It looked magical on the telly, I expect it was even more magical being there. Seeing those ex-players and the fans singing in the rain - and the rainbow over the Lane at the end was a nice touch. Truly magical, if I meet any of you lot next year at Wembley and you bang on about how great it was being there I will hurt you.

The old songs throughout the match, and the 'one Aaron Lennon' almost made my arty hay fevered eyes even more watery. What a great way to end an era, well obviously it's not an end, it's a beginning and I am looking forward to visiting the new Lane, I won't like it of course because it will be new and modern and I don't like that sort of thing at a all.
Well today it was alright.....
Bumped into robbo and the duke on the way into the ground as well, pretty standard fayre really, first 20 mins was alright then I went for a kebab, got back to see united score, yeah alright today was......

Ha ha ...TThe players ran and ran, made United look ordinary and thanks to De Gea we only led 1-0 at half time....at which point we acclaimed our Spurs ladies, Chas & Dave, ballboys and someone else I've forgotten.

Brilliant day.

Looked a brilliant farewell on TV, wish I could have been there. Not going to lie my eyes were welling up when the narrator said "and now we prepare to bid a final farewell to White Hart Lane", the Mrs heard what was going on with the commentary and said even she felt said then laughed her tits of when she came in the living to see me holding a smiling baby with tears in my eyes. Didn't go to the lane this season as buying a house early last year and having a baby in January this year has really hit the wallet in the short term, I just wish I could have had a last goodbye at the place I fell in love with not just spurs but football in general. Onwards and upwards though, I've renewed my membership and this season was 20400 in line for a season ticket, with around 19k season tickets apparently being made available at the new place I'm quite confident I'll get one for the first season at the new lane. It won't make up for not seeing the old one for a last time but it will go some way.

Hope you guys that attended had a cracking day.

White Hart Lane is formally handed over
Posted on 15 May 2017 - 08:40

Chairman Daniel Levy today formally handed the keys to White Hart Lane over to Mark Reynolds, CEO of Mace, Main Contractor for the construction of our new stadium.
We said farewell to our world famous home of 118 years following yesterday’s match with Manchester United - the last ever to be played at the historic venue.

Valuable items from within the stadium have been retained and placed in storage.

Items include notable signage from around the ground and artefacts such as old shirts, trophies and images on display in hospitality lounges and cabinets.

The vast array of items will either be placed on display within what will become ‘The Tottenham Experience’, auctioned in aid of the Tottenham Tribute Trust, donated to local sports clubs and good causes or retained as personal keepsakes by former players who own the items.

Daniel Levy said: “Today marks yet another historic milestone in our continued progress to deliver our world class new stadium.

“However, it is also a sombre occasion upon which the Club formally hands over its home of 118 years - one filled with so many special memories for us.”

Mace now takes on full responsibility for White Hart Lane and will commence the 12-week deconstruction of the stadium, starting with the demolition of the North Stand before moving towards the South, also including the demolition of the Spurs Megastore.

We shall continue to keep fans and local residents up-to-date with key information around the demolition process.

As a kid from the land Down Under my dream ever since I watched the 1981 FA Cup Final as a very small, football obsessed boy was to go to White Hart Lane just once. I got that chance in 2008 just after Harry took over. We beat Blackburn 1-0. Super Pav scored the goal and a rather young Aaron Lennon was MOTM that day. I thought that would be my one and only time but fortunately for me I was back in 2010 for a couple of games and then was lucky enough to have work relocate me to London for a period during 2012-13. My boyhood dream well and truly turned into an obsession and now I get back as often as possible. I love the Lane and am sad to see the old place torn down but I look forward to what the future will bring in our new home, which I am sure will be a magnificent fortress for the mighty Spurs for generations to come.

I have also met many wonderful Spurs fans and have been humbled by the assistance of guys like @Wotspur and @ParkLaneMal in getting tickets occasionally. From my home here in Melbourne in the early hours of this morning I saw my old mate @ParkLaneMal on the telly enjoying the farewell. I had a tear in my eye.

Stevie P couldn't go because Exeter had a huge game yesterday, I didn't know that, I kept telling Mrs Dorset that he would be next, she got bored with me telling her I remembered many of those players and me going 'Chivers' in a chanty sort of way, singing 'Nice one Cyril', telling her how Ossie's knees had gone all trembly, explaining how nice it was to see Chas recovering from cancer, singing 'Oh Ledley, Ledley....' and just generally getting a bit soppy. Some of them have aged really well - the bastrads! Pat looked just like the did 30 years ago, Garth gets rounder every day and could easily get a starring role in a Teletubbies movie. Ossis looks great while Ricky looks like me, knackered. The demi-god Ginola looks as lovely as ever and I am sure has tempted many a straight bloke to be a bit curious, he was so fucking trendy, no suit and NO fucking socks, how cool is that? I was surprised that El Tel didn't seem to be there - maybe he was and was just shy - ha ha, that was a joke!

It would have been nice to have a video recording from legends that couldn't make it, like when the lazy arsed fuckers can't be bothered going to the Oscars, Jimmy of course! JD, Rafa etc. Maybe a video of sadly missed players like Dave Mackay, Danny Blanchflower, Cyril Knowles etc. would have been nice. Possibly they did do that and they just didn't show int on Sky? If you were there, don't tell me or I will get right fucked off with you, I already have to hurt 3 people next year.

The fucking media had to have a pop didn't they? I read statements like 'players mobbed when fans invaded the pitch' oh fuck off you media cunts, just fuck off.

Just a brilliant day, the performance was befitting of the occasion, the stadium with all the flags waving, looked absolutely fantastic and who better to get Spurs' last goal at the lane than Mr He's one of our own!

The party at the end was ace as well, so great to see so many familiar faces and some that I admit, that I'd never heard of, shame that the likes of Gazza, Perryman etc, couldn't be there. Seeing the likes of Howells, Samways and Edinburgh coming onto the pitch, made me appreciate how good we've got it right now more than ever!!

On a sad note, sad to see old Daws get relegated with Ryan but more so for Daws, I loved that guy, wish he could've made his way over from South London, so we could all give him a metaphorical hug!
