well that depends if he finds 59,000 people who back his perspective!!Always thought this is how it would go,so i am not suprised,he,sugar, joe lewis are/werent benevolent benefactors custodians, they are investment business opportunists, they may well be spurs fans but when it comes to it the wallet rules the heart.Thing is now the board are truly accountable for any lack of success, dont pay wages equivalant to arsenal, chelsea then justify the ticketing costs.Be sure as soon as we hit a bump in the road it will be Levys head called for 1st from now on.

I'm a Levy fan overall for the way he has moved the club forward, whilst appreciating some of the pitfalls along the way. But this pricing feels out of order for ordinary fans on principle and perception. There should be at least affordable tiered pricing, like housing. You can charge £2000-£10000 for the east and West wealthy and corporate punters, but not in the South/North for loyal Park Lane and Paxton fans that have supported the club for years. It's not right- there's room for everyone. I will be interested to see what THST say.

I want to know what the finances look like as well....where's that Swiss Ramble fellow when you need him??

no one seems particularly happy, except gooners because they reckon we are now the most expensive club in europe.
Them goons are funny. An acquaintance of mine who is a plastic goon, he went once and thinks he's a life long fan and couldn't name half their line up - asked me in what he thought was an amusing tone of face what I thought of Spurs bottling it in Europe again, I reminded him that the goons bottled their first 3 goes in the Champions League as well - and their first 4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,1,2,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20 and 21 goes - all in a nice row. So he dug the hole a bit deeper and said 'but we won the Cup Winners Cup!', hmm so did we and the EUFA Cup, twice. Funny pretend goon.

Guess what I think of him? You probably already know, I may have let it slip once or twice that he is not welcome for tea and cake at the Dorset mansion, the butler has been told to release the hounds if he comes calling.

The problem is, as always, he's a cunt, but if he were to go there's an odds on chance that the next cunt would be an even bigger cunt. Football is fucked, there are no clubs anymore just corporations, so we might as well stick with the cunt we have got rather than risk an even bigger cunt, Imagine if it was that total cunt Gold sitting in our director's box or that barrow boy we used to have, the one who used to sell the dodgy hi-fis and computers.

Just hoping I don't get priced out being phase 7. Financially I'll do what I can but I can't justify mega money as I can't get to loads of games, and then tally in flights+hotels+trains on top.

Think they really have went overboard we've gotta be right up there with most expensive season tickets.

But end of the day fuck em didn't expect them to put smiles on our faces with the prices anyway. They're money grabbing ballroots and that ain't going to change!

Been looking at the greens £980/19 = £51.5 per home game.

It's utter bullshit... but we expected it.

It will look the bollocks and have absolutely zero atmosphere as the fans will not be fans... they will be tourists.

I must admit that's a bit of a kick in the gonads for the season ticket holders among you. I was never in the running for one and at those prices I never would be in a position to do so. Caved in to the corporate and rich. My bronze membership should hopefully mean I'll get my yearly pilgrimage over.
Wow its pricey

This is from the SkyscraperCity site. Pretty much 100% spot on in my view.

The extra revenue generated from "normal" ticket sales against other revenue streams is a minuscule amount of the total revenue the club will be generating from other revenue streams. Yet it is arguably the most important thing to get right, just look at what has happened at other stadiums in London, namely at West Ham and Woolwich. If fans are accepting these price hikes then they will be directly complicit to turning us into those two clubs. I've been an almost daily reader of this site for many years now and the common theme throughout has been to praise the club for learning the lessons of the London Stadium and The Emirates to name but a few, to the point of gloating, yet here we are sheepishly accepting these prices as a necessity or get with it or get out mentality. Quite frankly that's an embarrassing stance to take and completely contradicting position for supporters to take who gloat and laugh at fans who watch their football from morgues. For all those who take the micky out of Woolwich for their soulless atmosphere, well welcome to your future.

Do not confuse my rants with anti-Levy or ENIC out, as owners they are fantastic. What Levy has achieved since taking over has been non-stop improvement, he has taken us from embarrassment to one of the best run clubs in the game. I approve of all the reasons we are building the stadium and I adore the attentional to detail of it's build, more important to any of that though I am thrilled at the stadium being built in Tottenham. But all of this doesn't mean we should accept these prices, any football fan that rolls over and has their belly tickled when it comes to ticket pricing should be ashamed. There appears to be loads of people so acceptant of this on here, like west ham fans letting the excitement of a shiny new stadium cloud their judgement of something that is so obviously going to effect the future enjoyment of that stadium.

The sentiment of this is spot on, but in reality we don't purchase a new ST due to taking a stand and someone else will gladly take that spot. It's what Levy and the board are counting on and it'll work.

Shame really as the THST review of prices says. It was a chance to really get this right and they have typically fucked everyone over laughing all the way to the bank. I'll take a ticket for a year and see if it's worth it with the ticket exchange. This year with the huge stadium to fill I've made an almighty £70. If not it'll unfortunately be goodbye!

I know myself and @Flump both boycotted the club during sugar`s tenure, did it make a difference? doubt it someone else went instead, but i stood by my word and never graced a game with him at the top after boxing the shelf, sacking venables and a ridiculous court case and calling all fans stupid.
If this turns into the emirates i could quite easily go and support a non league local side (dartford or ebbsfleet) and feel like i am watching football again rather than playing marcellous wallace in the pulp fiction gimp scene. So its not even so much the price its also if it means finding myself in a pub and the ground with tarquin, rupert and jeeves instead of steve, neil and simon getting hammered singing sol campbell is a cunt.If the craic is gone so will I be.

That Tarquin bloke's all-right mate once you get to know him, Rupert is a cunt of course.

I know we all want to be top of the the world, but at fucking football, not prices. The most expensive season ticket in the world I think? Fucking mental that is. OK, I wouldn't be buying one anyway, I can't get home from evening games and the cost of travel is mental, but even if I lived in the smoke I would have to think twice about paying a grand on a season ticket, actually it would be £1325 for where I would like to sit! Those prices don't include cup games - whoah, add in 6 of them fuckers and you are looking at nearly 2 grand plus at least a grand for beer and pies, three fucking thousand quid plus travel costs?

But, but, but, we can't compete with the top clubs if we don't raise more cash........yeah right. Last time I looked we came second to Chelsea 7 points ahead of Man City and above everyone else including the Scum with their big stadium and before that third. so we can compete and the new Stadium will generate a whole load more cash in it's own right. A good academy, a good coach and good scouts is all you need, with a reasonable amount of wedge.

The extra money raised won't be spent on players anyway, history tells us that. it will be used to reduce the stadium debt. Just like the Scum. Levy had a blue print, clear as day, or a red print actually and 100% fucked it up. Shame.

Let the wealthy sit in the wealthy seats, eating caviar off the thigh of a south Korean lady, before kick off, at a premium price, no problem if that's what they want. But let the noisy fans that provide the real atmosphere, even against Huddersfield at home, and drink Guinness in the Brickies beforehand, pay a fair price in the South stand. It really is very simple. Levy has missed the point, can only see £ signs, which in the overall scheme of things, isn't going to make a difference and has cocked it up.

Season ticket pricing at Spurs - THST comment
3/13/2018

new-spurs-stadium-web-ready_2_orig.jpg

With the pricing for the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium, the Club had a great opportunity to cement the growing bond between fans and the Club, and to secure future generations of support.

Spurs fans are excited by the prospect of returning to Tottenham to a new stadium that will be one of the best in the country, and they recognise the commercial realities of delivering on that vision. At the same time, they wanted a new stadium that was financially accessible to existing and future fans in an era in which elite football is awash with money. We believe those expectations were realistic and, as a Trust, we sought to reflect that feeling, and to engage in genuine discussion with the Club in order to secure a good deal for fans.

We were given headline pricing minutes before the Club announcement went live yesterday. So we knew the cheapest GA tickets and the most expensive were comparable to prices at White Hart Lane. But as we digested the detail, it soon became clear those headline prices masked a different reality.

On reviewing the price plan, there are only 9 areas priced below £950. We have asked the Club to confirm the number of seats within the lower price bands and they are yet to respond. There is significant upward price migration at price points between the cheapest and most expensive. Some fans are facing increases of 25, 40 or 50% in their usual seating areas which, even taking into account the improved facilities, will be beyond many, whether they are longstanding season ticket holders or whether they signed up for the first time for the year at Wembley. The vast majority of fans go to football for the football, not for the facilities.

Many fans are now having to reconsider their seating options, scattering groups who’ve long sat together.

There are 15 different price points, an over complex system that allows attractive headline claims to be made but which mask the price rises many will now face. Fans are genuinely worried about the availability of tickets at prices they can afford in the later priority windows.

The South ‘home’ stand has been promoted as the focus for atmosphere, yet most tickets are priced around the £1,000 mark. And sections of premium-lite tickets at £2,200 do not sit comfortably with the stated aims of this stand.

We are pleased the Club listened to our argument for concessions to be available all around the ground, although we would have preferred this offer to have been made available at all price points rather than to just those seats priced under £1125. This still provides a far wider choice than the historic policy of only offering concessions in the North Stand. The introduction of a Young Adult category is a very positive step.

We also argued for a stretch pricing policy, where the very substantial number of premium tickets would enable cheaper prices to be offered to those fans who could least afford to attend matches. In reality, those who held the cheapest tickets at either White Hart Lane or Wembley are facing very large increases in prices. Although not announced yet, single match general admission prices will inevitably have to follow suit.

The Club believes it will fill the stadium with this pricing policy. That may well be the case in our first season with a successful, entertaining team but the novelty may wear off after the first season, particularly if performance on the pitch falls short. With fans already contacting us saying they are priced out, we cannot view this as anything other than a missed opportunity.

Is that it? I expected full blown Yid Army, block the building site and burn Levy and his cuntish pricing policy to the ground, a rallying call for a genuine show of fan power. This is just, meh.

Pfft...

What I am find so hard to digest and to come to terms with is that we've been building since mid 2000s, he's been 'listening' to THST, 'building a brighter future', chasing trophies and leagues, Harry, Bale, Champions League, excitement and then Poch and the new stadium building excitement and just at the moment when you were about to come and jazz over everything, beyond the point of no return, JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT IT COULDN'T GET ANY BETTER.

POP! Sorry but we always wanted a better 'class' of punter anyway.
All the goodwill and positivity... gone.
I feel betrayed.

That's as nasty as Judus for me, it's calculated and sordid. Turns out we've been well and truly Levied.

I agree with this 100%. If the die hards get priced out and it's Jeffrey with the wife next to me I'll call it quits. Irish footie is shit but they empty eachother so it's pretty funny and it probably costs about a fiver a game if not free!

Nah, Levy has royally fucked up, but I've waited about 40 years for a season ticket (exaggerating for effect, but you know what I mean) it's in my blood and this is a moment in Spurs history. I'm getting one for a season and then see what happens from there.

So my maths say he will have doubled the income from season ticket sales, i dont mind an increase but the selection criteria was wrong and the pricing is wrong! Would have been inclined to drink in ground before not so sure now as it will be £6 a pint to add to the £60 ticket

Also from Skyscrapercity, a some well supported (on that site) alternative views.

To be fair to you and others not happy with pricing, nobody twisted your arm to pay nearly £100k over 40 years, you chose to do that to support your team and to hopefully enjoy your commitment to the cause.

I gave up my season ticket when I moved out of London 16 years ago, I am no less a fan of the club/players/stadium and although I have managed a handful of games in that time as a GA supporter I understood that was going to be the case. Looking back I respect long term ST holders for their commitment but that is all it is.

There is no loyalty in supporting a team from the clubs side and as things change, teams progress and the costs spiral upwards it is just a sign of the times for progression.

In order for Spurs to compete with other big spenders in the league the money has to come from somewhere and unfortunately it is not coming out of the millionaires pockets for us, that then means that the investment that has been made to give us a state of the art stadium and to future proof it for the next few generations will be passed on to the fans.

If Levy had asked you 5 years ago would you like to stay a mid table team but keep ticket pricing and the old stadium the same or pay twice as much and have a new stadium with the potential to win the premier league and retain our star players, what would you have chosen? I know me personally I would prefer how we have it now and what might be for the future.

I would love a ST for NWHL but the reason I gave it up before is I work away a lot and that pays my bills and keeps a roof over my head rather than having 20 days a year in a stadium on a fantasy trip (or nightmare in the past).

My seat location is going to be entirely dictated by my budget.
That's how everything else in life I buy is bought.

I have "this" much money for "that" thing I need. I don't moan that 12 bedroom estates can't be bought for 4 bed detached prices.
I don't moan 5 star all inclusive holidays in the Carribean can't be bought for the price of a week in Benidorm.

Despite what anyone thinks, you are not getting a like for like experience at the new stadium.
There ARE cheaper seats, they're just not where you're used to.

I would love to know where you all go though, so I can avoid it. Having perpetual moaners around me kills the experience dead.

With the ticket pricing, I can see both sides.

I sat in the old West for 33 years, and prior to that I used to stand on the shelf and occasionally in the PL for cup games as I liked the atmosphere. A lot of my pals remained in the shelf and a common source of ribbing was the amount I paid as opposed to them. I didn't mind that, everyone has their own budget and I'd never tell anyone how to spend their money - that's up to them. About a year ago we were discussing NWHL prices and I informed them that it was most likely (through I contact I knew) that East and West would have pricing parity. Some reactions were 'outrageous, piss take, out of order, etc...', but most recognised that they'd had a good thing for many a year and that is just wasn't reasonable to expect that to continue in the new ground.

It's worth me pointing something out. You don't have to be rich or poor to decide what is or isn't an offensive price. A lot of my pals are let's just say comfortable, but it doesn't mean that they'll shell out regardless; rather, they'll take a personal view on what they consider to be value and a consequence might be that some don't take up their ST's in NWHL. Personally, I'll renew in the West and I fully expected it to cost more to do so. Yes I'm watching the same football team, but everything else around me has changed and I am expecting an amazing experience (an elevator instead of traipsing up and down stairs being one!
lol.gif
)

What I'll never understand, is the reaction of those who - just because they can't have something - want to spoil and tarnish it for others. Personally, I'd love to buy an Aston Martin DBS, but sadly I can't afford one. But I don't go down to Park Lane and start berating poo-poo'ing those who can. The same is true of NWHL. The ticket prices means that we will lose some fans. But we also gain others too. There is zero to be gained from trying to take the polish off NWHL and ruin others enjoyment, just because you cannot be there to experience it yourself.

I'd also like to say that being at the ground doesn't make or break you, as a fan. Last season, I missed 16 out of the 19 home games because I couldn't walk. I still found ways (heh heh) to make sure I saw every single game and I was as passionate at home as I was at The Lane. Still a Spurs fan, still chasing the glory, still falling out of my chair and throwing biscuits at the telly. No stewards to worry about. Well, except for the wife
biggrin.gif
The point is, you're still going to be a Spurs fan whether you're at NWHL or not. My daughter is Spurs mad but has hardly ever been; my son-in-law is a gooner, goes Emirates all the time and is very miserable. Poor sod.

End of the day, it's up to the fans to vote with their feet. If they think the club has got this one wrong, then that'll show in ticket sales and the club will be forced to react. From their perspective they're simply selling a product and if everyone buys it then they've judged the pricing well. What other conclusion could they possibly form?
