Richie at last! Right now let's finish this, it's already past my bedtime and I'll get grumpy if it goes to extra time.

It’s a ‘b’ team performance against a stronger side. Not sure we should have made 9 changes for this

Would like to see Bissouma for Skipp and Son for Solomon

4 of their penalties went to exactly the same place, maybe should have stopped at least one of them? Oh well. It will have to be th FA cup now.

That was an unnecessary exit considering the form we were in and the level of the opponent. 9 changes was not needed considering the time between games and the international break coming up.

Ange made a mistake with the team selection tonight and had cost us our best shot at a trophy.

We need a striker and we need a CB, otherwise forget top 4

In all honesty. You're right. It was a very unnecessary gamble and it's cost us badly.

Ange will undoubtedly take the blame for tonight but it's a fat lot of fucking good doing that when we're out.

That's basically one game a week now until January when the FA Cup starts.

First mistake Ange has made at the club. I’ll forgive him for it but making 9 changes was far too many.

I'm gonna argue he has made a very stark and valid point on what we need to recruit in order to compete on multiple fronts...

Let's also not kid ourselves that the dark lords number 1 priority will be Champions League qualification... no cups makes that a more viable possibility...

Tin-pot shit cunt cup anyway...

The number of changes to the side didn't help as it looked quite out of sync.
Many played poorly despite their opportunity to shine against a rather average to lower level prem side. Though Perisic set up a goal, overall he was awful. Hojbjerg was meh but missed an opportunity that an amateur would have slotted home.

Numerous times I thought I was watching Spurs v. 2022-23 with so many back passes.

We've got a bloated side. Ange has already filtered out unsuitable players like Ndombele, Spence, Reguilon, Tanganga, & Dier. After today, he's now had a chance to see & evaluate more players in a game situation before the transfer deadline. That is helpful in shaping the side but a real shame that it came at such a cost.

As for Sanchez, he seemed to be making some positive strides & sort of redeeming himself under Ange's watch. Poor game for him today & will be nailed on to leave at probably a more discounted price to Levy's annoyance. At this level, the mental fortitude of an individual must be at a steely premium & his is still rather fragile.

Was Lo Celso subbed at halftime? If so, and he wasn't injured, that's telling. I had hoped he could contribute more for us.

Forster made some nice saves to keep us in the game. But for all of his size & intimidating presence during the pens, he didn't even get remotely close to any of them.

Besides the exiled 5 mentioned above, I can see these OUTS:
Lloris
Sanchez
Perisic
Hojbjerg
Lo Celso

We need at least one quality CB, CM, wide mad, & striker.
That's a big ask to move that many in less than a week.

Furthermore, this poor performance so close to the transfer deadline must send alarm bells to Levy that the depth of our side is quite shallow.

Seems to be a feeling this morning that a lot of players refused to take penalties and Sanchez still stepped up to take one.

That makes sense. Say what you like about him as a player, he's always fronted up. Good on him to step forward, even if the penalty was shit. But at least two of the Fulham ones were no better, and should have been saved by the friendly giant.
