Sometimes I feel the media make up all this rubbish (hopefully) about us simply because we look like a settled and happy club with decent players who are enjoying what they are doing.

We don't sling mud and cause issues on the pitch and while we spent considerably less than other so-called bigger clubs we sit currently 2nd in a league where many expected us to implode on our so-called easy ride last season. Instead we just keep going, quietly doing our jobs without massive fanfare playing very attractive football.

Good players
Good bossman
Brilliant season
Great new stadium on its way

If I wasn't Spurs, I'd feckin hate us too...

He will go and will get £30m

Hope not! Walker is one of the many players in the squad I wouldn't be letting go even for stupid money. That's on a personal level.. But If Sissoko is worth 30, Walker one of the best right backs in the world has to be worth more in the real world, especially to Guardiola.

I'm dreading this transfer taking place. We have to much football to play this year with just trips, and an untested replacement for Walker. Such a shame the rumour mill has already started..

It's going to be a long summer.....

Worst thing would be selling to city, like the bayern dortmund transfer roundabout, keep your nearest competitor down by signing their best, selling to the club who finished directly beneath us should carry a very heavy surcharge on the fee if so.

Would he make a difference to the City we saw this year if it were true? Not much probably?

I agree totally, selling any of our players to premier league rivals is plain daft but these things happen unfortunately and with City the nightmare is they offer double our wages.

I don't really think so although he would improve them as a name on a team sheet walkers game is about pace. Something Guardiola doesn't use. He wants central possession.

I find it a bizarre move apart from the money (although I always say how much do u need once earning four zeros a week). He is in a team with one of the best managers in the world, finally seeing a team he has been at for years doing well, playing football with a load of English mates and with a team that truly does seem to be something of a family. Couple that with the new stadium and it baffles me. I would 100% say if it happened it wouldn't be long before he realises the grass isn't always greener...

Hope none of its true!

Keep hearing that it's a done deal to City. I just don't buy it all, the last thing Levy will want, is to sell the best rb in the league to a direct competitor. I don't have an issue with him going abroad at the right price but selling him to one of our competitors just sends out the wrong message.

If he does want to go and doesn't want to go abroad, then he's gonna have to put a transfer request in and kick up a bit of a fuss, coz I can't see Levy just gifting him to City without an almighty fight.

Saying all that, i suppose the other situation is that maybe we and the club shouldn't be too bothered as a rb on his own doesn't have the same impact on a side that say a Kane, Alli or Eriksen would have but what it does do, is fill another piece of the jigsaw for a team that is very nearly there and the last thing we should be doing is helping another competitors progression.

Wonder if after his time dominating the position for us,kyle isnt a sharer and has resented missing CL,cup games and other matches?maybe he sees how good Trippier is in a different way to him and can see less game time.

Pep is a big draw for players because of his past exploits winning stuff in a 2 team league (spain) and a one team league (germany),I would think people should have questions after last season,so many mistakes made, shutting out Joe Hart instead of trying to coach him would have been ok,but his 2 keepers had a mare of a season.Like Wenger he refuses to address defence, you simply cannot play the european possesion from the keeper as much in england, the mindset of fans and players simply wont allow your team to sit back and take a pasting. With Spurs its a bit different because we earnt the right to dominate the ball by running harder than the opposition, city want to play luxury football without the same graft.Another season like last year and Pep is gone IMO,im not saying they will have a similar season but 3rd,nowhere near a trophy, bang i am sure.
For me I expect us to better city again, even if they spend £200m and even take Walker,we are a team,we have a working method, city are like the harlem globetrotters, but no team spirit as such.
I hope Kyle stays and accepts working as a pair with Trippier in all 4 competitions, cos he wont play all PL and CL games at city I would think?A couple of his brain farts which we have learned to accept, wont seem so acceptable when you cost a fair chunk of change.

If it was as good as done then why would he fly out on tour??

He signed a new contract this year I refuse to believe the Levy transfer merry go round is going to let him go that quickly

Correct...

Levy won't want a pocket full of cash when he goes shoppin. If we sell early teams will want what we've got.

If it happens it will be at the very last knocking because that way we shop with teams thinking were skint and we sell when teams are getting desperate for their man.

I know he won't because he doesn't want to scupper any deals but surely the lad could simply say something if he has no intention of moving.

If it is close to being a done deal, which I doubt very much, then i can understand him going on tour, if which is likely, we were contractually obliged to have our full team of players out there but for him to then start is a bit odd.

If I was in negotiations with a club's player and that player was gonna cost me £40 odd mill, I'd try everything to stop that player playing in a pretty meaningless end of season game.

Unless you gave zero fucks... and didn't care if he picked up a knock and stayed as we rate him... if they genuinely want him they want him knock or not. We don't need their cash, they need our player. We hold all the cards

Probably contractual that he played. Promoter wanted specific or a certain number of "stars" to play.

BTW, if City want Walker & insists on going to them, being a rival, I would be asking a lot more than just cash.
If they wish to improve their squad by taking one of ours, I'd emphatically ask for one of theirs: Iheanacho.

Then with the extra cash I'd buy Ryan Sessegnon. He's right footed & is young enough to move to that side.

Off to City for £50m apparently.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40598351

If I'm honest, £50m for a player who may actually be our second choice going forward, who is 27 and who relies very much on his speed. I can't see him keeping that speed as he starts to age, so it's probably not the worst deal in the world for us.

I like walker, he's a worker but £50mil and a packet of skittles they can have him. We'll survive in that position without him no problem at all.

I'm ok with this deal. He's a pace merchant who we'll replace for half that money. I'm hoping this can kick start a bit of spending for us now.

£50 million is a great price for someone who I believe is declining in form. He has pace, but Trippier has a better end product and concentrates better at the back.

Walker's pace makes him a better player than he is, he is one hamstring tear away from being average.

Fuck! I'm disappointed we only got 50 for him, we had City bent over the negotiating table on this one, they had very few options other than Kyle, reckon we could've eked out another 5-10 mill. Still, £50 mill is mentally ridiculous!

Sky sports saying it's in excess of 50 mil so might be closer to 55.
