Shit day,but some people need to get a grip.Look at the table,we are still above them a 3rd into the season, playing at wembley, champions league group of death nailed with 2 games to go.Its the old pre-season predictions of we will finish 6th,smashing that and after a terrible 90mins and result,we are still beating most peoples expectation yet many are acting like those fools on arsetv.Absolutely, missed his calm assuredness. Someone on here said the other week Dier couldn't play CB and I wasn't so sure but after this...
I haven't seen us this disorganised in a long while, such a shame as well but the game came a week too early for us and at least Kane wasn't really fit as demonstrated by the massive amounts of strapping on his leg. Deep squad? We're forced to play Kane and gamble on him regardless. Llorente not good enough to take over? why did we sign him then.
Need to forget this ever happened and move on, there's always the return leg where we can all be fit and show the muppets how today should have gone.
A bit harsh on Llorente maybe, I'd give him a bit more time.Shit day,but some people need to get a grip.Look at the table,we are still above them a 3rd into the season, playing at wembley, champions league group of death nailed with 2 games to go.Its the old pre-season predictions of we will finish 6th,smashing that and after a terrible 90mins and result,we are still beating most peoples expectation yet many are acting like those fools on arsetv.
Llorente?what does he bring to the party??probably peckham tap water?Should have brought JD home for a year or two,he would have shat on soldado`s,janssen and Llorente`s contributions.Jesus I d rather have keano back from his showings so far.
I've kinda calmed down a bit from earlier..
By Fuck that was hard to take.
1. What the fuck was up with the formation. We didn't have a centre midfield. Why? Who was meant to be beside dembele?
2. Kane, alli, Dembele just looked slow and not at the races.
3. Eriksen looked shattered as did Davies.
Sissoko and Trippier I feel can hold their heads up from the game and say they tried their best. The rest had a tough time to say the least. I'm very dissapointed.
What a shame to go out in a game like that with a whimper.
you mean rope.....I hope he comes good, but im not excited so far.A bit harsh on Llorente maybe, I'd give him a bit more time.
I think whilst the defence bar sanchez was poor, the way we matched up left them 3 on 3 or 1 on 1 as many times as I can remember under poch.We couldnt play out from the back, was that us being poor or the options they had to pass to?it all meant that poor as they were, eriksen, dele, dembele didnt get much possesion and when they did we gave it back.Sissoko was the outlet mostly, and he did ok,but his touch had me on edge far too often. For me, we lacked determination & intelligence which may translate into "no motivation".
It just didn't seem like we cared enough.
Yeah, some guys like Kane & Dele may not have been 100%. Dembele was starting for the 1st time in ages. We're playing BVB in 3 days. But many are pinning the player selections on MP. I don't think that is fair. MP can only go on what he sees in training & who wants it most. It's the NLD & Kane & Dele most certainly would have told him that they were good to go. Not wanting to miss it.
Kane I have no problem with because I trust he will give what he has. But there is something amiss with Dele. Just a feeling. He's been off too often this season.
As @Motspur Hotspur pointed out, our backline looked as shaky as I've seen in many years.
Hence why I said we really missed Toby. On both their goals, Dier was "nearly" there but obviously that wasn't good enough. Toby is almost always there. But forget the goals for now (even if they were dodgy). We were Swiss cheese at the back. Even if we tried to park the bus, we would have left all the windows open for them to exploit. Can't explain it. Sanchez was the only redeeming feature & also did well in recovery when others were beaten. He's playing with a lot of confidence.
At times we played very narrow, not utilizing the width, which made it easier for them to defend. Trippier didn't get the ball often enough to whip in some lethal balls. I too, would have liked to have seen Aurier in this match but his speed wouldn't have been worth much offensively if he's not getting the ball.
I heard some crying out that we should have gone to 4 at the back but that would have left us outnumbered in an already outplayed midfield. Arse matched our 6 in the midfield & out-battled us to the ball on many occasions. Taking away another midfielder would have had us overrun.
They were healthier than us & quite frankly wanted it more.
Again, if I was an Arse supporter, I'd be pissed at my squad. Why do these players only show up for this game?
It's only one game but it's a shame we didn't show up for THIS ONE.
why would you do that to yourself!!you`re a braver man than I !!Oh fucking hell....it was shit wasn't it on lots of different levels and for lots of different reasons no doubt, bit we were second best. But it's done now, let's look forward and forget about this horrible performance.
I think this just about sums it up @Don Diaz. You might get away with one or two passing late fitness tests but not 2/3/5 however bloody many it was in a game like this. Throw in the fact that Sissoko wasn't good enough, and Eriksen looked knackered then it's a tough game. Their first goal was a fucker for us too as was never a free kick and was then marginally offside from the free kick too and they seemed to up their game after that where as we had nothing else to offer. Move on to the next one and get a good 4-5 game winning run is all we can try for now. We've had Liverpool, United, Arsenal, and Real twice in the last month and was always unlikely we'd win them all but with this being the goons losing feels a whole a lot worse but we haven't faired badly in those big games as United was a narrow and unfair loss, if we'd drawn one of the two games against Arse ir United we'd likely be pretty happy with the last month. We are still top 4 and ahead of both Chelsea and Arse with an easier run in coming up (on paper) and we've played all the big teams apart from City once so pick ourselves up and go again.I haven't seen the game. Sounds like a few key players weren't fully fit, we were out played and not helped by some poor refereeing. 2-0 fair enough? we'll have to suck it up not run around whingeing like scum fans and move on. It's a kick in the guts because it's Arsenal, but not the end of the world, get everyone fit that's the key thing...another Wembley curse???

Blimey! I would not have given MOTM to Sissoko, oh no sir, nope, not never, ever, never, no I would not, every time he got the ball I shouted "come on geezer, show us what you can too... oh fuck!". MOTM without a doubt for me was Mr Sanchez, without him we could have been really embarrassed.I'd say Sissoko isn't good enough in general, but wasn't in that game is harsh. I'd have given him or Trippier our man of the match. Now what that says about our performance is pretty telling.
I think sissoko's effort levels were OK and looked fitted than others but there were a few occasions at 0-0 where had the ball and played the pass and it just wasn't good enough, often to hard to difficult to control and I remember one that was behind Eriksen when it needed to played for hi to run on to. He's just not good enough for what we need, he's improved on last year but that wasn't difficult to do, but not a spurs player for sure.I'd say Sissoko isn't good enough in general, but wasn't in that game is harsh. I'd have given him or Trippier our man of the match. Now what that says about our performance is pretty telling.
mate he`s like me barefoot running on a pitch of lego trying to control a football.Sissoko works hard, gives everything for the team but he’s simply not good enough for us! I’ve rarely seen a footballer look so uncomfortable with a football at his feet! Can’t wait for Vic to get back.
Exactly. Every time he gets the ball he looks scared, his confidence has gone and too many times he makes a badly timed or just total pony pass and we all go 'Sissokko!' said in a despairing tone of voice. Every time he's playing I tell Mrs D that this will be the game when he shows us how good he is, but he doesn't and maybe it would be better for him and us if he moved on. I am not saying he is a crap player, but maybe he just doesn't fit, it happens, Bobby the Soldier was a totally pucker bloke, a true Yid who put in a shift every game and I love the bloke but it just didn't work out, maybe we have to say Sissoko needs a different system and cheerio?Sissoko works hard, gives everything for the team but he’s simply not good enough for us!
