Transfer watch (Summer 2017)

No one has either enquired or indeed bid for the young man, so talk of his transfer is somewhat wide of the mark.
It's not really wide of the mark though as he has 12 months remaining on his current contract, hasn't signed the contract he's been offered, and Koeman has said he will sell this year instead of losing him for free next year. Everton have signed two players that can play his position this summer too. Although no official bids have been made I'm sure there will be interest from more clubs than us at the end of the window as once that window closes his value plummets. Unless he signs a new deal.

I would like to know, via THST, directly or indirectly by other channels....whether we have a transfer budget this Summer (Levy has said previously that transfer funds are protected),how much it is, since we've raised about £70m so far in player sales, to add to the alleged fun of say £50m, whether the 'glass ceiling' on wages still exists and how much it is and finally who controls the budget in terms of selecting the transfer targets.

I fully appreciate that we are unlikely to get any answers on the above, but I would like to ask the question anyway. For the avoidance of doubt I'm not that worried about who if anyone we sign, as long as that is Poch's view. If however the manager wants players and Levy isn't backing him, then I am very bothered indeed.

Yeah! Levy is a cunt so that's probably definitely absolutely what is happening!!!! You know that I am obsessed with the truth and facts, unless the thing I am banging on about doesn't have any facts available. I don't need no stinking facts to know that Levy is a cunt and is blocking the godlike Poch's player requirements by keeping all that money in his pocket. I think the fund should be way more than the £120m you pointed out, if you were reasonable, like me, I am very reasonable, you might say that there is £250m unspent transfer budget from the previous 5 years, regardless of profits made from selling players. Every club in the Premier League would have to budget for spending that much I would have thought? So, that means there is a squllion quids that the cunt Levy is stopping his majesty King Pokeechino form spending - the cunt.

#LevyOut!

#LevyIn (the new Levy would be worse than the old one! ).

Levy speaking today in US at the nasdaq

Does the new stadium impact the club's activity in the transfer market?
"I'd answer that in two ways. Regardless of the stadium project, today our position on transfers is that we have a coach that very much believes in the academy.

"Unless we can find a player who would make a difference he would rather give one of our academy players a chance so that's regardless of the financing of the stadium.
"Obviously when you're building a stadium of this magnitude in a UK context it all has to be privately financed. There's no state help whatsoever.

"It is a challenge and we have to find the right balance but it's not impacting us at the moment on transfer activity because we're not yet in a place where we've found the player who we definitely want to buy but can't afford to buy."

What is your view on other clubs' spending during this window?
"My view is that it's totally unsustainable. I'm not sure if that's the view of the other Premier League clubs, but certainly the prices that are being paid for other Premier League players I can't see it being sustainable in the long term.

"I think I am a custodian of this football club. This club has been around since 1882 and when I leave it will be somebody else. I think we have a duty to manage the club appropriately. I don't think that long term for any club it's sustainable to spend more than you earn. You can have periods where you do but over the long term you can't.

"I think that some of the activity that's going on at the moment is just impossible to be sustainable. You know if somebody is spending £200m more than they're earning then eventually it catches up with you. You can't keep doing it.
"We've managed the club, we think, in a very appropriate way. We've invested a lot of money in physical facilities for long-term growth. So we've got one of the world's best training facilities. We've invested over £100m in that facility.

"We're now investing in the stadium. The stadium is fundamental because with that we get more fans and more income and that's the way to clearly have a more sustainable business.

"At the same time the academy is important because we can produce our own players. We don't have to go and spend £20, £30m, £40m on a player and obviously that homegrown player has an affinity with the club that a player we buy doesn't. That's what the fans want to see. They want to have that passion. That's what you get with a homegrown player and that's why people love Harry Kane and sing that he's one of our own."

All I can hear is blah, blah, blah, I'm a cunt and the money is staying in my pocket and as long as I get away with being the luckiest cunt on the planet and the Academy players that cost me fuck all carry on being tremendous I will say that that's what the people who provide me with all this lovely money want - and I will be right, until the wheels fall off and it goes tits up and those greedy fuckers start demanding the same wages they could earn anywhere else - then I'll sell the fucker and fuck off. Just because we earned £200m last year and I am making so much money with the EvilCo property portfolio, doesn't mean we have any to spend, we can't spend more than we've earnt like I said, and as we have only made hundreds of millions I am spending fuck all, like I have for the last five years and selling players to make even more. I'm off to count all that season ticket money now toodle-pip.

I'm sure Levyophiles will start building the statue after reading that old waffle that a blind bloke could see through with a fucking bag on his head and his hands in his pockets so he couldn't read the total bollox in braille - but then that would assume that 'the people', who have spoken, had any brains and were ready to use them. If the cunt Twittered it then it would be believed absolutely just like all that other shit they believe.

How fitting is it that Levy was speaking from the NYSE? The phrase 'pig in shit' comes to mind.

Everton midfielder Ross Barkley is "looking for a new challenge" and the club "100%" expect the player to leave, says manager Ronald Koeman.

Barkley, 23, has one year left on his contract but has failed to sign a new deal.
"We made a good offer of a contract, he declined," said Koeman on Wednesday.

Clear come and get me call.
If it's true that Everton value him at £50 million(!) and that he's demanding 150K/week he'll be calling for a while. I think he would do well under Poch's tutelage, but it's hard to see how he'd crack the regular starting XI barring injury

Cant see the £50m value being what they will get, they are saying dirty sanchez will go for less as he is down to 1 year left also.
I agree he`d be like Son a player around the 1st team but not always first on the team sheet, shows how difficult to sign cover is when you are paying £30m for squad/cover/potential.We are pretty midfield heavy if you say Dier, wanyama, dembele, eriksen, son, dele, winks, lamela, nkoudou, sissoko, and then decent kids onomah, georgiou, edwards there abouts, the 1st seven mentioned indispensable next year, lamela dunno his state of mind&health, but id be happy to swap Barkley for both sissoko and nkoudou,he can cover a few areas is his advantage.

As far as I'm concerned mate, if you cut both those figures in half then that's about his actual worth. The kid has talent but he needs a serious kick up the backside and he needs to listen and learn, coz from what I've seen of him of late, he's barely improved at all since his breakout season.

Yeah, but to be fair I'd swap Sissoko for nothing, and maybe kick in a few quid myself for the Uber that drove him off. Nkoudou I'm not quite ready to give up on yet, thought he was clearly trying to make an impression last night, and seems to have a good attitude. With Walker gone his pace is a bit of a rare commodity in the squad.

RE: Barkley, it's really just a matter, as chavhater says, of whether he's willing to do what's necessary to kick on as a player. If he wasn't, he'd be a League Cup regular for Poch at best, as we've seen with Sissoko.

Even if we did sign Barkley,I would pretty much write the 1st season off, must be very difficult to come into a well oiled pressing machine that is us right now,I could almost feel sorry for sissoko....almost.No pre-season and a strict system to fit into, hardly ideal for a player (Barkley) either neglected by coaches or allowed to become unmotivated or worst case is a waster of his talent, yeah talked myself into even around 30m is too much of a shot in the dark.I would like him but wont cry if leics or someone pays over the odds.
Out of interest how much did the spammers lose on Payet selling low last year, surely he would have gone for 40-50m this summer??

Haha, didn't think of that. Idiots should have just burned 20m in notes in the center circle of their shit stadium. Though I think Bilic wanted him gone due to his attitude. They should've loaned him out pending a sale this summer, surely it can't have come as a surprise back in January that fees would be inflated now?

One thing I'll say for Barkley over Sissoko is that he is still very young (though it seems like he's been around for ages). His decision-making is not always the best though, and that (when to step and press, when to stay at home) is important in our system, as much as the workrate and graft everyone talks about. Even Victor, who's a very intelligent player and had played with Poch before, struggled with that at first IMO. All that being said, I've thought for a while now that Barkley would be our big signing this summer if we made one at all. Not sure how excited I am about that, but there you go. It would be nice if we went ahead and made it happen if indeed it is the plan.

Yeah, as others have said, can't see us outlaying 50m for Barkley, but for all his current faults would be a big upgrade over Sissoko, who is quite possibly the only professional footballer I've ever seen who plays like some of the massive kids we play in u9s who paper over their lack of or intermittent capability to display technical ability with a huge relative age effect bonus. Who needs to learn to control the ball when you the other kids just bounce off you and can't actually get to the ball when you put your arms out?

I noticed that Mourinho also agreed with Levy the other day in that these spending numbers are not sustainable. I guess they are whilst folk keep paying £85.00 a month for SKY and £35.00 for BT and £80.00 for a ticket etc etc.
