I've watched them all now, really enjoyed it. It's not Breaking Bad of course, but I like revisiting some of the characters form BB, Mr Fring, Mike and of course Jimmy Mc Gill (Saul). I'm looking forward to series four.

I am a bit late to 3 Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri. If you haven't seen it yet, go, it's brilliant, one of the best films I've ever seen.

Any reviews on 'Darkest Hour' Churchill by Gary Oldman, another Oscar contender apparently.

Fucking nasty places those cinemas. The seats are disgusting - other peoples unhygienic arses have been on them fuckers. They sit there rustling their crisp packets, texting, coughing their disgusting germs all over the place, getting up every 5 minutes to go for a piss, talking throughout the film, nasty! I don't do cinemas, I have got a comfy sofa (and I know whose arse has been on it) a big telly and a loudmaking device that magically makes stuff sound good, the beer is nice and not in plastic cups, there are no pikey cunts coughing or getting on my thrupnies and if I want a piss I can pause the film.

Think what got me was the link to the original film... tenuous but a genuine moment of "ohhhhhh soooooo that's what it was".

I liked it I was able to watch it without seriously thinking about it. Thought the arm was funny as fuck too.

I know that she is a great actress (at least those in the Academy think so) but am I only one who finds Meryl Streep to have the charisma of rotting cardboard?

You are not alone. I find her acting very irritating and incredible - and I mean not credible! How fucked is this Ingerlish language? Inflammable means it IS flammable, inactive means it is NOT active, incredible means - I don't fucking know! I looked it up and the correct word is uncredible, my spell checker says no way Pedro and changes it to incredible, which means the dogs doodles, not a pile of dog turd! Anyway she is pony, you are correct.

I 'nm not having that , the fucking dictionary nazis treat us like a herd of sheeps).

Talking about the Academy. all these awards get right up my tradesman's entrance! All those luvvies earning millions of pounds per second patting each other on the back and saying how wonderful they are. The media jizzing over what frocks they are wearing and how fucking brave they are to wear black and stand up to say that they too were mistreated 30 years ago - now it is fashionable to do that. I am not saying that they should shut up, I am saying that they should have said something when the abuse happened, how many other girls have been on the 'casting couch' and had their dreams destroyed and in some cases their lives ruined since these brave stars were abused? I get sickened by anybody in authority or positions of power misusing that privilege, but when people just accept that state of affairs and say nothing, then they are enablers, bravely wearing a black frock to a pointless party is pathetic.

That's possibly a bit harsh and naive? I have no 'inside' knowledge of how the film world works any more than the next man, but I would imagine that the Weinsteins and others like him of this world, wielded immense power in an environment that was essentially a closed shop. 30 years ago the world was also a very different place and whilst I too abhor those who abuse their power, I suspect it might have been impossible for most young actors and actresses to get anywhere in the business, without succumbing to unwanted advances. These animals could kill hopes and dreams far too easily and speaking out at the time might have been nearly impossible to be heard or have any effect on just about every level.

It was an open secret that was treated as a bit of a joke, I would suggest that many of these victims knew exactly what the price was and paid it, so in my opinion they were enablers, they submitted to abuse to achieve goals that the vast majority of folks could never aspire to, and earn huge chunks of money. You could say that we all could have achieved more than we have now by becoming muggers, bank robbers or drug dealers, as I was so very pretty when I was young I could have been a gigolo, we all could have made those choices but did not, mostly.

What these blokes did is wrong, disgusting and vile of course, but to praise the victims now for standing up to something they should have exposed when it was happening or to have not accepted it as the price of stardom is bollocks.

I would agree that there are several bandwagons rolling around at the moment and people are jumping on them very easily, without much thought, indeed many of these folks weren't even around 30 years ago. But I would imagine there are a lot who were coercerd into acts against their will, sexually and emotionally bullied. I wouldn't be surprised if it still goes on today, in this and other industries. It's just much more difficult to get away for the perpetrators with and much easier to say something for the victims.

I'm not praisning the bandwagon jumpers, I'm respecting the those who perhaps previously had no voice.

Yeh, agreed mate. She was quite good in the Deerhunter and Kramer vs Kramer but even then there was a sameness about her. Sameness!!?? Wtf. im really struggling to describe exactly what it is makes her so revered.
