I noticed that Mourinho also agreed with Levy the other day in that these spending numbers are not sustainable. I guess they are whilst folk keep paying £85.00 a month for SKY and £35.00 for BT and £80.00 for a ticket etc etc.
I'm one of the fuck heads with a full sky package and season ticket to. I stop short of payi

Apparently Barcelona are going to buy Coutinho, Hazard and Alli with the money from Neymar.

Good luck with that.

I read over the weekend that Neymar's father and also his agent has told PSG not to negotiate the transfer from Barcelona (for which he will pick up about €50m) until after 31st July. On that date his €23m 'commission' from re-negotiating his son's contract at the end of last year becomes due....

You can't make this stuff up, more fool the clubs.

Pochettino reveals truth behind one theory about Levy, Alvaro Morata and how transfers get done
The Tottenham boss has been speaking about the chairman and plenty more

One accusation that has been levelled at Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is that he doesn't spend the money his managers ask of him on new signings.

While the Spurs supremo has taken the club on in leaps and bounds behind the scenes, some fans still distrust his decision-making in the transfer market, with a perception that he doesn't back his managers, looks for late bargains and the bosses eventually grow frustrated.

Tottenham, who play Juventus at Wembley this Saturday in their final pre-season friendly, are yet to sign anyone this summer but manager Mauricio Pochettino shot down that theory about Levy not backing his managers.

"That is a very wrong perception. In three years, my experience with Daniel has always been trying to find a player to improve," he said. "The difference is were they the right or wrong signing? But I think Daniel is very keen to sign every season in my experience.
"The problem I think is so clear. We have strategy and some ways to sign players and for different reasons. Our fans know that we are not a club today that can compete with Manchester United and City for a player. We cannot fight.

"We are in a different way. But the thing is Daniel is very keen to sign players like me. These type of players we are talking about, it's very difficult to put pressure on. They're not easy to find."
The Spurs boss used a conversation he had a couple of years ago with new Chelsea signing Alvaro Morata as an example of the problems he faces.

"Morata talked about me, in the media he said 'Mauricio called me'. That was from the beginning, two years ago or more. He said to me 'Why do you want me if you have Harry Kane?'

"You know, if you go to try to sign a striker, they will say 'Eh gaffer, you want me for what? To be on the bench? Because it's Harry Kane, I can't compete with Harry Kane' or Hugo Lloris or different players," explained Pochettino.
"Then it's so difficult to convince good players to come and then be on the bench. Then the problems starts. You know better than me. Kane doesn't play, he'll get frustrated, disappointed and his motivation drops.

"Then it's better to play with younger players through the academy that you can improve and teach and maybe one day they can become a very good player and then their motivation is always higher.
"Because that is important too. If you are a player in Manchester United and you don't perform you are out. But at Tottenham, we are a completely different project.

"Here it is to play like a team, together and we need all the players motivated, the players that play a lot and the players who will not play. That balance is difficult and that is why we are different too."Since the departure of head of recruitment Paul Mitchell, the transfers round table at Spurs now includes chief scout Steve Hitchen, academy head John McDermott, Pochettino and Levy.
"Before it was the same. I think it was Mitch before or Franco [Baldini]. We have a lot of meetings, spontaneous meetings, talking every day on the training ground. We are all involved in the process," said the boss.

"Of course the last decision is between Daniel and me if we sign the player. But we are all involved in the process to try to find the right player for us."

Barcelona have just released this statement on their website, confirming Neymar's intentions to leave the La Liga side.

Here is the statement in full:

The player Neymar Jr, accompanied by his father and agent, has informed FC Barcelona this morning of his decision to leave the Club in a meeting held at the Club’s offices.

Faced with this position, the Club has informed them they refer to the buy-out clause of his existing contract which as of 1 July totals 222 million euros which will have to be deposited in its entirety.

Furthermore, in reply to the claim for the contract extension bonus, the Club has once again made it clear that the amount remains deposited with a notary until the case is resolved.

The player remains under contract at FC Barcelona but with temporary permission to not take part in training sessions.

Edinson Cavani scored almost three times as many league goals (35) than Neymar (13) last season.

You know, looking at this Neymar transfer... has football officially gotten obscene now? A few summers ago, I'd have not have agreed. Sure, Bale and Ronaldo were expensive... we're looking at a player that's worth more now over his contract length than West Ham.

The poo I scooped up behind my puppy on our walk tonight is worth more than West Ham.

But of course it's obscene. And as Levy said not long ago, it's unsustainable--the bubble is bound to burst at some point. PSG will say that Neymar's popularity and global visibility makes him more than worth it as an asset, but that number is just unfathomable.

Indeedy doody, all bubbles burst, but for some strange reason folks don't believe they will until they do, then they are surprised, stupid folks.

I suppose us football fans can't complain about these obscene amounts of money as we have provided the wedge. If we stop paying for Sky, stop paying ridiculously high ticket prices, stop buying the stupid useless tat the club shops sell at inflated prices then it will end.

There is an upside, the taxes paid by these blokes 'should' be huge and that benefits communities. Personally I would seize every penny they had if they were caught avoiding or evading tax, that is the truly obscene thing. People like Ronaldo and Messi stealing money from the people who provide their ridiculous lifestyles. The system in the UK where players can squirrel away a portion of their huge salaries in offshore images rights companies - avoiding UK tax is under investigation and hopefully that loophole will be closed. I would never support any of our players if they were involved in a tax avoidance scheme, they would be the same as Judas to me. HMRC is investigating football, but they probably will 'do a deal' and accept well short of what these thieving cunts should pay - remember Ecclestone? He owned £1bn but the incompetent feds celebrated getting £10m from him, 1/100th of what the bill should have been. The head of HMRC should be in jail for treason.

Finally. Now everyone can stop their incessant bitching and moaning about not signing anyone.
didnt know whether to give it agree or funny!!
Jesus its become like civil war out there amongst fans,i wanna tell them yeah levy and lewis can dip into £50m if you put in £5,000 towards it too.Its not even like there is any consensus over who to buy?As Lopez returned guess we needed a 3rd keeper as safety.Surely there is going to be a complete knock on from other transfers coming up,siggy goes to everton?surely barkley has to be sold?as one player is signed another become available,we have a great top 14 players, some up&coming, some under achievers who may improve 2nd season?Did we finish 8th last year or???
thought Poch`s interview stated how it is pretty correctly.

Yep, two most important pieces of the summer was the Michael Cox article: http://kwese.espn.com/football/engl...ransfer-window-despite-making-no-new-signings

And the recent MP interview.

The only thing that we really must sign is decent CB cover should Dier need to play in the middle for Wanyama (unless CCV is really in the fold). Everything else is secondary to not losing anyone from our best team in 50 years. Which for the most part we have done fantastically.

As long as we gel at Wembley, we're set for a genuine title-challenge with the team we've got. MP's interview nailed it.

I wonder if UEFA will fine PSG another £20m for breaking FFP rules again? Will the Qatari tyrants that own them give a fuck? Nah, it would be like fining me 1p. Financial Fair Play is a joke.

I would hope/assume that a player or two might be available at PSG now. I'd take a Pastore, Moura, or Di Maria in a heartbeat. That Rabiot lad might be a good shout too.

Di Maria didn't look too good at United though. These players that cost £90m+ and £150k+ a week (that's nearly £8m a year) are 1 person in a team of 11. Now in my view there are probably less than 5 players that could make that sort of a difference to a team's overall performance, value and success and Neymar probably isn't one of them. Messi and Ronaldo would be two.

So I'm not bothered at the moment that we are not signing these people that are going to cost £100m in the first year alone, and upset the equilibrium and harmony in the dressing room. The only caveat is that if Poch really wants a player, withing reason Levy needs to back him.

La Liga has rejected an attempt by lawyers for Barcelona forward Neymar to pay his buyout clause of 222m euros (£198m).

The Brazilian, 25, is expected to sign for Paris St-Germain for a world record fee, after telling Barcelona he wanted to leave the club on Wednesday.

Spanish media say La Liga officials believe PSG are violating Uefa's Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.

Think Di Maria had issues at United as van gaal played too defensively for him but he'd be class under Poch and with our team. Personally think he's the type of player that would make a huge difference to us. Not sure the finances would be suitable for us but he'd not cost 100m.
