The sausage machine is unsure about this one! The probabilities it squirted out are 38% Home Win, 29% Draw, 33% we win, fucking stupid sitting on the fence computer! I should have added a Spurs factor into the code, but that would break the unwritten rule of the Order of The Code Monkeys and Doug Pirhana might nail my head to the floor.

United are there for the taking, so we will win this 4-1

Good time to play them or bad time??short of confidence or galvanised "us against the world" ?No doubt we are good enough and in good enough form to win there, but it isnt an easy ground for us as visitors.Feel optimistic maybe more than usual, but they cant be as awful as at Brighton? The press scenting blood in the water may do united a favour and motivate the team for Jose if they run this week with "united crisis" and put the boot in too hard.
At least what we did vs Fulham will leave doubts in mourinio`s mind about how we will set up,3 or 4 at the back?its good that it will be more in their minds about what we do rather than what they can do to us.A win would put us in an incredible position early on,and momentum is everything if we are to hang on to city and liverpool, and establish a gap with arsenal and united so early on.
United 1 spurs 4

Get a win here and it's a great start to the season. As @skiathospurs has said they can't be as bad as against Brighton, but they're defence will get pulklked about a lot more by Eriksen, Dele, Moura, and Kane. Got a feeling we will start Dembele for this one as need and experienced powerhouse in middle of the park who can take opposition players out of the game when in possession. Can't believe it's only Tuesday, don't want to wait a week for this! Where the transfer window to distract you when you need it....

who are you leaving out Dier?and going 3 at the back or sanchez and trad back 4?
For me if we set out to press the life out of them then 3 at the back and get trippier/davies high up the pitch and push sanchez, rashford or martial back with them.

The dreaded vote of confidence from the board!!Only ever trotted out when teams are in the shit !!

Manager Jose Mourinho retains the full backing of Manchester United's board despite Sunday's 3-2 Premier League defeat at Brighton.

The result and performance has attracted widespread criticism.

Mourinho is the favourite to be the next Premier League boss to leave his job, with suggestions that former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is being considered as a potential replacement.

A United source said: "Why would we discuss Zidane when there is no job?"

This is a great time to play this bunch. Players look miserable, Jose looks ten years older after 2 games.

We look United (pardon the pun). Poch has us well drilled and the dreaded Kane August has been put to bed already.

Only thing I would say is we need to set up to deal with Pogba. He is the one player that for some reason can give Dembele a hard time. He did it last season and did it again in the World Cup.

Funny thing is Jose will set up at Old Trafford hoping for a draw. It's only Tottenham Jose!!

Think we'll win, but couldn't predict a score line. They'll score. We'll score more.

Said it at half time against the fools... someone will take a fucking spanking off us this year if we keep playing like that... this team is one tantrum away from imploding.

I can see mopey Mou playing for a clean sheet. I should if I was him as a draw is a good result against a top side. Conceded against us and they will go to rat shit... hopefully.

If we start strong like we did in the FA semi but take our chances they will crumble this time.

I’m generally a positive sort of fellow, but 4-1 away at United with JM doing it’s the world against us thing, doubt it’s going to happen, they’re at home and they have good players.

Three at the back doesn’t work against their wingers maybe? I don’t know. It’s a very big game early in the season. I think we can win but we have to take our chances, which maybe few and far between. Don’t forget this lot beat us comfortably in the end in the FA Cup semi.

2-1 Spurs in a tight game, Eriksen and Dele

Reckon it’s gonna be a tight game. You know what he’s gonna do, he’ll sit 8/9 men behind the ball with a siege mentality and try and hit us on the counter. They looked toothless trying to break through a well oiled Brighton defence, so the bit more space we will afford them, will suit the pace they have available.

Defensively though they looked a mess, so guess he’ll push his midfield back a bit so to prevent us from finding space between midfield and defence, however it’ll take a lot of discipline from his players and this game will go a fair way to showing us how much respect he commands amongst the squad.

For me the key area is their forward left and our right defence area.If Trippier can be based in their half and martial, dog nonce or whoever is their left attacking MF can be forced to track back, then we will be in business.Even though we beat them 2-0 at wembley,1st half many times trippier was exposed 2 vs 1 with sanchez and valencia,we got away with it a bit. They really dont press very high, their instinct is to drop and "park".Our passing mostly against fulham looked snappy enough, yes when you have the ball over 60% there will always be some side to side tikki taka bollox, but it wasnt like sometimes where we look laboured.I have a feeling they will play fellaini and pogba in CM try and make it physical and use the 2 meter bog brush to hold up long balls,i really dont see lukaku getting much change from our CBs from punts upfield.I will be happy if lingaard is on the bench he looked their most lively outlet.

As my gig tonight has been cancelled I`ve decide to go all "anal" and look at the 3 fixtures last season..In all 3 games we dominated possession, even at OT,same with efforts on goal. The closest game stats wise was the easy-peasy 2 nil home win, which on paper looked like the better united performance bar the scoreline.Suprisingly our most dominant performance (or not) was the cup semi where we had 20% more of the ball and a larger number more of shots (22),though not on target (2)!!Memory tells me we should have been out of sight before Dembele got suckered and robbed for the equaliser.
Anyway, mostly I looked at the 1-0 defeat at OT,where again we had more of the ball and attempts before a late Martial winner. So Jose is comfortable thinking he can leave us with the ball for longer and not go toe to toe pressing.
It also appears from the lineups he matched us with 3 (or if you like 5) at the back (smalling, jones, bailly, young and valencia). What is most encouraging is we almost (compared to our true 1st XI vs Fulham) had a distinct league cup team feeling out there, aurier, sissoko, winks,Dier in the back 3 (sanchez on the bench),Son&Alli upfront (kane was injured) and even Llorente got over half an hour!!

Jose will send out his team to defend and compete and hope for the best. Not sure his players are any longer on board with this?I just cant see em matching our belief and desire/energy "they cant stop em,the boys from tottnum" once we score heads will drop and a head is soon to roll.
So that is the rebuttable to mr don,it will be 4-1 same as `72 at old trafford!!

If we win 4-1 I'll buy you drinks all day before the NLD and I'll be happy to.......!! I will be equally happy with any other win, that doesn't cost me drinks.

When I say drinks - I'm talking jugs of piss from the Brickies, not jugs of Grey goose washed down with Premier Cru Chateau Lafite

Impressively comprehensive mate!

Just saw they may have, Valencia, Matic & Sanchez available, so they pretty much have their 1st XI back, so there’s huge amount pressure on Utd to get a result against us. Gonna be a very intriguing game.
