again run for hills in a big game.

The guy is a downhill skier, if ever I saw one.

I only saw a small portion of the first half.
And since others brought up Son, there was an instant near the end of the half where Spurs broke forward. Son had the ball on the left & carrying it into the box. Udogie busted his ass running to 70 yards to overlap, the defender didn't go with Udogie so the layoff was there. Unfortunately, Sonny kept the ball & made nothing with it. You could see the disappointment in Udogie through his body language. Effort was there but no end product.

Been reported by some fans in attendance that Vicario and Maddison came over to them at the end and started kicking off at them and telling them to get behind the team amongst other things.

It’s a bit fucking rich coming from Maddison, isn’t it?

The guy doesn’t look as though he even gives a shit most of the time. I’m not one for fans abusing players but James fucking Maddison personifies everything wrong with Tottenham. Whenever we beat up on some average team, Maddison is usually amongst it…but how often does he show up when we really need him?

There is every argument that he was the worst player on the pitch today. So frankly, he can shut the fuck up until he contributes when we need him to.

Ange on Vicario:
Tottenham Hotspur: Ange Postecoglou took time during his press conference to stick up for Guglielmo Vicario after the Spurs goalkeeper got in a heated exchange with some travelling fans in the wake of Tottenham’s defeat at the hands of AZ Alkmaar last night.

“Vic is very, very passionate about this football club,” he said of the Italian. “He is very passionate about what we’re trying to do here and he wants to win and wants everyone on board with that. If people think there is one bad or vindictive bone in Vicario’s make up, they don’t know the man that I do.

“Vicario is one of the purest human beings you’d ever come across. Whatever he does, he thinks it’s best for the team, best for the football club because he really cares.”
