Yeah I don't know why he's bothering, he's had to halve his salary to £150,000 a week.......almost not worth getting out of bed for....!!!

Yes, this was the point I was trying to make.

Being reported today that we're also in to take Iheanacho as part of a potential Walker deal.

If Walker goes to City, I'd gladly take Iheanacho as part of it. 20 year old, who will score goals in the league, even with the restricted minutes he's got. If anyone can mould him, it's Pochettino. If we think KWP is going to be good enough, and soon... might make a lot of sense.

I don't want to see Walker go, but Iheanacho to us would be an astute buy... harder to get a striker with his kind of minutes per goal, which is like... 106 if Sky Sports are to be believed, at his age than it is to get a full back in my opinion.

Depends how much money comes our way in the deal but this is a potentially very good deal. 25-30 mil and Ihaenacho would be a good deal for me. He'd get the chance to move to a team that has finished above City the last couple of seasons too.

Yeah, I agree, I actually said £25m and Iheanacho would be a good shout to a mate.

James has gone to Bayern on a two (eh?) year loan

Really strange deal James going to Bayern. A two year Liam for one of the best attacking midfielders in the game..

Edit: loan not Liam. Stupid auto typing correct thingy.

I thought Iheanacho was going to Leicester? Be a great bit of business bringing him in as support for Harry. I rate the kid and with the right attitude can see him doing well under Poch. No idea where it leaves Janssen though..? Be overkill to have them both as backup options. Still think Janssen has something to offer personally.

Given the fact it looks like Man City have missed out to PSG for Dani Alves, our position regarding Walker/Man City should be even further in our hands in terms of the fee/deal we want. Guessing they will push even harder to secure Walker now if he is their no1 RB target. As I've said before, with Trippier's performances tail end of last season in mind, if Walker wants to leave I'd not be devastated about him going for the right price/deal.

Iheanacho is a decent player from what little I have seen.

Agreed walker for him and 30 mill is a superb deal considering we have Trips here already firmly knocking on the first team RB door.

I'd happily suck that one up. Swap deals rarely go through though so pinch of salt required.

Oh.... and a significant portion of that 30 big we'd clear I'd like to see spent on something else young fresh and keen to develop. I liked the young Dembele from Scotchland that we seemingly missed out on last year.

I literally have fuck all idea who that could be though.

Thing is Celtic will want far, far more for a still unproven Dembele, compared to Iheanacho who we know can bag goals in the Premier League.

I'd take Ihaenacho to be honest, although I haven't seen loads of Dembele other than highlights but even Paulinho looked good on a highlight video.

Raw, not getting games, I think he wants to prove himself. He is literally the right kind of player for us.

BREAKING NEWS

Juventus have confirmed the signing of Douglas Costa from Bayern Munich.

The Brazilian arrives on an initial season-long loan with an option to buy.

Juve have paid €6m (£5.3m) for the loan agreement and must trigger their option before June 30, 2018 to sign the player permanently for a further €40m (£35m).

That fee may rise by another €1m (£890,000) depending on performance clauses.

We are the only club in prem league not to have signed a player! Keep seeing a massive melt down over it! Is it really a problem??

Keeping the core of this squad together and adding some quality if possible this summer is key for me.

Our dilemma is that it is always nice to add some shiny new players but we are a club that is performing extremely well & much better than anyone expected, all without breaking our wage structure. We have the youngest team that has established a unique synergy & been on an upward trajectory with little addition. Unfortunately, those we had added in essence contributed very llittle (Sissoko, Janssen, N'Koudou) with the exception being Wanyama. We also have the anticipation of playing in the National Stadium prior to the opening of NWHL. I don't know any other club that has achieved this with a negative net spend or at worst, balanced books. Other clubs are acting like casino patrons, spending big & then jumping off balconies.

Some may look at the lack of signings as standing still but the players we have are a remarkable fit for what MP wants. We have to be careful & cautious of whom we bring in. In terms of our culture or philosophy, we are miles ahead of any competitor. everyone else's solution to poor results is to splash the cash in extreme ways. We've done it in an organic/holistic way. Something that I wear as a badge of honour.

I find a sense of pride in the fact that we don't necessarily have to buy in order to compete at the top.

I will confess that proper additions do add excitement.

This is exactly it for me....If all bar Walker have remained that is good enough for me. We will get Rose and Lamela back. If Pereira and Barkley come in for Walker we would have created strength.

If Sissoko goes I would like to see him replaced by Lemar....(not happening) and Wimmer can be replaced by the Argy kid

That would be a good window for me

£50m+ for Walker... Thank you very much Dani Alves!!

Sad to see him go (presuming they agree terms) and very thankful for his service over the years. Hopefully Trips can fully step up now.

Also, I agree that we don't need to bring much in but I do think it's important that any squad has a couple of new faces to freshen things up. It's good for the top players at the club to see we are still pushing to improve and not standing still or completely reliant on the current players stepping up another level yet again. I'll also admit that I get excited in the transfer window watching everyone's movements and changes. I just want one exciting signing haha.

Not saying we need to contribute to the current chaotic deals happening in the league but a first XI quality attacking midfielder (Barkley?),RB to compete with Trips and a CB (Mawson?) if Wimmer goes would be good. To me that would be tinkering with the squad very little and would do no harm, only positive - always room for improvements to any squad.

I just hope we get one proven player in (eg Wanyama) who can hit the ground running rather than us having to decide whether to keep the faith and give them a second season's chance (eg N'Koudou, Vinny, Sissoko, Njie, etc).

If we don't get another centre back our title chances go to nil.

Can't go into a season playing 3 CBs with no cover aside from a young and still not ready CCV, especially when one of your CBs is primary cover for DM.

The versatility of being able to play a 4-2-3-1 or a 3-4-2-1 is great, and having players like Dier that can cover 3 positions at a top level is fantastic. But if Dier blows out his knee, we will be forced back into a 4-2-3-1 with no adequate cover for RB, CB1, CB2 and DM. That is an unacceptable risk for a team in our position, if we have to re-invest 25M on a top second string CB, it is sadly worth it to us right now.

By the way, with this situation in mind Dier is probably valued by Levy at around 80M. Replacing him with at least 2 similar class players this summer would cost as much.
