Gray is a footballer, who has played in defence many times before

What - is this serious take? Wow!

In your opinion

Value - he is only worth what someone is willingly to pay. He wanted out, has been sold, so all good.

You're the only one trying to spin this
Obviously you didn't rate him, and that's fine. But the reality is we do not have a direct replacement. Yea, Gray can play there but that is highly detrimental to his development as a midfileder imo. We should have done better with this transfer.

40m (£34.12m) add ons included is fine i guess because we all want him out but fucks sake thats highway robbery
Is it though ?

Have we over inflated his actual value as fans ?

If he was an £80m player, why hasn’t PSG or Real come in for him at that price ?

A number of Prem teams plus PSG, RM, Barca, would be able to pay more but none did.
Romero may be an elite defender but he's also a liability & many clubs recognize this.
That baggage plus the world knowing that he wants out didn't help us.

Going to Atleti with Simeone there is a perfect fit for him but not the best solution for us given the low price.
Market has spoken.
