I suppose it's a sharp contrast in that we were top going in to the last international break. Definite improvements across the field I thought. Romero was man of the match for me, despite how good Sonny was.

Crazy how tight things are though in that we're only 4 points off the top despite how everything has been going.

Agree about Kane, has always been a slow starter for us.

Had his moments in the game, bit more sharper will see those go in.

Downing tools seems a bit harsh, did score a hat trick against the minnows in Europe.

Very true, but he's brought it on himself. Personally I agree that he was pretty good on Sunday, and still think he'll start banging them in soon. But the pressure and disillusionment was always going to be there after the summer if he didn't hit the ground running--which he very much has not.

One thing that I will say for him--and there are obviously lots of good things to say, is that when he's not firing, he often helps the team, especially Son, in other ways. A couple of years ago I used to think Kane and Son got in each other's way a bit, that his presence kind of pushed Sonny out of the focus of attack. Obviously they proved me wrong many times since then. I thought they showed signs on Sunday of gelling again.
