well since the click bait bandwagon is passing......apparently Spurs offered him £130k a week pre Christmas/injury and then he came back later and wanted £180k a week.

Personally I doubt we would have offered £130k in the first place, but clearly there's an impasse with Toby. Shame.

What is proven is that clubs like Man United, Chelsea, Spurs can all lose 'big' players and move on. Sanchez may not be as good as Toby pre injury, but he has more speed and is 21, he may end up being better, who knows.

Thats the bit that makes me not too worried about Toby going...we have Sanchez..Toby played just 14 games in the league and we still finished 3rd...For me if Toby really wants £180k a week go and get but it wont be at Spurs

Having said all that, I don't want to give the impression that we can just cast him off, albeit at a huge fee, but I for one would much prefer us as a team including Toby, than without him. He is after all a wonderful player.

That ha d is bothering Dele and Toby is getting older. Let’s get this game out of the way, give everyone a proper Summer of rest (there’s that bloody England game next Thursday) and see what happens. They all need proper time off, mentally as much as physically.

Honestly, Toby has taken a noticeable performance dip since his injury... seems slower, and his reading of the game to me, not quite as it once was. I dunno, my just be my perception, but I always considered Toby to be best of the two usual suspects, but right now I'd pick Vertonghen.

I'd be gutted if either Toby or Christian left, especially to someone within our league... but if I were picking one to go, I'd be keeping Christian over Toby.

A much as I love Toby (and I do believe he would actually play for us next season),we could lose him and still be able to overcome it Losing Eriksen, on the other hand, would be crushing. We would basically have to change the way we play. We are going to get somewhere in the neighborhood of 80 mil even if we lose tomorrow. Surely some of that could go to keeping Mr. Eriksen in lily white.
