what did we pay for him....10-14 million ish... I guess it's good business... seeing how he didn't kick a ball for us. I think we might regret it, I would have sold Romero.. Radu.. Danso(he's world class so imagine what he would fetch).
Saying that De Zerbi appears to have a plan and it feels like he's being backed, so I'm optimistic (as always)

Hi uspur, not been in for sometime, but looking at the supposed major transfers we are undertaking. Robertson/ Senesi Free transfers, ok. Tonali £100million are they crazy! Fernandez from West Ham £85 million ( so good he has been relegated for the last two seasons on the trot! And we give bloody West Ham 85 million. What the Heck, or Van De Heck from Brighton 52:million for someone entering the last 12'months of his contract. Why pay over £30 million! Total bloody joke both if them. No forward signed yet. Vlhavoic goal scorer extraordinary avalable on a Free Transfer. Done nothing!. Talking of selling Vuskovic, before he has played at Competitive game. Why? Best defender in German league last season at age 19. Why are we thinking of selling him yet taking Senesi and What the Heck! Total total crap plan. Got the youngsters who have been out on loan Moore, Devine, Donley and the forward Lankshear all need to be called into the first team squad. Get rid of Italion Stallion Keeper, and Romero,! Asap..We do not need to be splashing stupid money on every carlo kickaball, from the World Cup. De Zerbi is taking the stupid route with iffering crazy fees and wages. Remember no European Football Next Season. So league and Domestic Cups must be a priority. danboy61.

To be fair youre quoting a february 2026 post

TBH, I think the deal is good for all parties. If he becomes amazing, we have the right to buy him back, 20% cheaper than other clubs.

This also gives us Tonali money, which is the most important thing right now for what we need to do as a club.
Apparently the "matching rights" clause allows us to match any bid they end up receving for him.

True. But let’s say a club offers £100 million, we would get £20 million of that. So, we could offer £80 million and BHA will be no worse off.

Holy balls .. somewhere Levy is having a coniption fit 😂

This is all fantastic stuff but I hope we've got some money left down the back of the settee for a striker because Solanke certainly isn't the one.

£100 mill.. no way... by the time he's sold it's gonna cost £ 200 mill for a backup keeper..

Got the back up goalie - check, defense sorted - check. Midfield engine room sorted for less then a Lewis family art sell off - check. Get one or two creative players and then why wouldn't Harry come back home!

Fully fit Madders and, hopefully, Kulusevski back could take care of that.

Kudus fit as well and we could be, as the kids might say, "cooking".

Just to keep things in perspective, clubs like City and Chelsea do more than this EVERY season! Shocking that they're good.

This is exactly what I advocated for... Yet I feel entirely uncomfortable about it...

Looking forwards to what this approach could achieve...

This is mental! Romero, and several others must be gone to part fund this. I'm not surprised this is happening tbh...
When Levy was fucked out, they made statements of extra funding and blah blah....and within a season of getting rid of the "issue"...we nearly went down.
Pride, arrogance, self confidence, and reputations were massively hit and now they want to show Levy and us as fans that they mean what they say and they are NOT Levy...

It's all good.

And the price of players is completely irrelevant. It makes no difference to us as fans whether we pay £50m or £100m for a player....the bottom line is, we GET him.
That wasn't happening for years. We're getting Fernandez ahead of Man Utd. That means we obviously put a more attractive package on the table. When's the last time that happened ??? Getting Gascoigne ahead of Utd back in the day ??
We were screaming for some quality and a reboot...well, we're getting it.
Roll on August 22nd!

It’s really weird right? I want and feel like I should be so excited about dropping nearly 200 million on a new midfield but it feels so not like Tottenham.

I know it’s Tottenham, but we are not acting like Tottenham and it feels uncomfortable.

Like, when your wife loses lots of weight and then goes on a girls weekend to Ibiza. Your proud of her, she is finally doing what is best and you want to enjoy it, but you have this feeling she going get banged on the beach by Miguel.

Spurs ain't in any European competition next year pal... We're safe from them getting railed by the Italian Stallions for at least a year...!!!

It does not feel right, I feel like we're gonna get FFP'd or, there will be a fucking scandal of some collosal magnitude, or some other mad as fuck shit to rectify all the seemingly brilliant transfer work that is going on...

Just our luck, the Spurs medical team will get hold of them all and they'll be in wheelchairs before the preseason games are complete...

I'm just worried they might all turn out to be shit...

But I agree with everybody that we're just feeling weird because it's so unfamiliar. Like we've just been let out of Shawshank

Interesting read... normally (grumpy old me) id scoff and say we will see... but I guess I am seeing it (wow)
COYS

a few quick quotes. which are fun...

"They are set to break their club-record transfer fee for the second time in a matter of days, taking their summer spending to £237m - their previous biggest outlay across one season is £235.8m (2023-24) - and there could be more to come."

!!!!!!! "with the potential for a further £250m to be spent this summer".!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"The change in Tottenham's transfer policy began with Daniel Levy ending his near 25-year reign as executive chairman"

"The pursuits of Fernandes and Tonali, both players who have been targeted by Tottenham's big-six rivals, shows that Spurs have increased the squad's wage ceiling, which under Levy had proved prohibitive to attracting elite players"

"further sales will help Spurs to reinvest in other areas of the squad which require improvement, with De Zerbi keen to add reinforcements in attack."
