I'd like to say I can't believe this has happened but I can completely believe it to be honest. We could all be fucked now,

@skiathospurs ... Trump's victory preempted any 2nd Amendment action or Texas seceding to become independent. As far as New York? California?...well, not many people in the US would care if the Bay Area, SoCal, or NY (the city part, not the upstate) fell into the sea. Regarding running for the border, the official Canadian government website for immigration information crashed tonight (true!) -- who knew so many Hollywood celebs were bitten by the ice hockey bug? All I know is that I'm going to have seek psychological help because of what will be a dramatic lack of phone calls to my house starting tomorrow -- don't they still want to talk to me?

Seriously, I think way too much was manufactured and peddled by the media (in my opinion, they are the real losers tonight) as some of the posters above mentioned. It is often very difficult for us in the US (I can't imagine how hard it would be for you folks abroad) to get anything remotely resembling the truth from the media. They made up so many polls (call 7 Democrats and 3 Republicans and then claim the Dem candidate has a big lead -- lots of Trump supporters maintained an "undecided" posture to avoid confrontations) and fabricated so many false flag stories it was ridiculous (I can't believe some of the outrageous stuff I saw on foreign sites concerning the election -- I kept having to check to be sure they were talking about the US election!). Most people I know had made up their minds long before today and with many states having early/mail-in balloting, the gas-lighting efforts of the media fell flat. Interestingly, for better or for worse (I guess we'll find out although I can't believe it can get any worse than Obama),our Founding Fathers never envisioned a professional political class to rule the country; so Trump's victory more closely resembles how we originally thought our country would decide our elections. I don't know how the UK will accept him, but Trump should be well-received in Slovenia, his wife's home country....hey, that's a start!

I feel for you and all humanity, any good may come is that it changes politics in a generational way for the better.
For me politics should be simple, vote for the better person, best person with principles, dignity, never happened in any UK election that "one good person" has come along,so I am not knocking the U.S.However trump or clinton,i wouldnt want either really,Obama i like, not cos of politics or economics or race but cos he is seemimgly a good person,i may be wrong but surely he is a decent human being?I got quite optimistic in a mandela way when he was elected but really whole system is fucked tbh,and yet we go to war to force this system on others, what a mess this planet is eh!
Wish you well mate.

This view (for change) isn't just happening in the UK and US it's throughout the Western world....Austria just recently escaped by the tiniest of margins being ruled by a right wing government and I wouldn't mind betting that Le Pen in France would do very well if an election was called there any time soon. It's the socio economic thing I mentioned earlier, nationals blame foreigners when times are tough. What the majority of people are voting for essentially is to have a better life - change of any sort will do. What they don't seem to realise amongst all the rhetoric is that 'change' might actually be worse.

The only saving grace here and there is that when things actually pan out, rhetoric is one thing and what actually happens is often another. leaders are often just egotistical figureheads when the country is actually run by the civil service. The only downside in the US is that the Republicans also control Congress - so Trump could in theory get some or indeed many of his ideas through. Scary times ahead, maybe.......

Let's focus on Spurs and no-one give CCV a hard time!!

BRITAIN: Brexit is the stupidest, most self-destructive act a country could undertake.

USA: Hold my beer.

:D:D

Me: "No chance Leave will win"
Me: "No chance Trump will get elected"

Calling it now - no chance Spurs will win the league this year.

I don't really have much to say about this except that it makes me physically sick. Only solace and hope for the future lies in the fact that more than half of the population voted against him.

Right been thinking hard about this and there is a glimar of hope that this soppy cunt could actually bring about reform for the US.

If he outs the career politicians poised to line their own pockets and gets real people into jobs where they can make a diference for their country he may bring about real reform.

I think I'm clutching at straws here to be honest as I expect Trump to be the real winner from this with his business associates also making a pretty penny along the way.

There is a glimar of hope though.

Pretty large and significant protests in a lot of major cities last night, social media filled with people saying Trump needs to (and will) "take them out." It's like the people who post in the YouTube comment sections under Obama videos are now running this country.

The demonstrators were all left-wing: notice the pre-printed yellow signs from A.N.S.W.E.R. I didn't know whether to laugh or pity the protestors; consider their claims: "Trump won because of white-lash" ... Trump won less of the white vote than Romney four years ago; "Gender bias in the election" ... Clinton carried less of women voters compared to Obama four years ago. These millennial protestors should have been protesting their own generation: less millennials voted this time compared to four years ago and of those who did, Clinton received 5% less votes from them than Obama did four years ago. These demonstrators are largely products of our public school system and given their brainless arguments it's sad to see how far we have sunk in education.

As a left-winger myself, it's probably best for me just to back away from this thread now and agree to disagree.

@J.spurs ... sorry, mate...didn't mean to step on your toes -- I'd say the same if it was a right-wing sponsored event, too. As an Independent (I'm a classical liberal, as opposed to being a social liberal),I can empathize with Diogenes as he searched for an honest man -- after seven decades I ain't found no such creature in US politics. One thing for sure, we've got to have the sharpest axes in the world; what with everyone in politics, in the media, or in any of the other cottage industries associated with government busy grinding them. And with that, I'm leaving this thread, too.

What sickens me is that our Prime Minister has congratulated a man who has committed what would be serious crimes in this country. What he has done is probably not illegal in the US because he is rich and white, but in the UK these things are crimes, so the PM should not even be recognising this thug as a world leader let alone sucking up to his massiveve ego:
  • Sexual assault
  • Inciting racial hatred
  • Threatening murder
There are probably more, these are only the ones he has bragged about. He is a mentallly unstable, an unintelligent business failure who bangs on about how great he is after his companies have filed for bankruptcy at least 4 times and our government are going into hospital to have tongue extension surgery so they can get deeper up his fat orange arse. Sickening.

Fuck the Special Relationship, how can we have any relationship with a rogue nation with a criminal as its leader? All those guns, all those bullets and the loonies can't even deal with this one bloke!

..and another reason to sever all ties with this cunt and his country, his support for torture:

OK, folks? You know, I have these guys — 'Torture doesn't work!' — believe me, it works. And waterboarding is your minor form. Some people say it's not actually torture. Let's assume it is. But they asked me the question: What do you think of waterboarding? Absolutely fine. But we should go much stronger than waterboarding. That's the way I feel. They're chopping off heads. Believe me, we should go much stronger, because our country's in trouble. We're in danger. We have people that want to do really bad things!

As a civilised country we can not have a Special Relationship with a country that uses torture, sadly we have in the past and should be ashamed, now we can tell them to fuck off - we won't because the world is fucked up and the flag wavers and their isolationist 'democracy' are fucking it up a little bit more every day. Democracy, what a very dumb idea.

On the plus side (struggling to find positives) it would seem that much of the chaotic rhetoric whilst campaigning, which worryingly half the country seemed to like and warm to, was in fact just that and won't be turned into practice, now that people with a brain have had a word and started to advise on policy.

Guess we'll see but certainly at present Hillary remains at large and people with no money can still go to hospital for a band aid.

What the fuck have you done.

I know this cunt doesn't speak or specifically have connections with Trump, but how in fcuks name can this type of shit be tolerated by normal people who want to live in a peaceful quiet loving world.

Dumb as fuck.

These cunts bang on about their first amendment rights to be cunts. In the ex-UK we have civilised laws that make inciting racial or religious hatred a crime, in the third world NSA you can say what you like. Trump could and should be prosecuted in this country so how the fuck can we recognise this failed state or have any sort or relationship with them, let alone a so-called 'Special relationship'?

I watched the TV programne about the hate preachers in the NSA yesterday, so called Christians saying 'homos should kill themselves' and more obscene, disgusting things that even a chav thug would not dare say. They have the right to say what they like, we have the right to boycott the fuck out of this rogue nation.

The nazis, facists, KKK, baptists and other fucking nutcases are getting uppitty now because Trump is doing U turns on all the insane stuff he said, he only cares about himself and his massive ego, he doesn't have any policies, he doesn't care who gets hurt as long as he is in the spotlight. I don't think he is right wing, he used to be left wing, middle wing and every other fucking wing, he has found that spouting right wing hate bollocks appeals to the facists in the NSA and has got him where he wants to be. The really frightening thing is if he thinks the patriotric chanting cunts would shout his name louder if he started a war then that's what he would do.

What a surreal world we are living in. The mentally ill cunt who will soon be the most powerfull man in the world wants us to appoint the ex-leader of the UK Nazi party, Farage, the bloke who fucked the UK up the bottom without lube as ambassador to the rogue nation.

Can you imagine the Ferrero Rocher advert?

Farage, wearing a red UKIP armband enters the embassy dinner party with a tray of goodies for his geusts:

'Ambassador, you spoil us with your pints of bitter and Rothmans Kingsized'

It is so fucking mental, but following the mass mental illness sufferred by UK and US voters it will probably happen, maybe Ant and Dec should start a political party they would win by a landslide.
