There's more there on his account but don't know how reliable this source is
The journo is reputable, but in this case it honestly strikes me as JN keeping his options open. I just can't imagine any German manager of whatever age turning down Bayern if the offer came.

Some talk about Hughton hearing through an agent that Ralf Rangnick is being discussed.

As a manager, he's always had a progressive & a front foot approach. A bit of an eccentric & ahead of his time in a Bielsa way. Kind of like a predecessor to Klopp, Poch, & Nagelsmann in wanting possession, pressing & counter-pressing higher up the pitch. Hasn't had a great deal of success as a manager but we could do far worse (& we have). He's mainly managed at lesser & mid table sides in Germany but transformed Leipzig into a formidable club.

As a DoF, I'd be all over that. He's got an incredible record of spotting & recruiting young talent on the cheap. In the past, he's then sold these players on for large a profit. What would Levy not like about that?! Here, he could keep & develop these players further. Imagine unearthing a conveyor belt of talent.

its sad we talk all about a new manager because nothing will change so long as levy has control over the purse.

I sense there may be an opportunity here given what has happened in the past week with the ESL. Huge backlash towards owners/chairmen responsible for it. Levy may think he may need to step away from the football side of things for a while rather than resign (not that he would). But just for the optics, bring in a DoF that can play within Levy's means. Rangnick can do this.

I hope our new friend Jason is OK, I was a bit worried that he might get in a fight with himself and lose.

It was never realistic...

Scot Parker is about as good as it gets...

Given the latest quotes, if we can't get Nagelsmann, then at least get someone like-minded like Rangnick as a DoF who has experience, can re-instill the Spurs playing style, recruit young diamonds in the rough, polish them up & then let shine & be molded by someone like a progressive Parker. Rangnick can also be a mentor to Parker.

I simply don't want another portion of negative, defensive football. I'm bored of it.

Nuno or Bielsa please...or might the cunt make a cheeky call to Pochettino should PSG win the CL? (yes I am living in dumb hope)

I'd like a prospective new manager to turn round and say.....

"What working for Levy? Who will short change me and still expect me to deliver him Champions league football on Championship money. Nah, no thanks!"

Or negotiate with him over the job, turn him down and go public with everything.

I’d love to know the reaction if it was revealed that Levy either wanted a say in team selection or that any prospective manager would have no say in transfers and have to make do with the players Levy personally chose.

Looks like Nagelsmann is joining Bayern at the end of the season.

T
ottenham will now turn to other managerial targets, which include Ajax coach Erik ten Hag, Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers and Ralf Rangnick, after seeing leading option Julian Nagelsmann opt to join Bayern Munich.
Nagelsmann, 33, is one of the most highly-rated young coaches in European football and was Daniel Levy’s first choice to permanently succeed Jose Mourinho, who was sacked last week.
However, on Tuesday morning it was confirmed by both Bayern and RB Leipzig that Nagelsman will replace Hansi Flick in the summer, that latter a contender for the Germany job.

The Bavarian-born coach has signed a five-year deal with the European champions until June 2026, with RB Leipzig set to receive compensation that could exceed £20million.

The news increases the pressure on Spurs's hunt for a new manager, with 29-year-old Ryan Mason in temporary charge until the end of the season.

Rodgers is viewed as a good fit, particularly given his attractive brand of football, but he would be expensive to pry from Champions League contenders Leicester and would want a leading say on transfers, which are currently made by committee at Spurs.
Ten Hag, meanwhile, will have a year remaining on his contract at the end of the season and would therefore be an affordable option, who is also committed to progressive football.
Rangnick, who is credited with influencing Nagelsmann and a host of other young coaches, has worked as a manager and director of football, and is currently out of work.
England boss Gareth Southgate and his Belgium counterpart Roberto Martinez have both been linked with the job but would be difficult to tie down until after this summer's European Championship, with Spurs keen to make an appointment before the tournament.

Are we even capable of getting ETH? Last of the progressive/attacking types that are available.

Who is the last Ajax manager to make it? Thank god we got Poch and not Frank de Boar (where the fck is he these days, anyways...) last time around. Makes me squeamish about EtH.

You're right, it's dangerous to put too much stock in managers' Eredivisie records--sort of like strikers who run riot there but can't produce in England or Germany. I do think EtH has done better in Europe than FDB did. I follow the Eredivisie casually, and have to say I'd be happy if he was appointed.
