That doesn't ruin my life... what are they expecting him to do that he hasn't already?

I don't see him making them or them making him better.

Might have the same impact as Drinkwater

Can't help but think we do need a fresh face in the centre of the park/squad to liven things up. Don't have to be an unearthed gem maybe even a strong experienced leader type to help Kane motivate the squad.

Who in Europe is that vocal leader who throw some fucks into these lads who think they are the bitches clit without ever winning a trophy. What type of player could drive us up through the gears and bring us some silverware.... but also where and who's place do they occupy.........?

Hopefully the return of wanyama could spark this. Bit of blood and thunder to get the rest of the team riled up a bit.

He's a decent player, but that's it. Doesn't get into the England team very regularly, so he's behind several other English players, let alone the Europeans and rest of the world. He's not good enough for us in terms of really improving our squad and he over rates himself . In short not good enough and too expensive.

Barkley is not a big miss for me.
Actually glad the uncertainty is over.
I believe we can do better (even in this window if need be).

Basically Barkley has picked the bench that puts more cash in his pocket. He wouldn't play for us and he'll play even less for them.

rumour is poch said no after levy agreed fee and wages in principle from our side, dont think we got to speaking to Barkley,as i said its rumoured poch didnt want to risk an injury prone player and the squad morale re-wages on such a gamble as he saw it.

That can only be a good thing. I think over the years many a player has been bought by levy and then the manager been told this is who u are working with. If Poch is hand picking his players then he knows what he is looking for.........

If he picked Sissoko though then I'm nervous Hahaha.

We'll get by. Poch will just switch to a system with no wingers. Oh, wait, he already has. ;)

Gotta admit i am not enamored with the emoji selection.

Some sites stating that Andre Gomes of Barcelona has agreed to join Spurs.
None of the big ones jumping on this.

I know there is a mini meltdown cos we didnt sign Barkley and chelsea did,bit like Austin or Berahino from years past, but really I was thinking, meltdown over what?yes signing players is like being given an unexpected nice present, but goalkeepers, defence, striker, dele, eriksen, son, wanyama, winks, dembele, who are we going to sign as a first choice player??yes we could improve the squad in midfield and back up to Kane (even tho we have Llorente and Janssen on the books&Son as an able stand in),if we take a midfielder someone has to go,Sissoko and brace yerself finchbee!,Lamela.I dont want to get rid of Lamela no doubt we lost Nkoudou to maybe allow Lamela to be added to the CL squad?
Gomes,Barkley, sessegnon who or how are they going straight into the team for or when?not these months barring injury.Yes people will call Levy out for a net save on transfers, but there is no obvious signing to be made for here and now IMO,sessegnon for rose perhaps if we sell him, someone if we sell sissoko.I think rumours of us signing anyone are just that,if we do it will be a left field choice that fits Poch`s philosphy and our budget cos as far as immediate needs I think we will stick with what we have til July.

A lot of the talk about signing Gomes is as a Dembele replacement.
Dembele has struggled with injuries & form thus limiting his availability.
Furthermore, even if the above is nonsense, if we sell Sissoko, we should bring in some quality.

Some other stuff that I have been reading relates to us not even bidding for Barkley.
This is seen as something quite promising.
In a nutshell, Poch sees better options out there & thus we will spend 'big' in the summer & get a marquee signing for the NWHL..

Who knows.

i really think we will defer any business til the summer unless a chance arises which is rare in january. Its why i think any dembele replacement would be then? The one advantage with Barkley was he knew the league, coming in from europe or sth america in january and being up to Poch`s fitness demands is a big issue mid season.I think not bidding for Barkley was all Poch, too many reasons not to outweighing why we should have.

Sanchez has embedded fairly well and adapted...

Maybe we pick players who have that capacity and maybe Barclay was considered not to have that in him.

Barkley is ordinary. FFS, the guy wasn't starting regularly at Everton........and that was when he was fit.

I am beyond pleased that he went to Chelsea.

http://www.espn.com/soccer/soccer-t...elsea-tottenham-chasing-stevenages-ben-wilmot

Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are tracking Stevenage's teenage defender Ben Wilmot, sources close to the League Two club have told ESPN FC.
The four Premier League clubs all watched Wilmot in action during last weekend's FA Cup clash with Reading.
Wilmot played the full 90 minutes and impressed as he helped Stevenage earn a goalless draw.
The 18-year-old has come through Stevenage's academy and signed his professional contract at the club last April.
He has yet to make his debut in League Two for Stevenage, but he has made four appearances in all competitions so far this season.
Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea have all been making regular checks on Wilmot this season as they weigh up moves.
Brighton & Hove Albion are also interested in Wilmot and have seen a couple of bids rejected.
Stevenage have high hopes for Wilmot and they are bracing themselves for offers for their prize asset before the close of the transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has made it clear that the club will not sell any star players they don't want to next summer.

Spurs stars such as Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Toby Alderweireld have all been linked with mega money moves away from the club in recent weeks, but after touring the club's new stadium site, with London mayor Sadiq Khan and Mark Waller, the NFL executive vice-president, Levy shot down that speculation.

"I'm 100 per cent confident. Every single player that we want to keep, I can assure you will be playing for Tottenham Hotspur next season," the Tottenham chairman told Sky Sports News.

Spurs' only business in the January window so far has been to send Georges-Kevin Nkoudou out on loan to Burnley. The club rarely sign players in the winter window - their last transfer being Alli's in 2015 and he was loaned straight back to MK Dons for the remainder of the season.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that he might be tempted to bring someone in this month in order to acclimatise them for next season due to Spurs' usual strategy of buying late in the summer window.

Poch on transfers this month: "We're working. We're awake to the market. If something is available on terms we can take, of course we'll do it. But if not, it's difficult."

Danny Rose is halfway to Manchester at St Georges park having his knee looked at, you'd think that Sessegnon could make it across London?

Total bollocks being posted on t'internet thingy about how 'typical' it is that we have backed out of a Malcom deal because of the money and we are 'pathetic'. Duh? Is he really that good? Surely not Berahinio or Adam level? Not buying those two was shocking, not buying Malcolm will mean we can never win anything, ever.

I don't know naffing about this geezer, only the stats, 22 goals from 118 league appearances doesn't seem the sort of stats I would expect from a striker who will save us from doom! Maybe he is the very bollocks of the dog, but going all full-tantrum when one geezer who probably knows fuck all posts that we have pulled out because of the fee is annoying as fuck.

He looks like a good player and people who watch Ligue Un regularly and whose opinion I respect think he's a good player but I would wager that as he plays for a pretty average Ligue Un team, most people haven't watched more than highlights reels of him. I'd guess Bordeaux will hold out for quite a lot of money in the next window.
