Wonder if there is anything to the Maddison stories as well?

I'd take Maddison in a heartbeat. He'd create a lot of goals in this side. Would really feast on the bottom half sides. And we have several more rough an tumble midfielders should the situation require it.

Are we actually becoming an overloaded, plutocrat-funded juggernaut like all the outfits we've been kvetching about all these years? Is something actually happening? Do we get to add luxury adornments like an AM just to put lower-table opponents to the sword whilst resting the galacticos?

Am I dreaming? (Answer to that last question is a firm no: neither I nor any of the other figures are naked, so it can't be a dream)

There’s a fascinating season coming up, 5 substitutes - a World Cup in Qatar fucking everything up, and a Spurs team with fans still riding the literal unbelieveable wave of euphoria at the end of last season.

Who the fuck knows what’s going to happen next - not sure how many Galatico’s we’ve got 2 plus the manager? Is Conte worth more than 1 Galatico? I think probably yes.

Bring it on.

Ps if you’re tired of football at White Hart Lane you can now watch Lady Gaga and Rugby Union as well. Levy wil pocket about £4bn soon I expect.

Looks like we're now in for Zainolo. 51 mil. I think he's an attacking midfielder? Supposedly good, but I would think Maddison would be more valuable as a homegrown. If he even is. Who knows anymore? Crazy window, and we still need to move on potentially all of LoCelso, N'Dombole, Winks, Rodon, Reggie (who I like),Royal. That's actually a decent lower mid-table side with just the players we want rid of. Crazy. Would still rather have Bastoni then anyone else we signed but an impressive window. Still wonder if Arse and the Chavs strengthened more than us. So long as we have Conte, we'll always have the edge over Woolwich. Which is good, because the squads are fairly even. Oh, and Levy's a cunt.

Yes, a season that pretty much sums up everything that is wrong with the game at the moment. So we have to fucking win the league, right?

Oh fuck, you just ruined my lovely day. I had a nice little cycle ride early this morning, just 10ks and a sit on the beach when no other fecker was there. I had a lovely swim in the pool listening to some nice tunes - and there were no barking dogs to get on my thrupnies. I haven't listened to any radio about the fucking conservative leadership punch up. I was just about to open a nice cold can of beer - then. you made me remember that N'Fatbelly and Emerson fucking Royal were still part of our squad.

Fatty can have that effect on people 🤣🤣

Interesting reading on Spence though. Conte seems to be saying that it was "the club" who wanted Spence rather than him, but then Ally Gold did say that Conte has full and final say on any incomings so if he'd said no it wouldn't have happened because he wouldn't accept players being dumped on him.

Spence seems ideal for a Conte system: bombing down the wing a la Walker & Hakimi. Not necessarily to provide lofty crosses but simply getting to the byline & cutting the ball back.

Don't know much about him, is he a Traore sort of bloke without all them muscules? Probably better than Adama cos at 21 he can be beaten into the sort of shape the Don wants.

In terms of pace and dribbling past players, Adama is a decent comparison, though from what I've seen (against Championship sides tbf) Spence has a better end product in terms of crossing. Also, to my knowledge he never played as high up the pitch as Traore, and he doesn't oil up before games.

I've never noticed him being a very bad defender, but I guess it's not his strong suit. At the very least, IMO he's way better than Emerson right now, with lots of potential to become a very good player.

That's what we've played 12 million for.

I would be better than Emerson. Thanks for the info I am looking forward to seeing him and the other new blokes, it could be an exciting season.

Not a lot of fondness for our new lad Djed at his former shop:

'Middlesbrough manager Chris Wilder says Djed Spence's move to Tottenham represents "a great deal for a player that has hardly played".

The 21-year-old right-back spent last season away from the Riverside on loan at Nottingham . A successful promotion-winning campaign helped him secure a £20m switch to Spurs.

"He never mentioned us, did he?" Wilder told BBC Radio Tees, referring to a farewell message posted by Spence on social media. "I thought he might have mentioned a couple of people who brought him to the football club when he got freed at Fulham.

"But he has had a fabulous season, Tottenham were the only club in town who wanted to take him.'

Dunno if that's sour grapes, Wilder taking the piss, or he's just a cock-cunt. The man never raised a fuss that I heard of.

Once Steve Cooper (who also managed him in the U-17 England team) arrived at Forest, he got him playing up to his potential. It's odd for Wilder to be having a go, he arrived after Spence had already gone out on loan, and he can't seriously have thought he'd stay in the Championship after the season he had.

I'm concerned Levy may have come out of the spell...but Jesus, what a window. The best in my lifetime tbh, and I'm 50. Kept everyone key, and strengthened where we needed to. Not to mention having world class coach who's a proven winner pulling the strings.
It's exciting times lads. Soak it up...while we can!

I think we all need to calm the fuck down. I have three words for you - Emerson Fucking Royal. I don't see the match against the sweaties the other day, but all the reports I read said he maintained his usual standard.

I'm not worried about Royal. I think he'll be a caravan cup wing back this season. We've got Spence and a fit again Doherty so that'll be that imo barring injuries.

Does this count as a signing ? :)

He's been such a huge success, it's hard to believe he's still only on loan.

Wilder carrying on like an absolute tit after he shot his gob off a few weeks ago about the price of strikers in the Championship.

He's trying to save face but will forever look like an arse after the way he has gone about it.

Crying because Djed didn't say goodbye...fucking hilarious.

This is the best time of the year, about two weeks before the season starts. It's at this time every year when I am sure Spurs will win the league. It's the brief interlude before Sonny and Kane get injured, but yet after I've forgotten what a poor player Emerson is and how much I despised Richarlison at Everton.

As @Dave says, good times indeed. COYS, this is the year!

We won't win the league obviously - the year doesn't end in a 1

Quadruple year! I just watched the highlights of the game against the sweaties - Kulu, Sonny and Kane looked so good. This IS the time of year when I believe anything is possible. If we don't get at least one shiney to put in the trophy cabinet this season I don't think we ever will.

Please don't say that.........!!
Why? Do you think I'll jinx it, maybe poultrygeists* will come and do bad things. I am going to walk under ladders, kick black cats up the arse if they cross my path, spill salt all over the place, break loads of mirrors, if I see a penny I will not pick it up, roll some dice until I get 3 sixes, not knock on any wood (sound painful!),keep my fingers uncrossed, lob away the wishbone if we have a nice roast chicken for Sunday dinner, open up all my umbrellas in the house - and say what I said above - whatever the fuck that was I've forgotten, it must be the heat. At least it's gone down to about 36 today, these are the three things I don't like about Spain, August and fucking June and July behaving like August. Luckily there are several hundred things I do like about Spain so I'm staying!

* I used to tell one of my grandsons. fuck knows which one, they're all the same innit? Evil chickens came back as poultrygeists.

Oh yeah, if we don't win anything this season then we never will, not in my lifetime, and as I believe that none of you fuckers exist and I am the only person in the universe, ( that would probably make me God, yeah I feel like I should be God) ),dreaming about football and stuff, then when I shuffle off this mortal coil then you and everything else in the universe, which is just a figment of my imagination, will cease to exist.
