Was chatting to a sparky in Greece whilst out on a stag do last night. He seems to think it'll be next season before it's finished. Said the main problem is they're trying to do it too fast and got different trades doing things in no order and fucking things up for other trades so jobs are getting done two or three times instead of once cos there's no communication between different contractors. Said it was the most chaotic site he'd ever worked on.
He did say he also thinks it'll be the best stadium the country once it's done though, and he's a City fan.

There was an article in "construction news" which laid all that on Levy striking individual deals with contractors rather than paying mace to organise the whole sheebang.Guess it brought the cost estimate down, but meant Mace didnt have overall responsibility (and liability for delays!).At the start I would have had no qualms with being out of WHL for 2 seasons to be done, but the part demolishion in the final season and promises made have turned out to be fanciful (at best).

The deal Levy made hasnt worked 100%,and they can try and blame that on trades or sabotage or Mace, but the plan appears to have been overly optimistic from the outset.I often wonder why we built a college and supermarket on the ideal plot of land that would have enabled us to build the new stadium with WHL still open, surely 10 years ago it must have crossed someones mind??

Me: I'm not excited about the stadium
*watches video above*
Me: That stadium does look fucking smart.

I really do like the new ticketoffice/shop/warmington house, with the stadium nestled behind it.

Be lovely when they've finished it in 2019 ;p

Though, lots of paving going down does strike me, the total novice, as a good thing... that seems pretty fragile and you won't be putting heavy equipment on it... I'd also thunk.

WHY AM I SO OPTIMISTIC.

Think Bill is somewhere in front of the south stand without digging up the picture (no pun intended) penalty area-ish??

I'll most likely be at Everton away just before Xmas. Be good to see ya if you can make that one.

Mate, I have now been stuffed around by Ryanair and my flight into Stansted (from Bremen) on 22/12 has been cancelled . They have rebooked me on a later flight landing at 11:15.am. So, unless the Everton game is moved to the 23rd then I won't get there. I say this with great affection for the Irish, but they couldn't get laid in a brothel that mob. Both Aer Lingus and Ryanair are an absolute shambles and that Michael O'Leary is surely taking the piss. Great people...I love 'em but Jesus they can fuck you around..

When are the December date changes usually announced by those in the ivory tower?

That's a fucker mate. I had 4 flights with Aegean this wee and every pissing one of them was delayed. I assume this "hurricane" was the problem but they're always fucking late when I fly with them or Olympic... Just the Greek way I suppose. I remember asking a Greek what the bus timetable was and the bloke laughed and said "It'll get here at some point, just be patient".....

Even Real use blue, over white. Gotta be something to do with artists, and marker pens.

Got half a pitch too... I know I wouldn't be you know, optimistic, but does kinda look like they are putting finishing touches on at the moment.

Those pics are gorgeous! Still wish the seats where white though.

I guess this is kind of the opposite of why you use white in a house (or light colours). It looks roomy. You want a stadium to look as tight as possible to add to the intimidation factor so use darker colours.

Makes perfect sense, but I just love the white. I white-out like they do in Happy Valley would be epic at the NWHL.
