That's got to be a smoke screen......?
Perez needs a yes man, neither Conte or Poch are that.By that I mean player power rules the bernabeu, try and install your philosophy and discipline, perez backs the players.I get the feeling Martinez can live with those rules more easily.

We saw at chelsea Jose lived with the dressing room having control and what happened 2nd time around when he tried to put his foot down,When you have an all dominating team pulling as a unit to win everything, you can allow a team to lead itself to a degree, madrid (and chelsea after jose) were a power on the wane, and need(ed) someone to come in establish control again.Thats where madrid are now, they need someone to take control, but ramos, marcelo and the older bigger players will resist and I still think push comes to shove Perez will back them still.Wrong but I dont think he will allow a coach/manager control. Can you imagine their pampered galacticos allowing a coach like conte/poch who will train them hard without back channeling the chairman and undermining them.

Fair comment, I like the analysis, Levy needs to back Poch soon then!

Yeah, Martinez is pretty famously a soft touch when it comes to man management.

From the BBC Sport gossip page - clue is in the last word in brackets.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has told Real Madrid he will not be leaving Spurs, despite being offered £15m a year to take over at the Spanish club. (Sun)

I loved the bit he was near the top of their wanted list.........

TBH i have no faith at all in the sun, mirror, mail, express, they just make up stuff for content,i even try to click as rarely as I can on their sites.I find it quite annoying that the BBC advertises for these rags in that gossip section.

I agree and think the 'gossip' section is just as bad if not worse. There is little to no truth in any of it.

“My contract expires in 4 and a half years. If Levy does not fire me first… (laughter).

“Seriously, today I see myself here. I dream of winning a trophy with Tottenham, maybe the Premier League in our new stadium. In the future to also guide the Argentine team is my desire. The important thing is to be happy and I am right now.”

From Telegraph Sport - Levy's last chance to back the manager? My take is that Poch's new £8m contract saved Levy's bacon and a revolt from us lot.

Not holding my breath on that one. Somebody on one of the podcasts was pointing out that Poch and Mourinho had very similar grievances against their clubs (he acknowledged Jose had had lots more £ spent on him, but both were unhappy with their summer dealings). Look at the difference in how the two have gone about their business since the window closed.

Yes good point, I read that somewhere too. One is whingeing and underachieving , disuniting and dividing his squad, the other is a professional magician.

Poch was clever tonight, resting Son, Eriksen and Dier, all of whom will be key on Sunday and yet still have them a short run out and two of them won us the game.

The belief and momentum will be very strong. If we are as brave as we were against Chelsea and take our chances we can steamroller the scum. Let’s make it 3 out of 3 please nicely

Probably the best manager in world football today.

I am really hoping Leeds win promotion. I would love to see the master (Bielsa) against his apprentice.

The Macclesfield town manager would disagree with that. He would have been the 'master' if the entire world had not been racist. I can't wait for him to fail, because he will and he will blame everybody else like he always does. Bastard, dirty fucking bastard, I hate him with a passion that will never die, when people talk of 'burying the hatchet', I think that would be a great idea, but then I realise it doesn't mean what I think it does.

So I guess it’ll be highly likely Utd will try and prize Poch away from us, with promises of riches beyond his wildest dreams and a transfer budget to match. I’d love him to come out and dismiss the speculation and categorically tell us he’s not interested.

Can’t say i’m too bothered to be honest and it may actually work in our favour, with Levy having the same concerns and offering him a considerable warchest.

poch just wont talk about it.Cant see anyway he would shit on us and his morals, especially to another english club. This is big ron era man utd not prime fergie time, they are in a considerably worse state than that, poch isnt purely money motivated, whether its his wages or huge transfer budgets.
The upside can only be Levy gifts poch some money for a signing or two.

He's dealt with it all very impressively and very professionally in his press conference. As he always does.

He does not need to tell us.

He needs to tell the players that he has no interest in joining United to prevent any players becoming unsettled.

If the speculation intensifies, then I expect Levy to release a statement with Poch's approval to stop the speculation in its tracks

Finally, I cannot see in his character, anything that tells me he will not honor his contract and would leave mid-season. (He only left the Saints because the chairman did)

The ONLY thing to screw this up, would be a massive fallout between Poch and Levy. I cannot see this happening

I meant Levy and other gaffers.

The king of the jungle and him fell out at the height of our champions league prowess.
Wasn't that Harry's combination of alleged tax fraud and England job though. Nothing wrong with the playing style.

Yeah totally.... I was just trying to explain (not that I need to) that levy is a cunt and does fall out with gaffers.

If he ducks it up with Poch.... I'm burning that stadium to the ground*

*for all police and security services monitoring this post, I 100% would not do that. I dont even like fire that much. Too hot for me.
